I cant wait for Tesla to have a version of GM Performace parts, where you can just buy a "crate engine" and battery pack kit for retro fits! Soo many cool projects to be had!
It’s obvious the Tesla powered Cobra was by far the fastest car on the track. What a wild combination but preformed like it was a match made to eat up a road course!! The Shelby Cobra is top 3 on my dream car list however my ideal power plant would be along the lines of a Coyote motor but transformed into an AWD. I don’t believe such a beast exists but if I hit the lottery you will see it in action on UA-cam!!!
In some ways this does indicate that Tesla is quite capable of building a car that can perform well around tracks. But, with vehicles like the Model S and X, I don't believe the company is thinking "track." I think the new Roadster will be able to perform well around tracks.
We did put 300kW to the ground in dyno testing. In reality, for a race, we are limited by battery capacity and motor/battery overheating. For the race shown, we were running at 220kW peak power.
Cool thanks I will be bringing my electric CRX over to Van for some dyno tuning next month. I will keep you posted. Send me an email at garbizwal@hotmaildotcom if you like -Arlin
We are currently using dual Tesla chargers (18kW) which allow us to charge in about 2 hours. The limiting factor is availability of power. For our last race we had to bring in a mobile diesel genset.
I'm intrigued by the concept of a electric sports car however I feel in the process it loses its soul with how bland it is aside from the acceleration.
That electric acceleration clearly gave you a big advantage. Very nice!
Starting in the back of the pack. It's the most fun place to be. You get to pass everyone!
If you and your car are good :-) No shortage of that on this race.
A very informative video, thank you for taking the time to make it
you guys are getting there! awesome !

excellent. What racing is all about.
Should be lightning bolts on the helmet instead of flames! Awesome build!
This video just sums up the EV debate for me. Driving past them like they're standing still.
Instant torque, BABY! Nice!
Nice setup
Shore would be nice to know more details on this and your group's activities - I think Tesla drive train conversions are going to be in big demand.
We are doing this strictly for fun! Technical details can be found in our earlier UA-cam video.

Model 3 with Track Mode
Excellent work. I'm guessing the 300 kW of power is input to the controller and not dyno tested, wheel output.

Next time anyone rages against "milk floats". I'll point them here.
Amazing!!
I smiled every time you picked off an ICE Car. That was fun to watch! How much wheel horsepower is there?
This works too.

Awesome, can we get this vehicle out for a public show in August of 2018?
Awesome!
That roll cage...
New idea.....put the tesla roadster 2.0 powertrain into this car
Do you want him to die or something? 😂😭😂
Does the track have e fire-fighting equipment or what happens if you wreck and there is a fire?
Great work. I'm in Nanaimo I would love to come check out what you have been working on. Welcome to come here anytime :)
Always interested in talking about EV performance! You're welcome to drop by any time you're in Vancouver.

@EPowerRacing how many volts are you getting out of the battery pack?
What class were you running in? I'd like to do something similar.
coming over that little swale I dont hear any tire squeal at all, is there a traction control aspect on the system?
No traction control, just a Quaife Torque Biasing Differential, good suspension, and lots of rubber!
independent rear suspension?
fabulous run
What's the recharge time? I'd love to do this, but that's the buzz kill.

Jose Rodriguez Drive one. There's plenty of soul to be had!
@@babybirdhome it needs a heartbeat for it to posses a soul. Not saying it isn't fun it certainly is the future and it's faster but still.

Horseback riders miss the yehaw
At 0:43 a car went out in the dirt!
Never having to shift...
Car is cool but the noise a Cobra produces is why I bought one for the street and the SPEED.
I saw no lack of speed, so I guess you are going for just the noise.
How completely non exciting
