Jennifer hudson and that amazing cma performance bought me here bc I had to see for myself if she kept Arethas interpretation or if she was doing Jhud, because I had never heard Rere's version, only Willie Nelson and BB King. But doggonit Jennifer didn't do Arethas version, Aretha took over that poor girl body and sang it herself!!! I'm not saying she sounds like aretha, but she took me to a church that look very similar to the one Re took me to!!!!!
I love the look she does at the end to her band, as if to say "Damn, i just sang the shit out of that song" 🤣 There was and will never be a talent like Aretha. Fucking awesome.
Rather annoyingly, this video has been deleted and re uploaded many times over the years. I hope this post can buck that trend and stay here for the foreseeable future. Aretha' was masterful during these concerts and this video is an all time favourite of mine. Thanks for sharing.
Once again, the Queen put it on us real good and proper. Her voice is simply compelling. It captivates, astounds and commands our full attention every time. Listen to just how raw her voice is right at 2:43-2:47, absolutely raw talent. How many other singers can pull that off? In my humble opinion, the best vocalist of all time, hands down. Long live the Queen.
