I've watched this video 4 times, and I like it more every time I see it. Good job. I kayak fish in the island beach state park area. Can't imagine hooking up with a shark. That kayak is too small for you, sir.
I lived in AC for like 15 years and not once have I fished at that location... a lot of the local guides take their customer there though. A lot of decent size bass.
accidently hooked up on a 14 foot tigershark in the yak once... I know the fucker was 14 feet, because the damn thing cruised right up to the boat before it snorked a 12" live mackrel scad I was slow trolling 70 yards back. no fucks given, just popped up and said "Hi" then flipped a 180 and B lined for my bait. and when his nose was level with my bow, his tail was just short of my stern. (was driving a 14.5 foot malibu X factor at the time.) wasn't the first tiger I've hooked, but so far it was the biggest.
I would recommend that you start fly fishing. I think you'd have some fun with that. Get an 8-9 wt rod with a sink tip line, you'll be set for red fish, striper, and drum. Maybe even a small shark if you fell like having a nice fight. Get a short 7'-8'6 fly rod to balance well in your kayak. Trust me. Spend $300 and you'll have the time of your life after 30 minutes of practice casting! Cheers and good luck to ya! Message me if you'd like some more information!
Planning a yak trip wife my wife and daughter in the next couple weeks , hoping to do some beach sharking at night and some yak fishing during the day. This video makes my heart pound lol!!!!
I've crushed bass in that area and a little further south behind ventnor, using the pink zoom with an unweighted hook, just cast and twitch a moderate retrieve, impersonally have never had a run in with a shark back there though.
LOL! So much for not shark fishing on the kayak! I've heard you say that in like 3 different videos! Bass-ass blow up! Great video bro. Keep em coming.
Awesome stuff. I managed to hook a roughly 30 pound shark on my yak in NC in a similar fashion. Never felt a rush like that and probably will not again! While he was on one of his long runs he spooked a king that skied right in front of me!
Tactical Angler clip - check them out. its mostly a surfcaster thing, but they make them in smaller sizes now so makes swapping out color patterns to dial in much easier than retying.
Haha! I crab back in those waters and didn't expect to see a shark back in there! My friend saw a huge ray while we were there last week so I guess sharks are not uncommon either. I should be targeting those stripers while my traps are soaking I guess. :) Great video!
Dude! I been fishing sharks all my life, I NEVER had a shark hit something like a spook! I have heard of it, but it is VERY rare! And then he just pops of?? Wow! cool video , and I have know subscribed! Keep it coming!
Ah, the Philly guys. One of you trying to pull in a shark and the other down in Florida trying to bring in a gator. Some may say idiots, I say heroes. Hahaha.
I spend a good amount of time in the Lewes area and have enjoyed your videos. I have some tech questions to ask about areas and getting plugged into some of the more hard core local guys to I can share reports off line...if you are open to that.
Sweet fish, brah. What kind of flip flops you prefer for topwater sharking? What's your favorite knot? Can you take me fishing at all your favorite spots? I'll buy you a cheese steak.
@I BlOcK bAllZ why do you say that? They've been known to come up the Delaware river. The further south you go in Jersey the chances of encounter get better.
Unfortunately the flat heading has been so bad this year I can't catch anything nice for a video. Too many hours between good bites... We are in a drought and the river has been crazy low, hasn't been good
sea-money any good tips on spots around the cape may area? im heading down tonight with a buddy of mine for a couple days ... probably gonna travel up and down the coast of jersey ....
a wiper is just like the wigger that comes out of detroit its just a white fish trying to be something it can never amount up to ....lol hybrid striper
oh yea, Ill be there, early october for a week+ snooping around the jetties and harbors, Ill be on instagram @mcinteechris, can definitely meet up while up there. will be doing some kind of traveling for 1-3 days at a time before then too in september probably, maybe in long island or rhode island or somethin but the albie/bonito crack is getting strong, soon it will be time to chase the blitzing tunoids. going to NC/VA labor day weekend too for reds I believe

That busy.....huh
Damn, those needle fish are savage 😂🤣
That needle fish was cool! I’ve never seen one or heard of them!
I think they get a lot bigger and do some serious damage. They are definitely cool though.
might be why no stripers were around if you have sharks .
7:54 actual shark blowup
SurfingBullDog god bless
I love backbay kayak adventures. always cool critters up all the tidal creeks.

where do u park?
i watch this video all the time. Makes me get out on my kayak and catching fish!!
more then likely it was a young bull shark
nah probably was a sandbar shark, we get a lot of them in the northeast
its was a sand shark
Not in that area
very cool! yes this happens down in South Carolina a lot! Most likely a bull, they are known to cruise murky inlets.
accidently hooked up on a 14 foot tigershark in the yak once...

@mcinteechris
What kind of shark ?
most likely a sandbar shark or "brown shark" as known in NJ
lol that shark attacking the lure was pretty cool

Haha! I crab back in those waters and didn't expect to see a shark back in there! My friend saw a huge ray while we were there last week so I guess sharks are not uncommon either. I should be targeting those stripers while my traps are soaking I guess. :) Great video!

he smashed that another awesome video
Dude your a rockstar !
I've gone over that road in the beginning and I never would've thought that little overpass has 9' water under it.
yep good depth under there surprisingly
Young bull shark
That's what I'm thinking but the guy who caught it said it was a brown.
Could the stripers be deeper because of the surface water temp? And that's why you got one with the jig? Great vid!!!
yep probably had something to do with it, they really dont like 80 degree temps, too warm for them
That was a bull shark they do that in Florida and North Carolina
@I BlOcK bAllZ why do you say that? They've been known to come up the Delaware river. The further south you go in Jersey the chances of encounter get better.
is flathead Friday's ever comeing back.
Unfortunately the flat heading has been so bad this year I can't catch anything nice for a video. Too many hours between good bites... We are in a drought and the river has been crazy low, hasn't been good

Fat Richard its a white bass and a striper. They are in The Detroit river and from what I hear the Canadian side of st. clair
a wiper is just like the wigger that comes out of detroit its just a white fish trying to be something it can never amount up to ....lol hybrid striper

Dope video man
My backyard... Theres a good launch in Absecon.
Sandbar sharks are quite safe. They are related to and look a little like bull sharks which are highly dangerous.
Cool video, dude. Thanks for posting. Question....what was that lil fish that bit you?
I find it cool how your video's have me living and ,sharing your excitement. Thanks for the experience, beìng my legs dont hold me to well. I dont go fishing that often, thanks dude. My nombre one fishing entertainment 🐳 🐬 🦈 🐟 🍻cheers.
