John Popper play directly to the kids during his solo in But Anyway is full of joy! Also, before he steps back toward the kids, him switching harmonicas without missing a note is just awesome!
Underrated by who? Millions of albums sold, sold out concerts all over the world. That isnt "underrated". UNAPPRECIATED, maybe, by some but then again, not everyone likes every band/music.
@@Marshall_Stacks ....Most people quit name calling in grade school. Whats your excuse? "Celebrated world wide".....that sounds almost cultish. They're good, but they havent even come close to the impact that other bands have had. Either they arent as good as other bands, or they arent trying hard enough. Which is it?
35:05 The absolute beautiful look of joy & wonderment on the precious young ladies face as Popper plays his harmonica directly for her is just priceless. I covered my mouth & began crying instantly. That my friends is the magical power of music🥲🤟
His singing & harmonica playing are one in the same! Beyond phenomenal! He has an incredible vocal range that he doesn't get nearly enough credit for. Unreal talent.
I've been on a huge blues traveler kick lately and the musicianship of these guys never ceases to amaze me. They are incredible. While listening specifically to John's voice lately I made the observation that his voice kind of reminds me of cat Stevens. I'm not a big cat Stevens fan but I just realized that their voices kind of sound similar, I wonder if cat Stevens was a influence on john.
Oh man that wasn't the case for me. I don't remember how, but I ended up with a cd of theirs in the 90's when I was a teenager (I think it was one of those things where you ordered cd's from a pamphlet and they came in the mail?, it was a freebie I believe). I was instantly hooked. I think Popper's voice is what got me so interested in vocalists with unique voice types.
I was hooked first time I head them, pardon the pun. But I do think the more you listen the more you realize how amazingly talented ALL of these guys are. Popper is a given but you don't hear people raving about Chan or Bobby and they really should be.
Yea not the case for me either. I heard hook when I was 9 years old in 1994 and loved Blues Traveler ever since. Great band but most of all great human beings
Interesting that no one commented about Popper getting a new harmonica at 37:33 and just casually flicking away the old one 5 seconds later to keep soloing on the new one.
Lol whoever set the scroll bar moments was drinking. Heavily. All of them get more and more off the further into the set it gets! Runaround was confused for “Hook” lol.. Haha wow
Was wondering the same thing.....Pleased that Blues Travelers played as if they had a Sell Out.....shows their character and passion for their craft....Salute
In 1997 I was 24 years old. What a wonderful time was to be alive in the 80s and 90s.

One of the ,if not the most underrated bands in history. Amazing!

@@MSUSpartanFootball "Sold out concerts all over the world" is not true. Outside of the U.S. / Canada they've never headlined anything.
@@MSUSpartanFootball Douche, the point is that they are SO good and should be celebrated worldwide, but that is not really the case. Go Griz!

If this doesn't put a smile on your face when you most need one...just wow!

His singing & harmonica playing are one in the same! Beyond phenomenal! He has an incredible vocal range that he doesn't get nearly enough credit for. Unreal talent.

Him singing to those handicapped children is what got my curiosity up about him

You're missing a couple pretty major songs in that setlist in the description OP.
Nice

This video does not include the full show....it is missing Sweet Pain
Top chelf , 👍
38:05 Correction
set list has Hook, rather than Run Around, but that's okay.
Run Around plays about halfway thru the show
Lol whoever set the scroll bar moments was drinking. Heavily.
All of them get more and more off the further into the set it gets!
Runaround was confused for “Hook” lol..
Haha wow
All those empty seats can I have one jees
Was wondering the same thing.....Pleased that Blues Travelers played as if they had a Sell Out.....shows their character and passion for their craft....Salute
This was a special show for disabled children..
Must be the openers too. By Hook, the seats are full
You'd have to time travel about 23 years
