    What a breakthough but not many people are aware of this yet.

    The NuTube is really unique tech - I bought the Cambridge50 combo in June and love the variety of warm, natural tones I can achieve. I compared to several traditional tube amps and the sounds are truly competitive. Would love to hear NuTube in an updated Mini3 portable.

      Great suggestion, we'll take that into consideration! In the mean time, the VX50GTV is an in-between point between the Mini3 and Cambridge50, and features Nutube in a portable form factor

    I spoke with the guy at.Vox on Guitar Summit Mannheim this year, he was really knowledgeable even about my old 1960s TB AC30. Since then I bought an MV50 ac and wait until my birthday to try it, it's tiny! Just what I needed for gigging on my motorbike 👍

    Will we ever have effects loop on the MV5O?
    I love mine and the lack of send/return is the only thing refraining me from replacing my all my old amps for it.

    I got an MV50 High Gain amp, and I am quite impressed. The thing sounds like a mini rectifier, and I got it on sale direct from Vox for 99 usd.

    Please engineer a Nutube that can be retrofitted into existing tube sockets for all amps. Now THAT I would buy.

      @AuntAlnico4 Рік тому

      You can't, that voltage difference is massive and new tubes would burn up.

      @@AuntAlnico4that’s why it would need a built in attenuator specifically for each designated tube socket.
      It’s possible.

      I'd rather see NuTubes get licensed out to other amp makers, so Marshall can make a tube preamp JCM style amp with a class D power section. The Mini Amp guys could have used Nutubes instead of FETs in their awesome mini boutique amps.

    You have the nutube in the preamp, but are using it in the power amp section using the valve reactor technology?

    this is a step in the right direction. while modelers / digital can get close, tubes still have that touch sensitivity and the tone. Also fluorescent and neon sign vacuum tube tech lasts way longer than incandescent / vacuum tube, so that's a plus. The audiophile industry has it good, the audiophiles have manufacturers that make their own high quality tubes (they even have 1 liter bottle sized ones), and they don't have to deal with the rigors of gigging . . . whereas guitar amp manufacturers still rely on NOS stock, and the tube factory that Russia, China, and I think there's a European one (Moravia or Slovakia or Romania). Plus the new manufacturing tube quality for vac tubes that guitar amps use is across board, sometimes I'll get a set and have to try several sets of tubes and toss some out trying to get the good ones, because they work but the tone isn't good. Local shop / vox dealer going to get a Cambridge and I'll check it out. Or I can spend the extra 100 USD ish + for NOS / mil spec ones or for preselected / tested tubes.
    Gigging , fugattabout, the only tube amp I'll take is the 90's era classic 30 (with its US mil NOS tubes), as it's the most reliable, as my fender reissues tubes blown out several times. Good thing I have a amp in a pedal that's saved me when that happened. I've been lucky as the lead guitarist has roland blues cubes, boss katanas, and next tones, plus the bass player has kempers / quad cortexes and we've been using those. Not everyone can pull a John Mayer and have his amp tech insta replace the dumble with another dumble from the set of 5 he has, when it eats a tube or blows up.

    Have you all at vox thought about mass producing Nutubes for all tube amps? Asking because there's inevitably going to be a supply issue due to the global shortage of regular tunes.
    IE is there the ability for these to be put into something like a mesa boogie rectifier or marshall silver jubilee?

    • @justinTime077
      @justinTime077 2 роки тому +1

      Obviously this will need to happen, and soon other companies will do this too. IF this is the way things go.

    • @EndlngAnthem
      @EndlngAnthem 2 роки тому

      @@justinTime077 the thing is theres already a solid state tube, but its Russian made. Its called the AMT warm stone 12ax7. It sounds identical but its a chip instead of an actual vacuum tube, and plugs into a tube socket.
      The technology is there its just a matter of companies investing in the technology, and mass producing it. The best course of action would be for companies to invest in the tech, and produce it all in house that way there isn't only 3 places in the world that produce solid state tubes.

      I was thinking the same thing but the tech never really took off it seems. Maybe the tube shortage will push the tech forward.
      I’m using the Vox Cutting Edge pedal w/ NuTube and it’s far and away the best high gain distortion pedal I’ve ever owned or tried. The dynamics really feel like a true tube preamp.

      This is a very late reply and i’m no expert, but i think the phosphorescent material is what emits the electrons (as well as photons) equivalent of the plate in a conventional Tube.

    The incandescent to fluorescent light bulb analogy is horrible… I can’t think of a single person who would choose fluorescent over incandescent for feel, warmth, or enjoyment. They choose it because it’s efficient.
    With such a new technology in its infancy, statements like that can kill it before it even takes off. Careful my man.
