I've been wanting a black LP with a white pickguard. Wanted one ever since I saw Neal Schon play one in the 80s. But his has a Floyd Rose and a sustainer. Which I would love.
I guess getting it past Customs wasn't a problem.
YT has been screwing up on me as well. If I hovered my cursor over one of the videos shown on the page, it would auto start playing the video as if I clicked on it. I'm not talking about when the video plays and you can select to mute sound or subtitles. It would open the page and play the video.
I am always happy to see anyone wearing a Def Leppard shirt and talking about the greatness of Steve Clark. I adore him and his unique style of playing.

Hey Richard, a little acetone/nail polish remover on a q tip will dissolve the LP custom logo right off your truss rod cover in seconds and there you go, instant black!

What a wonderful song you wrote for this. I do worry about other Chibsons that do have "made in usa" on them that could get sold as real Gibsons. Unfortunately, this does happen.

Oh Richard ~ You did SMC Proud! I just wanna play that jam on repeat like forever man! That guitar is beyond beautiful and a very fitting tribute. I too have so many great memories from the Pyromania and Hysteria concerts. Little did we know it'd be the last time we'd see Steve.

Steve Clark was so valuable to Def Leppard you wouldn't have seen them get in the R and R hall of fame without him
It's sad that the general population of music lovers who talk about "Rock gods" leave him off. It's one of those "if you know, you know" with Steve. Those of us who understand history and music know.

I had the same issue with one seller / factory on AliExpress that built my yellow quilted top last paul. They created the shipping number but never shipped it for months. Kept asking for more and more time and it was 6 months from the time I ordered until the time I actually got it

Steve Clark didn't need a Wammy bar he switched to Firebird during that tour with a Sammy bar in that first song that sounded like Phil Colen playing that solo which is fine he to was a great guitar player but in my humble opinion Steve Clark was the heart and soul of Def Leppard.

I only watched Def Leppard when they were touring from the On Through The Night album when Pete Willis was still in the band. Which seller was that? I was reading another guy's complaint about going on 5 months and still waiting for his guitar to arrive.

Very cool! Did you specify what kind of pickups you wanted? (Vintage? Hot? Magnet types?)
I didn't. Probably medium output ceramic.
This is why I think Chibsons are here to stay: Modern/Norlin specs, I don't know how far you wesnt with the Clark specs but his original one was a Norlin era LP, and some Norlins have a neck that's as thin as an Ibanez Wizard neck, then there's the maple necks and maple fretboards some Les Paul Customs had, or the all mahogany body pre Norlin LPs had, which are good for weight (specially if you are going to paint the guitar on a solid color).
Gibson doesn't offer any of that and there's a lot of us who are tired of the traditional Les Paul specs, a Les Paul can be so much more (surprised you didn't go for the ESP Eclipse neck heel and a tummy cut but I guess that wasn't Steve's), there's the compound radius... etc.

Back in the day it was common knowledge that mark ups were about 40-50% on guitars and amps. That has not changed. Inflation of the name brand guitars we buy is not going into “material cost increases” really, nor to the workers building them. It is going into continuous marketing and into the pockets of executives. These “cheap guitars” IMO are way better than the “cheap guitars” we used to have access to decades ago.
Steve would have been so great to watch grow older and to see his influence and maturity bake into his music and licks. It's a shame when you are an artist and your own worst judge - and you listen to your own criticism and let it ruin you. Ask me how I know.

You can instal a Kahler on your guitar still. Find a Kahler USA made drop in bridge. Then hardest part is installing the locking nut

Lots of pictures and said thin neck with jumbo frets. And a standard Les Paul bridge since they don't have a Kahler. That's it.
