How To Lower Soil PH In The Lawn

If your soil is alkaline then the best way to adjust it is to use a combination of peat moss, acidifying fertilizers, and soil sulfur. High PH soils don't allow lawns to perform well due to nutrient uptake issues. When you lower the PH then the micronutrients can actually be used by the grass giving you a better quality lawn using less fertilizers.

If you really need to lower your PH to acidify your soil for the long run then you absolutely have to include Elemental Sulfur into your plan. Elemental Sulfur is different than the sulfur found in many fertilizers.
When shopping make sure to buy only products labeled elemental sulfur or soil sulfur. Small adjustments can be made with just a few pounds of product per 1000 square feet but larger adjustments need a lot more sulfur than I showed in this video.
