    The difference is you care. Not just about your reputation but about others. Unfortunately that isn't so common these days but good on you for identifying these issues.

    When I was young I used butt connectors. Now I prefer to solder wires together and use heat shrink. Since I started soldering and using heat shrink, I have never had problems with wiring coming apart.

      Same here, I was always chasing some wiring gremlins back when I first started out. After that I started soldering everything

    You take your vehicle to a "repairman" and pay good money just to get a job like this. Then you have to take it to someone else to get the first guy's screwups fixed. I agree with you sir. If you are doing this for a job. do it right and with some pride in your work. You are showing how the average person, who doesn't know, gets ripped off. Thank you for caring and making it right. Need more people like you. Have a great day.

      Hopefully these videos will help people that are looking at the jobs they have done, or a car they plan to buy be more aware when something isn't right.
      And maybe leave a little note in there mind when they do repairs

    I love the 67-72 and the 73-79 ford trucks. I have had a bunch of them over the years and have seen pretty much the same hackery. Thanks for the video. One suggestion though. Show how to solder the wires correctly as some(most?) viewers have only known butt connectors and low temp solder connectors or so it seems from what people have been bringing me.

    If a place can't be arsed to do minor wiring right, would they do the same with mechanical things you don't want failing? It's what worriers me any time I have to get work done I can't either for safety, time, or lack of equipment (I'm a backyard hobby monkey).

    they didn't heat them up hot enough to melt the solder. in those connectors. when it's hot enough it sucks it into the wires and makes a good connection. I have them and use them. it takes a lot of heat.

      @@HotRodGuyGarage If you wouldn't of replied I wouldn't of saw my typo. This could of been another video like the mustang but this time about going with the lowest price shop and getting what you pay for. Death Trap Ford Truck and whatever year it is. That wiring could of caught that truck on fire and if the person had it in a garage it could of burnt the house down with someone in it. With that poor wiring work. They may of been afraid to of wire brushed that frame. That spray maybe holding the frame and rust together. IT could look like swiss cheese if they prepped it before spraying.

    • @HotRodGuyGarage
      @HotRodGuyGarage  Місяць тому +1

      @@JUST_ONE_ID10T I agree it needs about the same amount of work as the mustang and the more I look the more I see. But at least it has a frame 😆 or appears too
