Yes… yes I do.

I clicked on a thumbnail of a jacked truck with an exploding/burning tire. The answer should be self evident.
I can now bravely come out of the closet. #mealso
That's an old trucker trick. I dig it the most, how you included the unsuccessful attempts in the video that you uploaded. Respect for that'n.
ether my guy. works every time..
Good ol' cosby sauce!
Hell yeah. Done this to a 4wheelr tire once and had a lil much in there oopsie. Anyways is that a Tahoe or burban

The Nas song? I know it's a fire track but idk if it's enough to explode a tire to get it mounted.
Ehhh nothings gonna work if your gap is too big lol, that's why his last attempt worked.. Small gap

That line got me too😂😂

I remember my dad showing me and doing this dozens of times and we never made a "safety trail" just straight lit it and prayed it didn't explode in our faces ahhh great memories thanks pops
Only once had one blow on me... couldn't hear for an hour. Lol
I know a guy that tried to do it with a lighter after filling with ether. He now has no thumb. Lol. Can't fix stupid.
@chuckdoom7665 nowadays, you can fix a missing thumb though. 👍
O que faz ser perigoso ou não, é a quantidade de combustível aplicado. Bem,se você colocar pouco não vai dar certo,se você colocar muito, vai dar errado e vai ser perigoso,e se você colocar o suficiente, vai dar certo.

I loved it.
Ratchet strap around the tread of the tire in the center of the tread pattern to force the sidewall towards the seat ring works every time you don’t need either, you don’t need gas just a ratchet strap and a good compressor holding at least 120 psi in a 5 gallon tank
Hello o
Would be awesome if you made a video of that method bro, I've seen several with the flame but non like that.
That's how I do lawn tractor tires thay leak at the bead.... break the bead, re lube it, ratchet strap around the treads, fill her up
Brother I love it, if you’re gonna do something the “wrong way”, at least do it in a semi intelligent manner 😭🤣. Not everything has to follow the book, but it at least needs to make sense!

@_playa_ I made you all a video. Check my Channel.
Use the air compressor to blow air in there right before you light it. It atomizes the starter fluid and gives it a good oxygen ratio! Figured out after five or six failed attempts
Video 2.0: Semitruck edition#Hellyeahbrother
Starter fluid is atomised straight from the can- its why they use ether. Clipping on the tyre chuck only blows ether out of the tyre meaning you have to spray more in to compensate. Only reason people use air also is because when the ether is consumed, the pressure inside starts decreasing as its cooling, and the bead can pull back. Only need to have the air at hand ready to inflate as soon as it pops.
@@rossbrumby1957I think he's talking about blowing it inside the tire with a nozzle, not at the valve stem, helping the puddle of whatever at the bottom to evaporate into the air space of the tire so that you get a more even and rapid combustion. Even ether will puddle at the bottom before all the air inside is saturated, that's why it took this guy 3 tries before the air inside the tire was fully saturated with combustible molecules.
And when the heat stops the tire immediately collapses and usually pulls from the bead.
@@AllangulonThat’s why you fill it to a correct pressure after. 🤦♂️ this is just to get it tight enough to add air 🤦♂️ otherwise you can’t add air. Normally people use a special air pressure tool that shoots in a sudden burst of high pressure air but this is the cheap way.

The reason the fire trick works is because all the flammable material is "vaporized" before being lit up thats why it didnt work the first 2 times. It also works better if you add air at the same time
No one believes me when I tell them that liquid gasoline does not burn only the vapors are flammable
@140630vk that’s just science. Full gas tanks don’t explode. No room for vapor. Almost empty tanks are the most dangerous.
There was too much of a gap between the tire and rim for the explosion to escape. The third time, you could see he readjusted the tire on the rim to where there was less of a gap. It worked.
Teach my man teach.
The reason you use starting fluid is because it flashes faster and blows the tire on the bead, but sometimes you can get other fuels or chemicals to work.
" I sell propane and propane accessories " 😂

My brother loved ether and he did his own tires exactly like this. When I told my ol man to do it to put our boat tire back on he looked at me like I was nuts! I'm like oh dear...imma bout to have to show him something lol.

I commented on that immediately!!! I thought I was the only person who recognized Skinny Pete's twin!! Finally after scrolling the comments for a while I'm finding other people who noticed it too!! Bro is a dead ringer. He could play skinny Pete if they make a spin off show!!
Welp. Live & learn. I actually used this method (off-vehicle) to mount my tires. Can’t use something like brake fluid though. It doesn’t evaporate fast enough. As a standing liquid, it will only slow burn. For this to have an explosive effect, something with more oomph is needed. Enter gum remover. Commercial-grade Diversey or Ecolab stuff. Small cans. Containing a combination of industrial alcohol, butane, & propane; it’s used to flash freeze gum that is then shattered & removed.
A very short shot in between the tire & rim with the lighter at the ready did it. The trick is to not use too much. My mounted tires & rims jumped a foot off the ground & they’re LT tires on steelies! A little dab ‘ll do ya.
Starting fluid! And make sure you have air going into the tire
And make sure not to make a trail on the floor! And use a torch works best when it is cold and windy.
Don’t forget the blinker fluids too
Bingo!!!!😂
You put the air in the tire as soon as it blows. The trail is perfectly fine or just stand back 5 ft and use it like a flamethrower. On a wide rim you need to space the tire somewhat evenly concentrically and between the rims usually I use 2 x 4 s
If you have a way to put air in the tire why the hell would you catch it on fire you idiot
Subscribed the second he said “u like seeing people do sketchy stuff”
yes… yes I do 😂
Bro ive never worked a car or any part of one in my whole life so this was a surprisingly pearl clenching experience from start to finish and then it made me laugh out loud with the inappropriately gleeful "Now its on fire!" at the end there.
😂 So thank you lol
I remember when this wasnt that popular
I just use a ratchet strap but now I feel like I’m missing an opportunity to play with fire.
Indeed you are. 🙃
Ratchet strap was useless on a temporary donut. only luck I've had getting them back on the rim is fire. And it's still a pain in the ass to get the bead set AND then get air in it quickly enough that it doesn't pop the bead back off as the hot air cools. You need to be on that valve stem with a compressor ASAP. Ot already have an air pump attached to the valve stem and running and just let it take the thump of the pressurization when you light it on fire. Also helps if it's something with a quick burn rate like alcohol, the propagation rate of gasoline seemed to suck and just shoot fire out the rim. 91% iso is like boom! :)
At first, I wasn't concerned, but then you said "It only needs to last for two laps". Two laps of what?! That's what has me concerned. 😭👍
Same bro most people are over looking that like what😂😂😂
I’m amazed it holds air!🤦🏻♂️😮
Starting fluid only works like a charm every time
The K2 bar is such a Juicy line though. 😂
As a Floridian, his part was hilarious.
I usually wrap a ratchet strap around the rim and compress the tire. It helps. ❤
It always works for me. It also doesn't take a chance of burning the vehicle up.
I came here to recommend the same thing! Works like a charm. 😊
On our carts we just use a ratchet strap and skip the fire. Sometimes releasing the strap gets tricky.
Yep. Or a rope with stick to twist it tight if you're in a pinch and don't have a ratchet strap or the tire is too small for a ratchet strap.
Good way to see a ratchet strap go flying
Aayyy I did it!! “Now it’s on fire!”🔥😂😂😂
16:23 evil laugh as he says we might have to eat a baby is hilarious 😂
You use starting fluid, not break cleaner. Also it helps if you put a ratchet strap around the tire so the tire doesn't expand vertically, only horizontally onto the rim.
Jeff ? 😁
starting fluid and a little blast of air from the compressor to get the fuel air mixture proper does the trick every time.
It helps if you ratchet strap the tire a little tighter to sorta/kinda seat the bead. All that jetting of flame is usually what makes the tire *pop* onto the bead. Also, ether is the way to go, Brake Cleaner, and gasoline DO work, but ether works best in my experience.
Yea it would have worked a lot faster if he took a ratchet strap and wrapped it around the center of the tire to apply some pressure. I've done this many times receding the bead back on the tire while out 4-Wheeling!
Do you use a ratchet strap all the way around, say like an X pattern with 2 straps or just one strap to keep the top and bottom tight. I'm just imagining there would be too much vapor if all sides were pressed into the wheel and then combust too much?? Never seen it happen in other videos but I'd like to try myself
@@1Turnatatimedude like an O strap olong the outside of the tire tread
You put the strap around the outside of the tire so when you tighten it the walls are pushed out a little more. But the RS technique is the way to go!
@mossoconnor4417 yeah I think I had a D in Geometry, jkjk thanks for helping me out 😆
When possible have an air line connected and blow air into the tire, it helps get that bead on faster.
Also, starting fluid in my experience works best cause its lights up fast.
The faster the ignighting fluid lights the better it'll work.
Great video, hope those suggestions help out for next time.
I first saw this done on a Nat Geo program, where they drove 2 Toyota 4X4s with enormous balloon tires across either the pack-ice of the North Pole area, or across an Iceland Glacier. When a tire got holed and needed patching, they put it back on and re-inflated it this way. With ether starting fluid.
WHOOO-MMPPP!!!!!
So, I convinced my autobodyman/ mechanic Dad to do this when we couldn't seat the bead on a stubborn tire.
WHOOOO-MMMPP There it is!!!
I love that don't quit attitude. 🤘😂
The safest way I've seen this sketchy stuff done.
I like how you smartly make a trail of flammable liquid to take the place of a fuse. This is the smartest version of this very dangerous bush fix I've seen yet.
I just out the bic lighter near the bead n spark. Only burned my hand n arm 1 time. Also if no lighter/matches use jumper cables to make a spark. Works in a pinch(thanks space cadet). Got that idea when i was ridin in the work truck and he didn't have a light for his cig. Held a paper clip across the cb radio hot posts till the paper clip got glowing red. Also use pliers to hold paper clip, OUCH!
My grandpa showed me this once on a hunting trip. Only took him one try, but that is experience for ya. God, I miss him and grandma… they were quite the characters

Yee Haw! (Insert the Dixie horn here)
Works alot better if you add air the same time you light whatever flammable liquid you use. That being said you need use less of it because your adding more air & can stop a vacuum from happening on smaller tires
-this has been my tedtalk thx
You can usually wrap a rachet strap around the middle of the tire and squeeze it to flex out the sidewall enough to put air in and pop the bead. Definitely not as fun as explosions tho
Every time I see this done I’m always amazed lol
This was the greatest thing ive ever seen in my life, im not even kidding.

If you had the tire set right it would work
Not always if it's cold.
At least in my experience you have to do it a few times just to get the rubber up to temp and soften it up a lil and then they set nice and easy.
But I live at the Canadian boarder (basically) and it actually gets cold here

Next time, connect your air hose.
To the Valve stem while you're lighting the starting fluid or ether I've done it both ways but it works a lot quicker for large tires if you air flow For back pressure At the same time as igniting the ether. It will mount or bead to the rim. Quicker, that way. Either way, works. It just helps to have air.
Glad the algorithm hasn't unalived this yet. 😁

THIS is what UA-cam was meant for! Thank you!😊
Also. Use starter fluid next time. Much more energy when it ignites.
bro wasnt scared of it exploding
That’s my favorite method for tires
Loggie 😮
We usually use acetylene and oxygen. You light a cutting torch, optimize the fuel mixture as if you were going to make a cut, snuff out the flame, then place the tip of the torch unlit with the gas flowing into the tire, back up, and introduce a spark, presto your tire is mounted !
Even if the rim is twice as wide as the tire !
That way is extremely dangerous. Ether not so. I used to work at a muffler shop, and we would play with the torches like that. We would invert coffee cups, and poke a little hole. That small amount, was louder than m80s. One time, a guy filled a balloon, about 10 or 12 inches. He put under an inverted galvanized garbage can, with a toilet paper wick, about 150 feet from the building. The concussion was so great, it blew the office door open, and all that was ever found of the garbage can, was the handles.
Glad to see an attempt at safety with the fuse! Still not doing one myself even at that distance after seeing one rip itself off the axle though.
