    • @carick235
      @carick235 3 роки тому +15

      It's very safe in Belgrade, and even more rest of Serbia. I would say much safer than most of Western Europe from my experience. I came to Belgrade to study at University from smaller city in central Serbia and for years living here I never had any safety related issue, not even pickpocketing (of course u should be careful but its not so common) , you can walk even at 3 am without worry honestly. Crime exist like anywhere in the world, but if u are not involved in it (for example into buying/selling drugs and such) you will not see it and they will not be a threat to u. And over 80% of people under 40 speak english, we have english from the first grade of elementary school, while older generations that grew up in communist era had Russian/German in school so maybe 20% of them speak it.

    • @HeyVernTravels

      Rats seem to be found where food is, and around the oldest cities. So I can't blame NY personally. But I am not a big fan of many big cities, but I loved Belgrade. Not as busy as NY, but I would prefer it also. I have quite a few NY friends that call NY home, but for different reason. To them it is familiar, maybe interesting, maybe a chaos they enjoy. I'm from Liverpool UK, there's homeless in every underpass, it is for me, the lowest standard of living in Europe along with Albania. (I live in Central Belgrade, Vracar), corruption is pandemic scale, you get prison for possessing a joint, massive problem with dog shit (you're fined 100$ if you don't scoop where I'm from), it's litter strewn, graffiti everywhere. trains run under our apartment 24/7 yet services stop at 12 (they transport hazardous waste illegally, at night, a few weeks back ammonia leaked and killed people, I've been asked for equivalent of £100 fine on tram despite I tried to pay (they moved on when I spoke Serb), been fined £25 to enter the nation I lived in because they're pissed off with Kosovo, if I ask you to come here when you arrive I have to take you local police station to register you. 10:16 that's not a bad business there. $2 each, that's a decent profit with all that massive clientele. In orange beach Alabama, a couple weeks ago I was paying $5 for an ice-cream cone, that was smaller than the one you bought. $10 would have gotten me a "large" piece. Prices in the US are so crazy!

      Hey Leplane, $10 for an ice cream cone is so crazy!! Maybe it is time to open an ice cream soft serve ha. I agree the USA prices have gone off the deep end, especially for events like games and concerts, just so much greed.

      no sea(but montenegro is near..was not long ago same country )

    • @carick235

      The biggest drawback are low wages for people that are born here, but if u come here to live as an expat with some income (pension or digital nomad) you will have no worry in your life. There is actually a growing number of people from Western Europe coming to live here, since it's safe, infrastructure is ok and everything is a lot cheaper (food is even better quality since there is no gmo, and u have open green markets in every part of the city). As for sea someone mentioned, i wouldn't say that's a drawback, you have Adriatic coast and Greece just 2-3 hours away by plane, and even Belgrade have great public swimming pools in every part of the city and also big Ada lake beach.

    Hows age gap dating Vern? Compared to phils?

    • @scandmaster
      @scandmaster 3 роки тому +6

      I can tell you that. You don't see many age gap datings in Serbia if you think about middle aged white fat men dating 20 yo girls.
      Serbian girls don't see you as a naive white man walking wallet who will take care of the girls whole family just to get some 😉😉😁😁😋.
      hyyyaaaa. They don't have that mindset. And in the other hand they are not poor as Philipino girls mostly are, they don't need to play that game. But of course you have a small percentage of younger girls there called "sponzoruše" who's lifestyle is to get sponsored by men with money, gifts, shopping, nightlife etc. But will they date you steady? I'm not sure, unless you're very rich.
      But, don't worry, a normal Serbian woman like 35-50 years today I still better looking and more lady like than most women in Western Europe. So I would go for that if you have similar age. Like 10 years or so difference is often no problem to find some good woman.

    • @HeyVernTravels
      @HeyVernTravels  3 роки тому

      Is a much younger crowd here, not sure as I haven't been out clubbing or know an answer. Women like security, older guys are often more secure. So is it possible..sure..But unknown to what ratio, maybe low imho.

    • @HeyVernTravels
      @HeyVernTravels  3 роки тому +2

      I find it interesting that most have no idea that in the older world, especially the USA age gap relationship was very common. It was not limited to Asia. Not everyone that seeks age gap is loveless or shallow that is another misconception brought on by a 1st world jaded mentality pushing an agenda. Men who put women on pedestals tend to get taken advantage of. I believe that 10 year mentality was a taught mentality not a true to life human reality way of thinking, it is a disaster in the making. Look at the lonliness in the USA, 60 percent divorce rate. Yea to me I am unlearning that sham I was taught...why..because it doesn't work... If it worked and people were happy and married and in great relationships...perfect...but that ain't reality......
