DONT FORGET ..... if you go liner, make sure you order quite a bit larger than the pond size .,...at least 10 ft for the overhang and enough extra to bury and no chance it will pull and stretch ....but you will need a overhang ...if you order it the size of the water you want to see it will be really short

Also, don't forget that the pond isn't flat. If it's 1 square acre, and you order 1 square acre of material, you're gonna be considerably short.

I have a perfect idea: for the deeper parts of the pond, use a liner covered by sand; for the shallows, use the clay; it will be cheaper to do both but in smaller quantities. You will have guaranteed retention with the liner, and you will also have natural edges.
What about the seam between the liner and the clay?
The clay is permeable...

My suggestion was to just cover the liner with clay for the natural look, I would also probably put in some gravel in some of the shallower areas for panfish to spawn
@@willstarnes1246 I would normally say no , if it was a creek fed lake .... but with it being pump spring fed the silt problem with natural creek inlet doesn't exist , so putting soil in really wouldn't hurt anything ....but you have to remember anything else he puts in needs to beable to withstand cleaning and such ....or maybe just totally bury the liner and it wouldn't have to be clay and still be more natural
If the liner fails or gets a hole in it, there's nothing stopping the water from draining out of the liner besides emptying all the water and fixing the liner.. but like welding, the liner around the patch becomes weaker
If you get the clay and bentonite and there's a hole you could put bentonite sodium clay to plug the leak
You'd "just" (say that like is that easy) have to add more Bentonite instead of fixing or even replacing the liner
You have the it factor...you need to have your own national show in the main stream!!! Real talk!!!!

If you are worried about damaging the liner, you can spread screened dirt over the liner to protect it.
We have done landfill cell installation where they installed a liner, and we come back with fill over top. If it works for the bottom of a landfill cell, it will work for your pond, and you can still build structures in the pond

Hey flair just remember if you do a liner when you go to build your dock or whatever you build. You won’t be able to drive the post down so you would have to do a floating dock or something like that. You might want to go ahead and build whatever it is you want to build then line it and try and seal it.

I have a liner pond and it lasted about 20 years before leaking and it was from a tree that fell and poked a hole in it. Was a simple fix also

what you should do is get a big bin and drill holes on the bottom then put dirt from your pond in it then use clay, bentonite, clay test if that is good and see if it can hold. another thing is getting a small piece of pond liner and test it out with a fishing lure if it breaks or tears. But if both works choose which one is cheaper but do testing.

My dad works in the oil field. They use liners for oil pits and water pits. He said they are pretty strong and it shouldn’t rip and leak. He has a water pit with a liner that’s 50 years old. He said it’s a great idea

When it come to the pond I have to say I think clay and bentonite are the way to go. While low water input can be an issue, a liner is probably going to cause more issues. The best way to create a good fishery is to make it its own ecosystem and to do that you need a good bottom and lots of plants, invertebrates, and fish. To make that work with a liner you would have to put sand and other medium on top of the liner potentially ruining it.

Flair go with bentonite you can always put the humps in the pond with bentonite and rock structures will be great also I work for a grading company and we use it all the time for sealing ponds you just over dig the pond 12-18 inches put in the bentonite and then cover it back up with the dirt you dug out very simple but time consuming

The marble allows you to have a good pour on the vermoon. There should be too indents in the glass at the neck where the marble is and depending on how you pour or drink it and the marble is to signifie its a fresh drink that hasn't been opened too. Ive been drinking them for years and i first learned about them from a foreign exchange student i went to school with who was from Japan

Cast iron, butter, onion, get the onions starting to caramelize, throw the quail in and a splash of bourbon, put a lid on it, kill heat, let it sit 15 minutes. Perfection everytime
We have a swimming pound with a liner and we put sand over it but you could probably put dirt over it and Barry it so it still natural habitat for fish but you still have a liner on the bottom of all of it
For an appetizer or a little snack you have to try dipping Frito scoops into cream cheese with raspberry chipotle sauce on top. it is really good
