  • It seems like every disability patient I see has been diagnosed as mentally ill. Although some are, I think most are mentally normal people under a lot of stress.
In this video I discuss when is a person mentally ill, and the major categories of mental illness.
In Part 3 of this series I will go over the things folks - mentally ill or not - can do to improve their mental health.

I feel compelled to write something here. I’ve been very sick for a long time. Without giving a lot of details it’s both mental and physical. I got scheduled for a mental ce for my disability claim and have found nothing but conflicting unhelpful information or really generalized advice. I’m trying to find the best way to summarize my mental problems and how to do that in an hour long appointment when I have problems explaining or expressing things through the spoken word. I’m better alone and in writing. I’m sorry I am rambling a little. I just want to say thank you for making these videos. I’m only 9 minutes into this second video on mental examinations and found myself tearful because the things you’re listing as real mental problems match me so closely that it’s beginning to reaffirm that maybe there are people out there who actually care. My appointment is on the 27th and I plan on watching as many of these as I can. I feel very alone and unprepared. I seriously cannot thank you enough. Hope you have a nice week.
