    13:47 I’d go a little further. Maureen’s relationship with her children seemed about as strong. Not once throughout the novel did she come across to me as nurturing or “motherly”, the way Bam came across as hard-working and “fatherly”.

      Hey...I would like to give you my opinion as you have argued on an important issue of the novel in regard to the theme of "communication". I accept your idea because Maureen when she meets her husband and children at the end of the story , has no more recognition. She's totally neglected. Novel says" they were chattering and said nothing to her when she appeared, as if they thought she had been there all time"...even her children are fine with relationship with their father.
