Definitely my favourite beauty youtuber right now. Every single video is so informative and just done so well, unlike all the other "beauty influencers". You actually care about the educating your viewers on makeup rather than just slapping on some makeup in a tutorial.. AMAZING, honestly the best aussie on youtube right now.
This is a combination-dry skin type dream foundation video! I have tried the new reformulated Bourjois Healthy Mix and for some strange reason the shade selection is very beige now. I always have to mix it in with a more yellow based foundation. And my current favourite are the Lancome Teint Idole both the liquid and stick (I think you would enjoy these!). And I must say thank you for all your comprehensive reviews here on UA-cam and I truly sincerely appreciated that it wasn't a " I mixed all my foundations" video because lately I've been feeling the community is lacking depth in product knowledge by favouring more teenage like content. You've always been one of my absolute favourites on UA-cam because you are thorough and you're a great teacher. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge because I have learned a lot from you the past few years. Awesome video! :)
Agree with your assessment of the reformulated Bourjois Healthy Mix. It pulled kinda pink on me for some reason and it's definitely not olive-friendly anymore :( I also just didn't like how it looked as much as I liked the old formula.
Yes! I recall the new Bourjois looking very beige, I think that's why I didn't purchase the new formula (boo). Thank you for your kind words! ❤️ I really appreciate it 😘
Can't afford 99% of the products you recommend, but can appreciate how thorough your videos are! would love to see more affordable products in the future!
It's sadly always been my experience that drugstore foundations for dry skin suck. I spent hundreds of dollars trying to find one, but couldn't. Now I spend less on my eyeshadows, mascara, etc., so that I can afford a higher end foundation that actually works for my skin-type.
Lauren Cain True... the foundation are on expensive side. But one thing I want to say- youtubers/beauty gurus uses and reviews every other foundation that launch in market as a part of their job. Some foundations that they praised for few months and than disappears from their favourite lists, and some remains in their favourite list forever. And those are the few high end foundations that we can invest in by saving some money. For example luminous silk is the foundation that launched years back, even that is her favorite foundation since last many years and it is her favourite even today...that means it must an investment piece. That’s just my opinion and analysis of this video..
Samantha Warren L’Oréal’s Lumi magique Foundation is great. I find it a good dupe for By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Foundation. The Rimmel Wake me Up was pretty good too but I preferred Lumi Magique. Maybelline Fit Me is also a great foundation for dry skin.
Lauren Cain affordable is a relative term. What may be affordable to you, won’t be for someone else. There are a ton of videos on “less expensive” foundations that are available. Wet n Wild has their photofocus foundation for 5.99. It’s awesome! Nyx total coverage is also a good one.
Your skin looks beautiful (per usual). I also really appreciate how articulate you are. You and Sharon we're here first beauty UA-camrs I watched and I didn't realize how I inadvertently stumbled on some of the best first. Thanks for sharing your passion with us!
Agreed. The video editing is one of the best I have seen among beauty Ytubers. Plus Karima is fun, and light hearted without being silly. Her reviews are honest. The tutorials are realistic with wearable and gorgeous looks.
ah, Karima. You've outdone yourself... seriously this was SO. GOOD. I am so happy to find a youtuber aware of their olive tones! As a WOC with olive undertones I FEEL YOU on the hunt for the perfect shade. I'd love to see your favorite foundations for olive tones or a how to identify olive tones and how they differ from standard warm/cool undertones. You explain everything so well! Cheers from Dallas x
Honestly, the best way to determine an olive foundation is to have a reference point. For example, I know that Luminous Silk 6/Koh Gen Do Aqua 213/Make Up Store Sculpt Excellence in Coconut are very green. Once you've determined one greenish foundation, take it to the store with you and swatch other foundations next to it. Let them set and inspect in natural light. It will become very obvious which foundations appear to be in the 'same realm' of that green foundation and which foundations are totally off (orange or pink by comparison). Do this exercise a few times and you'll develop an eye for it 😉 xx
Hello friends normal to dry skin here.My Top 5 foundations 1. Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder 2.Bourjois Helthy mix 3. Smashbox STUDIO SKIN 15 HOUR WEAR HYDRATING FOUNDATION 4. L'oreal Accord Parfait Fluide 5. Burberry Cashmere Foundation Armani Luminous silk is good but for me and my skin type is a average foundation. I don't use much Kiss from Paris
Well, extremely oily skin, strong yellow undertone, NC25. My 2 faves for now are Estee Lauder Double Wear (in 2w2) in light layer and the new Dior Undercover foundation in 021. The Dior seems to be THE ONE for now (this is my 5th day testing it, got samples for about 7 uses). I don't set it, no concealer, no primer... looks FLAWLESS, it stays on for 5-6 hours and just then I start to get oily, which is A DREAM. When I do get oily, my imperfections don't peak through. So, when I blot my face, I look fresh and have nothing to touch up... this seems too good to be true for me. 🙏🏻 I will wait for 2 more days to see if it will break me up, if not, I am getting one.🥂
Whoooaa, gurl! I was looking for a natural, radiant, sheer foundation. You read my mind! 😱 P.S. I received the goodies last week. I'm not sure if you received my email but THANK YOU. I love it so very much. You are some kind of wonderful, Karima. 😘💕
You are my favorite from the 20+ beauty youtuber I watch!! I NEED to meet you!! so thorough, elegant, concise, and unique. I watch even though I have one of the most extreme oily skin type.
This vid is like my Holy Grail of foundation vids, I have an olive skin tone (like you) and the struggle is soooooooo real when trying to find my perfect shade so thank you thank you thank you for doing this vid. You rock Karima xxx
As a dry skinned girl this is the best thing ever! My current favorite foundations are the Koh Gen Do Aqua and Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint. I also really like the It Cosmetics CC+ but the lightest shade is still to dark and a little yellow for me on it's own so I mix it with the Hourglass one or with my Koh Gen Do Moisture foundation since they're both ever so slightly on the pink side for me. I have quite fair and slightly cool undertone, but just ever so slightly, and it can be a real pain trying to find a shade light enough that isn't too pink or too yellow. I recently tried the Elcie foundation and it's a bit too matte/drying for me on it's own and the shade porcelain is a tad too yellow but to keep it from going to waste I've been mixing it with my Koh Gen Do Aqua and that gives me a nice satin medium/buildable formula.
Thank you thank you thank you!!! You are my tone match. Your shade is just a touch darker but I follow you blindly when it comes to olive toned foundations. Your application techniques and the skin like finish you go for is exactly what my 30 year old skin needs. You’ve been such a game changer for me in the way I apply and buy makeup. Thank you for being so thorough 😘😘😘 I’ve been waiting for this foundation video since I’ve started following you. ..I think I may watch your videos too much. I guessed your top foundations lol. 😂. Favourite foundation is bourjois healthy mix in shade 51 mixed with 52.
Please do a video on this eye look, it's so stunning 💕 I love all of your videos, you're so informative and a pleasure to listen to, so respect for that. Big fan here from Ireland 😊 xx
This was the most helpful youtube makeup video I've ever watched. No long intro with cringey poses, to the point...just when I thought all hope was lost and all beauty influencers were the same!
Don't know about the reformulated version of the Healthy Mix but the Serum one: TOP! Also, I really enjoy the bareminerals Complexion Rescue, sheer coverage and very nice finish: glowy and skinlike. I have mostly dry skin and my forehead is a little bit combo. The Luminous Silk (mostly your fault), Lingerie de Peau from Guerlain and the Ultra HD from MUFE are on my: to try list.
Every single one of your videos for me is pure gold in reference material, I literally watch over and over again and take notes lol. Foundation favourites would be It Cosmetics cc cream, Armani Luminous Silk and I also quite enjoy the Clinique Superbalanced Silk and Mac F&B. I am also a member of the dry, sensitive skin club. REALLYYY need to get on the cushion foundation train.
I don't even wear foundation but I will watch anything you post, Karima! ANYTHING lol. If I were to start wearing foundation, I'd know exactly where to go for excellent, trusted recommendations. Your effort, organization and quality of your videos does not go unnoticed. Thank you!
I came back to this video 3 times since you put it up. Went to Sephora and picked out some great foundations that I loveeeeee for my dry skin. I must say, the cushion foundations are the most "skin like" that I've tried, and will forever stick to. Your the bestest.😘
My favorite two foundations are the Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation and the Hourglass Vanish foundation. And both purchases were inspired by you, Karima! You have never steered me wrong! ❤❤❤
Your videos are by far the most articulate and educational beauty videos I watch...and I LOVE that.🤓 Love how you pull off red/pinks/coppers, looks so good. 🤗
I'm dry/combo, so my favorites change with the seasons. Winter: L'Oreal Pro Glow. If I'm extra dry, I'll add a drop of liquid highlight. If I'm extra extra dry, I'll add liquid highlight and a drop of jojoba oil. Every other season: Wet n Wild Photofocus. When my nose and forehead are extra oily, I'll use Cover Girl Ready, Set Gorgeous there and WnW everywhere else. Karima, I love watching your videos. Thank you so much for the high quality, entertaining content.
Thank you Karima! Watching your videos has finally convinced me to actually confirm I have an olive undertone. I refused to believe it since I'm so pale (like Nars Siberia throughout the winter pale). I swatched every every foundation I own on my wrist and sure enough, they were all pink or peach looking on me and for the first time I could actually see the green in my skin. Since then I've been on a mission to sample every olive foundation I could get my hands on, with the only problem of them being way too dark. So I see you using a white mixer, and I'm like yes I'll get one! Went out and bought the Body Shop Lighting Drops then hurried home to try them out. Welp, turns out the drops have a tiny bit of pink pigment in them and by the time the foundations are my shade, they look peach on my skin again!! So long story short, I just ordered Giorgio Armani Maestro in 0 and Luminous Silk in 6, and holy crap I'm excited to try them! Thank you for the amazing advice and recommendations for olive skin!!
You talking about the YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation made me happier than it's probably socially acceptable hahaha I LOVE that foundation! I sometimes use the Zoeva 110 brush to apply before smoothing it out with the "sponge" if I need a higher coverage. The funny thing is that I came here looking for inspirations for a new foundation that could be just as good as that one!
It’s like you have read my mind! I was on the market for a new foundation and you have just gave me all the answers I need. Thanks! You’re really good at describing product and your videos are a pleasure to watch.
Coming back to this video months later because I recently bought the makeup store sculpt excellence and I NEED to rave about it to anyone who will listen. 😝 I have a very similar skin type/tone to you, and this foundation is making me look absolutely flawless while still feeling very lightweight. I'm amazed! Thank you so much for the thoughtful recommendations and reviews! ❤️
So close, I guessed fusion ink cushion, luminous silk and hourglass! Loved this video, didn't realise how much I needed it till I saw it. I have normal/dry skin and after alot of trial, error and your recommendations my two favourite foundations are tarte rainforest of the sea and luminous silk. Gotta say: you know your foundations.
Please do a part 2 of this! It would be so awesome to see just the foundation on your face so we can see what it actually looks like. Love your videos! Thanks for all your knowledge!
The Armani cushion is my absolute go to! I have quite oily skin so it's an actual dream come true for a beautiful, natural makeup day! Can get a little oily after a good couple hours but it wears really well for me. I also think the puff is genius, wish all cushion foundations made them that shape!
I recently discovered your channel and I must say I'm enjoying it a lot. I was tired of watching the same people from years now so watching you feels really refreshing especially because of your personality, I really like you and the way you express your love for makeup (something we definitely share). Great work! Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
I don't wear foundation usually, probably like once a week or so, but per your recommendation I bought the YSL cushion and I LOVED IT. this, the CT hit and miss, and the 3 looks 1 palette CT are my top 3 favourite videos of yours! you're my favourite youtuber also Xx
This was so incredibly helpful. Always love and appreciate your content, Karima. You’re such a standout compared to the often ill informed, dramatic, immature beauty youtubers. Thanks for creating content that actually helps consumers. xo
The first high end foundation EVER that i bought, was the lasting silk, recommended by you. If they discontinue it I'll cry. Such a great, light formula with great coverage.
You were already my make up encyclopedia, now you actually made one! Thanks! I used to have very oily skin, now it’s normal to dry and I have found myself relying more and more on your recommendations. I am now longing to try the Armani luminous silk, I will go get a sample! I am super pale, so sometimes it is hard to find a shade match. I do like the Too Faced peach perfect comfort matte foundation in the shade Snow. It’s almost a little too light, and sometimes clings to dry patches on my face but it’s kind of the best I’ve found so far. I really love that it doesn’t transfer. If you decide to make more of these encyclopedic videos, I am always up for watching them. I’d love to see an eyeliner video. I have very sensitive eyes, I’m just so hesitant to buy new liquid eyeliner, and especially anything for the waterline. Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Your delivery the info provided the pace your knowledge and your gorgeousness other UA-camrs should take note - stunning interesting enjoyable no lulls no me me me like so many others you’ve kept it about the products 👏👏👏👏👏
Beautiful skin Karima, as always! I have oily and acne prone skin and I love: Vichy aera teint (It is discontinued) for light coverage, for medium La roche posay mineral foundation (it is a powder foundation, I use this everyday), for medium to full: La roche posay toleriane teint and Vichy dermablend. This two I apply with a brush and really work the foundation into the skin, lots of swirls 😁 this way I achieve long wearing, full coverage base but without shifting during the day (in fact dermablend stays even on my sweaty face in club!), for setting I use pure silica, this is just Make up forever HD powder but a lot cheaper option 😅 this one blurs my pores like crazy and I develop just a little bit of a healthy shine and not my typical "frying fries" face with it! Lots of love! xx
My favorite foundation in MAC Pro Longwear foundation. I have normal skin. This foundation makes my skin look so smooth and perfect. I constantly get compliments when I wear this foundation!
I am always on the look out for a full coverage, but also glowy and hydrating foundation. So far I've only found one that ticks all those boxes. It's the Lancome Teint Idole Cushion. This foundation is criminally underrated. I think it's because Lancome has made the mistake of calling this a matte foundation. This is in no way matte, in fact it's almost glossy! It's incredibly thin and goes on full coverage which can be sheered out if desired. Oh and I'm extremely pale with golden/neutral undertones and the lightest shade is a perfect match. Most companies don't even make a color light enough for me so that alone made this foundation perfect. Seriously people, give this foundation a chance! Also, Karima please tell us what is on your eyes in this video! It's gorgeous and I need it in my life!
Epic vid Karima! Nars Sheer Glow and Lancôme Teint Idole ultra are my two holy grail, most repurchased, will forever be in my stash of foundations. Fantastic shade range for women of color, and excellent formula. I have mature, dry combo, sensitive to very highly fragranced foundations.
Karima, even when I have oily skin, your recommendations have led me to owning a few HG foundations like Koh Gen Do Aqua, Armani Lasting Silk, etc. You're always my top reviewer.
For my neutral fair combo-oily acne prone skin, I’ve not found a single foundation that I like better than Fenty. The shade match is impeccable, it’s long wearing, and the coverage is amazing. 💗💗💗
I love that L’Oreal matte foundation - with the matching primer it is really lovely on my combination/oily skin. Also Estée Lauder Double Wear Light. Both just look flawless for the WHOLE day. 🙌🏻
I read a comment once where a woman said she mixed a tiny bit of a blue liquid lipstick into her foundation to take it from yellowish to olive. In the mood for some makeup science?
I purchased this set of pigments: camerareadycosmetics.com/products/temptu-sb-8-pc-hi-def-color-starter-kit-1-4-oz They're silicone based and mix well with most of my foundations. I mostly use the green shade but depending on how peachy a foundation leans, blue is useful too 😊 xx
Karima! This could not have come at a better time!! I was thinking about buying my first full coverage foundation tomorrow and this video was absolutely perfect, thanks so much!!!!
My holy grail for 8 years has been MAC MINERALIZE MOISTURE. However... as you mentioned, like all other amazing dewy foundations, it is now discontinued!!! Honestly struggling for 2 years to find a foundation that even comes close to it. Face and body does not do the trick for me either. :( Thus, I cannot tell you how HAPPY I am to come across your channel, especially because you deliver INFORMATIVE, CREDITED, EXCEPTIONAL videos. I am also NC25, normal to dry, olive skin, so you can imagine how freakin happy I am to come across this video and fortunately your page! YOU ARE A DREAM. You are the first ever UA-camr I have subscribed to, and the first one I have ever left a comment on. Seriously blessed to have you on youtube lol.
Brilliant video :) Could you possibly do a video on the best foundations you've found specifically for really pale olive skin? Also, it would be wonderful if you created your own line of foundations for olive skin-tones (including really pale olive - basically impossible to find)!
Thank you so much Karima!! 😄 This video has helped me so much. You're literally my skin twin. I'm dry too, same skin shade, everything. It's so hard to find a olive toned foundation that is a perfect match but you've made it so much easier. I love watching your foundation videos I don't have to spend months being unsuccessful finding a foundation 🤗
I feel the shade thing so much! My favourite foundation is Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless in 100, because it is light enough AND yellow toned. It doesn't even last that well on my skin, but the fact that I don't have to mix it makes me reach for it very often.
Hello Karima! Thanks for your review! You are so beautiful and that eyeshadow today is amazing! I am 53 years old, religiously use my Retin A and vitamin c serums, so my skin type is on the dry side. I really love the La Mer Soft Fluid Foundation. Beautiful coverage and finish - would like longer wear from it, though.
girl i literally guessed all 3 of ur favs!! love your videos and your personality soooo much!!! you make me laugh and sum up products so well and so articulately
I love this type of video!! Armani luminous silk is my favorite and the light wonder is on my list to buy for summer!! I would love to see more videos like this!! Maybe a favorite lip brands/products and colors. Favorite reds, roses, nudes, brights, glosses, liquid matte, liquid gloss, lip liners, etc.
I love my Giorgio Armani Cushion! It is always in my handbag! But I do agree, during Winter, it did the slightest cling to dry spots but nothing too bad. But now that I have normal to combination skin, it is freaking amazing!
Great video!!! I think you should do a similar powders-video. I know, I know, you love the RBR diaphanous powder and the CT next, but, it would be nice if you did a top powder roundup video for different types of uses, for example: best for eye setting, best luminous powder, best powder for photos, best everyday use etc. No pressure, I am justing begging you * hugs * :D
OMG WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFEEE?!!! I literally just found you and I am soooo in loooove!! I have literallyyyy been searching for a video like this for soooo long, I am going to binge-watch all your videos!! This was legit love at first sight for me!! Keep doing you girl! ❤💜
The RMK UV liquid foundation is literally my HOLY GRAIL and no one ever talks about it! Amazing for my combination oily skin, has SPF 50 PA+++ for Everyday use and the texture is light as air with sheer to medium coverage. I also like a bunch of RMK’s other foundations, like their gel and cream ones for a more full coverage look. Their packaging isn’t flashy, which is the case with most Japanese brands but I love that. Please go check out their range! They deserve so much more love! ❤️👌
I have combo-oily skin and these are my favourites : Sheer : NARS Radiant Tinted Moisturiser. Most TMs are too greasy for me and just don't seem to do anything, but the NARS TM visibly evens out my skin tone and makes my face look healthy and radiant, like it says! It is on the dewy side but not overly so and easily tamed with some powder. Medium : Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless. It says Matte, but imo it's more of a satin-matte formula that still looks very skin-like. High : Fenty Pro-Filt'r. This isn't the kindest foundation if you have lots of texture, but I like it because it gives me really good coverage without feeling at all heavy or cakey on me. It's also matte but not dry-looking.
Favorite foundation for the past two years is a mixture. Mac Face and Body White with Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint in Light. Just the perfect everything for me. I'm normal skin who tends to get a little shiny on the nose at the end of the day.
This video is brilliant!! Make it a video tag!!!!!! I just hate when beauty gurus make foundation reviews looking just for full coverage!! Not everyone likes or wear full coverage for every occasion! Loveeeee this video
Hi, Karima! First of all: LOVE every single one of your videos. If all UA-cam channels disappeared but I had the chance to save just one, yours would hands down be my pick. Back to makeup: how would you compare Bourjois Healthy Mix and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk silicone-slippery-texture-wise (lol)? I just hate the feel of products that are too slippery (such as primers), but somehow I can get away with Healthy Mix, despite its high silicone content (and it's my favorite foundation, btw).
And oh, thank you SO much for opening my eyes and making me realize I'm also an olive girl. Because of you I discovered why I've struggled so much trying to find foundation matches throughout the years!
We have the same taste in foundation. I love everyone one of the foundation I've tried I love. You're the only person I completely agree with regarding foundation.
Wow I just discovered your channel today and am wondering why I’ve never watched you before!? Your videos are so informative and you can tell how much effort you put into them. Love it! Also am so happy we share the same skin type!
So I don't need anymore foundations but since my skin type is pretty much the same my wish list suddenly grew. My favourite drugstore- Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation. Used it for about 5 years now. Nuff said. My favourite foundation of all time- Kevyn Aucoin Etherealist Skin Illuminating Foundation. Its sheer but so stunning on the skin. It literally makes you glow in all the right ways. Super underhyped
I’m oooooilllyyy and god I love sheer expert. I can’t wear it on a long day in summer but if I’m just out for a few hours its absolute heaven. So smoothing and I find the texture unclockable
I have oily skin (except for around the mouth and chin area). My top three foundations, in no particular order: Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte; Estee Lauder Double Wear Light; Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear. My favorite primers are the Dr. Barbara Sturm/Monika Blunder Anti-Aging Primer all over the face with the Too Faced Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Primer on the T-zone. Favorite setting powder is the Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder.
Thank you for this informational video! I have an oily skin type and never wear foundation but WANT TO! The L'Oreal Pro Matte Foundation you mentioned is where I'll start! I'm excited to be informed!!! THANK YOU!
I have combination to oily skin, with some dehydrated patches every now and then. I would say the Clarins Ever Matte foundation is my most favorite one (formulation-wise)! The intent behind my base preference would be to keep the natural sheen of my face down, but without looking so matte and made up--while still getting coverage (especially for the general redness in my face). I am not saying the coverage is full, but more like a solid medium. There is SPF 15 in it too, which is great to supplement your sun protection needs. This product ticks all the boxes for me! It's also amazing too the fact that it gives off a real matte finish, but it diminishes and smooths down the flakiness I may have. It sounds contradictory, but it performed more in that aspect than the dewier types of foundations I tried before. In terms of photography, it is not what I reach for because sometimes, it can flashback. Nevertheless, it looks good in person and up close--it blurs texture too. CONS: Its shade range is not the best, I got the second to the darkest one. I could have gone darker, but that has a pinker undertone than what I actually purchased (which is more neutral). I could have preferred something warmer and more olive, and even the other shades don't seem to cater to that kind of skin undertone at all. Their available shades will only seem to work for people on the medium to light medium spectrum. It can work for my color in the deep of the winter when I am at my palest. Otherwise, I have to mix it with something else for a bit of color. I would also add that I believe they have already discontinued it. The local drugstore where I bought my old one from does not carry it now anymore--it's not even online for purchase as well. If any Clarin's personnel can see this, I really wish you bring this formula back with a more comprehensive shade range, since this should be the direction cosmetic companies should trail forward to.
The struggle is real with olive skin tones. I find it especially hopeless because I'm light skinned with an olive undertone. Any recommendations anyone?
you could try MUFE 117, Revlon Colourstay in Buff or NARS Gobi! You could also try an olive foundation with a white mixer! NYX has a fairly cheap white mixer (9$ USD).
I’d recommend getting your hands on the MUFE Chromatix mixers in yellow and blue. They’re game-changers! Just add a little blue to warmer yellow foundations and they’re now olive, or a little yellow and blue to neutral and maybe a little orange foundations and they’re olive! I use Them all the time but I don’t Think I’ll ever run out 😄
I was guessing Along the way. Maestro glow, luminous silk and the vanish foundation stick... My favourite foundation is from a finnish brand Lumene, Invisible instant glow beauty serum! It offers a tinted moisturizer like effect, but lasts well even on my extremely oily skin! I loooove your videos btw! You’re one of my favourite beauty youtubers❤️
I'm super oily, but wear Born This Way in the shade Almond because I'm also a fair olive. It's the only shade that I can wear without being self conscious about my face looking ashy or orange. The Peter Thomas Roth Skin to Die For primer mattifies my face enough for the formula to work. Another good shade match is Fenty in 130 and it's great for oily skin!
The L'oreal cushion foundation was my all-time holy grail. It was the first foundation I'd ever found which was both pale enough and pink enough for my skin tone and which also sat well on my very dry skin. I nearly cried in Boots when the shop assistant told me that it had been discontinued. I will have to give the YSL cushion a whirl instead, fingers crossed they do a very pale, pink shade!
Hi Karima, my favourite is definitely the MakeUpForever Ultra HD. I’m also dry and also olive so I love love love these kind of videos! Greetings from Cyprus :) xx
Such a thoughtful and sincere video. Love it! I see from the comments I am not the only one who relies on you for light-skinned olive foundation choices! Also love your makeup here! The soft blush 😍 Have you filmed this look? Must see!!
As a fellow dry skinned, olive girl, THIS IS MY DREAM VIDEO.
Woohoo! 🙌🏻
Yay! I’m super neutral so that works for me. I’ve been thinking about getting it for a little while but in the u.s. you can only get it online
Yep agree that the colour isn't the same. Shame as I liked the old 51.
Yes! I recall the new Bourjois looking very beige, I think that's why I didn't purchase the new formula (boo). Thank you for your kind words! ❤️ I really appreciate it 😘
Karima McKimmie i fart
Can't afford 99% of the products you recommend, but can appreciate how thorough your videos are! would love to see more affordable products in the future!
It's sadly always been my experience that drugstore foundations for dry skin suck. I spent hundreds of dollars trying to find one, but couldn't. Now I spend less on my eyeshadows, mascara, etc., so that I can afford a higher end foundation that actually works for my skin-type.
I second this! Same issue
Thanks for watching! 😘
Best video, best description box, best UA-camr. Thank you for all your hard work bringing us these amazing videos!
I'm so pleased you enjoyed the video! ❤️
Hello friends normal to dry skin here.My Top 5 foundations
1. Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder
2.Bourjois Helthy mix
3. Smashbox STUDIO SKIN 15 HOUR WEAR HYDRATING FOUNDATION
4. L'oreal Accord Parfait Fluide
5. Burberry Cashmere Foundation
Armani Luminous silk is good but for me and my skin type is a average foundation. I don't use much
Kiss from Paris
Which ones are sheer and medium coverage?
Best olive tone foundations video, please! Lots of love from Mexico!
Whoooaa, gurl! I was looking for a natural, radiant, sheer foundation. You read my mind! 😱
P.S. I received the goodies last week. I'm not sure if you received my email but THANK YOU. I love it so very much. You are some kind of wonderful, Karima. 😘💕
Hey girl! Yes I got your email and yayyyyy! 🤗 It is my pleasure, thank YOU for all your love! ❤️ xx
Karima McKimmie 😘💕❤💖
You are absolutely amazing! Keep up the good work!!👍 Greetings from Greece💗😘
You are my favorite from the 20+ beauty youtuber I watch!! I NEED to meet you!! so thorough, elegant, concise, and unique. I watch even though I have one of the most extreme oily skin type.
❤️😘
samee! im oily as heck but im still gonna watch every video
You are absolutely amazing! Keep up the good work!👍 Greetings from Greece💋💗
This is so scary.. I’m running out of my foundation and karima knew
B D SAME
This vid is like my Holy Grail of foundation vids, I have an olive skin tone (like you) and the struggle is soooooooo real when trying to find my perfect shade so thank you thank you thank you for doing this vid.
Finally someone who doesn't stick to phrases like "i'm obsessed' and "you need this" and explains why they like their products!
So pleased you're finding the content to be helpful, Patricia! x
Please do a video on this eye look, it's so stunning 💕 I love all of your videos, you're so informative and a pleasure to listen to, so respect for that. Big fan here from Ireland 😊 xx
Your opinion is one I always trust - i started using Luminous Silk after your consistent praise. Keep it up karima xx
This was the most helpful youtube makeup video I've ever watched. No long intro with cringey poses, to the point...just when I thought all hope was lost and all beauty influencers were the same!
laura mercier silk creme photo edition is quite beautiful. saw patrick ta use it on a model, highly recommend.
Wendy P which has more coverage armani luminous silk or it cosmetics cc cream ❤️
I don't even wear foundation but I will watch anything you post, Karima! ANYTHING lol. If I were to start wearing foundation, I'd know exactly where to go for excellent, trusted recommendations. Your effort, organization and quality of your videos does not go unnoticed. Thank you!
😘❤️
I came back to this video 3 times since you put it up. Went to Sephora and picked out some great foundations that I loveeeeee for my dry skin. I must say, the cushion foundations are the most "skin like" that I've tried, and will forever stick to. Your the bestest.😘
I’ve tried so much product and your reviews are always aligned with my personal experience. Thank you for staying honest and reliable!
My favorite two foundations are the Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation and the Hourglass Vanish foundation. And both purchases were inspired by you, Karima! You have never steered me wrong! ❤❤❤
Literally I can watch video like this for days🎈. Karima you did a wonderful job. As a person who has desert dry skin this is so useful.
Woohoo! Thanks for watching Francesca! ❤️
You are literally the expert here on UA-cam! I'm always so excited for your videos.
Yaaaas girl teach me!
Mariam Ebrahim cheese mate..
Please do a part 2 of this! It would be so awesome to see just the foundation on your face so we can see what it actually looks like. Love your videos! Thanks for all your knowledge!
I've linked videos in the description box to see the various foundations in action. x
The Armani cushion is my absolute go to! I have quite oily skin so it's an actual dream come true for a beautiful, natural makeup day! Can get a little oily after a good couple hours but it wears really well for me. I also think the puff is genius, wish all cushion foundations made them that shape!
This is really good! And only can be done by someone so thorough like you. Can you make this into a series so you can cover other makeup as well?
Karima I love how much work you put into these videos. They're so informative and I love them!
Yep, it's being discontinued 😭
You're always my top reviewer.
love how informative your videos are but still straight to the point. kind of over all these gimmicky makeup videos
Pausing at 1:30 bc I can’t concentrate until I know what’s in the center of your lower lash line. Hypnotic!
For my neutral fair combo-oily acne prone skin, I’ve not found a single foundation that I like better than Fenty. The shade match is impeccable, it’s long wearing, and the coverage is amazing. 💗💗💗
Oh and I mix in a little moisturizer when I want to ramp down the coverage a bit.
Loved this video so much! I only wish you would have done some swatches of shades to compare them all!
I love that L’Oreal matte foundation - with the matching primer it is really lovely on my combination/oily skin. Also Estée Lauder Double Wear Light. Both just look flawless for the WHOLE day. 🙌🏻
Your lip, eye, and bun combo is stunning
I read a comment once where a woman said she mixed a tiny bit of a blue liquid lipstick into her foundation to take it from yellowish to olive. In the mood for some makeup science?
Sarah Cormiea It’s a super popular method talked about a lot on reddit. You can actually buy blue mixers :)
it can be super difficult to find blue mixers though ;-;
I purchased this set of pigments: camerareadycosmetics.com/products/temptu-sb-8-pc-hi-def-color-starter-kit-1-4-oz
They're silicone based and mix well with most of my foundations. I mostly use the green shade but depending on how peachy a foundation leans, blue is useful too 😊 xx
You just changed my life.
omggg karima! could you do a video about ittt? much curious!
Brilliant video :)
Could you possibly do a video on the best foundations you've found specifically for really pale olive skin?
Also, it would be wonderful if you created your own line of foundations for olive skin-tones (including really pale olive - basically impossible to find)!
Just stopped by your vlog. I’m starting to love. Glad I found her guys. Such a good review and very transparent.
So if Armani Luminous Silk is the most photogenic foundation, what would you say is the most photogenic concealer?
Probably Tarte Shape Tape tbh! x
Thanks for the reply. Thinking of getting this combo for events and special occasions x
Wow such a good video !! Wouldn’t trust any other beauty guru as much as yourself. Girl you know your stuff 🙌🏻
I'm dry to normal skin & I loooove UD all nighter and Marc jacobs remarkable! My absolute favourites
I have combo-oily skin and these are my favourites :
Sheer : NARS Radiant Tinted Moisturiser.
In terms of slip, the (old) Bourjois Healthy Mix and Armani Luminous Silk are similar. Both silicone heavy but not ridiculously slippy 😊 x
Right? So pretty ❤️
Best video ever 🙌🏻🙌🏻 i absolutely love your product reviews, because they are so informative and foundation is my favorite part of makeup
Great video Karima! My skin type is oily to combination and my favourite foundation that I am really injoy wearing is the Estee Lauder Double Wear!
Love your videos. They’re all professional and fun.❤️💄👌
😘
THANK YOU!
YES!!! My favorite videos to watch!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Normal to dry! Loving these foundations! Few I might try! YSL, I’m coming for you!
I use Them all the time but I don’t Think I’ll ever run out 😄
*they’re liquid pigments
Koh Gen Do - Aqua Foundation (213) :)
Me too! I’m fair olive and I only have a few that come close to matching me 😭
Hopped straight to this video after seeing it on your insta stories, don’t know why I didn’t get a notification!😃💕
I have watched this video over and over, and love it every single time. I’d love an update video on this if anything has changed!
Hi Karima, my favourite is definitely the MakeUpForever Ultra HD. I’m also dry and also olive so I love love love these kind of videos! Greetings from Cyprus :) xx
I always look forward to your reviews because I have dry skin too!
Your lowerline in this video is giving me life! You look amazing! also, love all your videos
Such a thoughtful and sincere video. Love it! I see from the comments I am not the only one who relies on you for light-skinned olive foundation choices! Also love your makeup here! The soft blush 😍 Have you filmed this look? Must see!!
