You can replace the bulbs with LED ones, but because of the way reflectors are designed, the longer LED bulbs do not sit at the proper focal length for the bowls, so the LEDs typically don't look quite right. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
Hey did you have any issues installing your bulbs? When I tried to install one of them, it would turn and snap into place like it was just so hard to turn for me compared to the other bulb I received. Maybe I have a defect? Thanks!
Nope, not a defect, just *horrible* design. There is no way to grip them to be turned. Lasfit needs to include something that slots in the fan grille to let is turn it. Mine are sitting on a shelf, unusable without removing the whole headlight assy to install them.
I just purchased these bulbs but I am curious as in the longevity of the bulb. Do you think I should get a big dust cap cover for the fans? How have yours held up?
I ran my set with the factory dust covers installed. Definitely do not run without as your headlights will fill up with dirt, dust, water, etc. That said, my first pair crapped out after a year, but LASFIT has been good to me as far as replacing goes. Thanks for watching!
It would be best to ask the manufacturer of these lamps - if your headlights are HID or LED units right now, then these won't fit. Thanks for watching!
In your opinion, is it worth it to consider these over the higher lumen rated bulbs for cheaper that don't have cooling built in, or just stick with these?
Can you share a link with the alternative you're considering? I'm unaware of any other VW-specific bulbs made at this time, so I'd love to hear of additional options. I will say, these are fantastic bulbs. Thanks for watching!

I tried installing these and it was a direct plug and play on the passenger side. On the drivers side there is a wire and socket that the halogen bulbs connect to which the passenger side did not have. I cant fit the lasfit bulb in the drivers side as the wires are in the way and I think the retaining clip is different i’m not sure. Did you also have the wired connector on only one side?
Are you sure you're not looking at the high beam bulb on the other side? Take a look from the front and make sure the bulb you're taking out is indeed the correct one...I made the same mistake the first time I swapped out bulbs on my B7 but figured it out from there. Thanks for watching!
I just ordered those for my 2016 Passat and they don't fit. How strange is that? I don't understand. I'm in Canada and we have the same Passat as the US, where it is built actually. Any thoughts?
Does your car have factory HID headlights? These are only designed for vehicles using H7 halogen bulbs with VW's proprietary adapter - if you fall within that category, they should work, and if they don't I'd contact the manufacturer to determine what the issue is. Thanks for watching!
I don't believe they fit the Jetta - I helped a friend change the bulbs on theirs in the past (not sure if it was an AFS car), and they had a different adapter. That said, take a look at the bulb adapter in your car and compare to the one in LASFIT's Amazon listing to see if they happen to match up for AFS cars. Thanks for watching!
There are aftermarket clones of the factory LEDs that will fit, but I believe the wiring and/or coding is different. I'd definitely do some research. Thanks for watching!

Nope, they were working perfectly when I pulled them to test some prototype lamps from LASFIT again. Definitely an equivalent item at the very least. Thanks for watching!
They do sell drop-in DRL bulbs, but I've not found a good solution for those yet - all LED options I've tried flicker and/or cause a bulb out error. Hopefully somebody develops something for these at some point, as it would be nice to convert to all LED. Thanks for watching!
Not at all from my personal experience - adding holes will simply allow dust to enter the headlight housing, clouding up the lens and buckets on the inside. Thanks for watching!
Hello Sir, i have a couple of questions. Doesn’t puting back the rubber boot affects the function of the fan in the bulb? I did istall it back and would like to know if i should. The other question is if it has given you any warning code? Mines like after a month gave a code to check front right low beam and wasn’t turning on. I had to erase the code and reset it so it would work again. After 2 days the bulb is down again :/ just wondering if it happened to you . I will really appreciate you comment :)
They have not affected the function of mine - there are fan vents not only directly on the back side of the bulb, but also around the edge, so air can still circulate through without issue. I've had my bulbs in since the video was done (somewhere around a year I believe) and they've been flawless. Mine has never had a bulb out error, but if yours is giving you the error and the bulb is actually going out, then you may have an issue with the bulb. To diagnose, I would the driver and passenger side lamps around, and see if the error moves to the other side. If so, you have a bad bulb which should be covered under warranty. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
Do these new LED light have high beam incorporated in the same light as well, not that its probably not needed just curious, you did not illustrate on your video
Just low beam - not sure on fitment on an 08 Passat since that's from the B6 generation, best to contact Lasfit and ask them for confirmation. Thanks for watching!
Isn't it not advisable to put hid lights in reflector housings?? Or is this an old thing and now there is newer tech out there? I heard it would actually REDUCE light output.
It won't reduce light output except in extreme cases, but because of the dimensions of typical HID bulbs the reflector's output will be out of focus, and as such will not cut off cleanly and will blind oncoming drivers. This particular model Passat is set up such that HIDs cannot be installed anyway. The LED headlights like these that are designed properly retain the same focal length as a halogen bulb (distance from LED to base same as distance from filament to base on a halogen) - these work properly and have proper output. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
@@redonKiLaus thank you for your reply. I'm going to buy the LED lights primarily for the luxurious look. Do you think these look better than Halogens in terms of styling?
Anybody try the high beam version of Lasfit LED bulbs for 2016-2019 Volkswagen Passat? I'm curious if theirs fits or not as the plug in the picture looks different form the stock high beams.
Not any H7 bulb will fit - only the "G2" style, which equates to a standard H7 bulb in VW's proprietary retainer. These are what I'm running now that the LASFIT lamps failed: www.aliexpress.com/item/2x-G1-G2-7200Lm-Car-LED-Canbus-Headlight-Driving-Lamp-Light-Bulb-Kit-72W-DC9-36V/32833481976.html Same item, just over 1/10th the price. Thanks for watching!
They're easy to install yourself, that's the normal method. Otherwise you can look for an auto repair shop and they may do it for you. Thanks for watching!
Totally normal, the halogen bulbs do it too, but you don't notice it since the filament doesn't have time to heat up and start producing bright light. Thanks for watching!
@@mronemanband1 I can assure you that none of that is an issue with these. Not once has this car been flashed because the headlights are aimed properly and the SMDs are mounted at the proper focal length for the halogen reflector (not true of many/most LED drop-ins) so the light does not scatter. I run the caps on the back of the headlights, and have had no issue with heat damage or overheating of the lights, even driving for multi-hour straight stints through the Arizona desert. You definitely do not want to run without the caps, however.
They are white with a *slight* blue tint. I prefer 4300k (factory HID color temperature), and these are a bit more blue than that - about the same color as factory LED headlights that come on cars these days. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
No warning lights at all. They are as easy as this video described. Plug and play! 6000k color! The guy is right about the light bean being a tad bit high. But, I have not had anyone hit their high beams at me. Awesome lights!

That's not something I've investigated, as I personally have no need for LED or HID high beams. If a bulb retainer is used for the high beam like VW likes to do, it will take a custom solution like it did for the low beam. Thanks for watching!
redonKiLaus would u happen to also know the color for the ground and turn signal wire on the front of this model? In trying to install resistors for led upgrade an I’m trying to tap in to the headlight wire harness.

Good idea, *horrivle* design. There is no way to grip the bulb in the cramped access area. They shouldve included a plastic cap that would slot in the rear fan grill so they can be turned into position This isnthe *only* complaint, other than dead on arrival, i have seen about them.
It's definitely not optimal, but I haven't had any issues just turning into place while wearing latex or nitrile gloves like I generally do when I work on cars anyway. I agree, though, it's an oversight on their part. Thanks for watching!

its impossible to tighten the new bulb into place. it is a circular casing versus a line where you have enough leverage to snap it into place. Couldn't get it to snap

Anybody try the high beam version of Lasfit LED bulbs for 2016-2019 Volkswagen Passat? I'm curious if theirs fits or not as the plug in the picture looks different form the stock high beams.
I have not yet but I may in the future, so look for a video on those at some point. Thanks for watching!
Will any H7 bulb fit a 2013 passat TDI SEL Premium mines came with Halogen bulbs.
I have a few sets of LEDs that will fit. Same ones pictured 85.00
Not any H7 bulb will fit - only the "G2" style, which equates to a standard H7 bulb in VW's proprietary retainer. These are what I'm running now that the LASFIT lamps failed: www.aliexpress.com/item/2x-G1-G2-7200Lm-Car-LED-Canbus-Headlight-Driving-Lamp-Light-Bulb-Kit-72W-DC9-36V/32833481976.html
Same item, just over 1/10th the price. Thanks for watching!
Where can i get these installed after purchasing?
They're easy to install yourself, that's the normal method. Otherwise you can look for an auto repair shop and they may do it for you. Thanks for watching!
It flickers on startup a bit and then normal. Also if switch is off, still it flickers a bit while turning on the engine. Is it normal?
What are these, 6000k blue or white or soft white? Did it cause the warning bulb error to go off in dashboard?
They are white with a *slight* blue tint. I prefer 4300k (factory HID color temperature), and these are a bit more blue than that - about the same color as factory LED headlights that come on cars these days. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
No warning lights at all. They are as easy as this video described. Plug and play! 6000k color! The guy is right about the light bean being a tad bit high. But, I have not had anyone hit their high beams at me. Awesome lights!
how about high beam led bulbs? i can't find any information or videos on it.
I've not tested any high beams for this vehicle yet, but may in the future. Thanks for watching!
Will it.work on 2017 passat
I would ask LASFIT that question, definitely one for them to answer as I am not familiar with the 16 and later cars. Thanks for watching!
What about fuel filter replacement? Is it easy?
Haven't done it on this car, so I honestly can't say. Thanks for watching!
Installed these and they flicker when my car's engine is on.
Interesting, I'd reach out to LASFIT to see what they advise, that's not normal. Thanks for watching!
Hello, I own a B6, 2010 SW, would these fit my car?
I'm not sure, I've not worked on many B6 Passats. If they use H7 bulbs in the proprietary VW retainers, then it is probably correct. Thanks for watching!
Did you ever find out?
Can you supply another link to the product? Not Sure if it’s me or the link is broken.
This is them on the manufacturer's site: www.lasfit.com/collections/led-headlight-kits/products/lasfit-h7-led-headlight-bulbs-for-volkswagen-vw-golf-gti-passat-holder-adapters
Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
@@redonKiLaus Thank you, glad to see you like our custom designed LED headlights kits, and help lots of Passat owner. Here is the link:

Do they show the error for headlight in dashboard ?
Nope, no errors or other issues. Thanks for watching!
What about dust covers?
I have these installed with the factory dust covers, with absolutely no issue. If I remember correctly, I've had these installed for about 8 months and have had no issues. Hope that helps answer your question, and thanks for watching!
Do these bulbs blind the other drivers? I would hate to be that guy.
They haven't for me, though I did make sure to adjust the headlight aim to exactly match OEM spec. Thanks for watching!
Is there any solution to have led or hid high beam lights for this model
That's not something I've investigated, as I personally have no need for LED or HID high beams. If a bulb retainer is used for the high beam like VW likes to do, it will take a custom solution like it did for the low beam. Thanks for watching!
redonKiLaus would u happen to also know the color for the ground and turn signal wire on the front of this model? In trying to install resistors for led upgrade an I’m trying to tap in to the headlight wire harness.
I don't, I've not messed with any wiring on the NMS.
redonKiLaus well thanks for your help I have purchased this kit and can say they are amazing
Great to hear, glad they're working out for you!
Is it error free bulbs?
These ones are indeed. Thanks for watching!
What about brights?
They are working on a retrofit for those as well - still in testing from what I'm told. They will be featured on the channel as soon as they're available!
It’s just plug and play?
Indeed, easy peasy. Thanks for watching!
will this fit in my VW cc?
It may, I'd recommend asking the manufacturer for info on that. Thanks for watching!
would this fit in a 2013 Passat tdi
It should. Thanks for watching!
@@redonKiLaus i had already bought 3 different sets of led's and they all said they should fit. not one works. I'm just trying to stop wasting money and trying to get to the bottom of this lol
Where can I order it ? 😯
I have links in the comments section I've posted to Aliexpress/Alibaba listings. Thanks for watching!
Just went to amazon and they are unavailable :(
Get them on Ebay, there are a few authorized retailers
They come and go in/out of stock...they seem to be quite popular. If you keep your eyes peeled, they should come back, or you can, I believe, purchase from LASFIT directly. Thanks for watching!
Good idea, *horrivle* design. There is no way to grip the bulb in the cramped access area. They shouldve included a plastic cap that would slot in the rear fan grill so they can be turned into position
This isnthe *only* complaint, other than dead on arrival, i have seen about them.
It's definitely not optimal, but I haven't had any issues just turning into place while wearing latex or nitrile gloves like I generally do when I work on cars anyway. I agree, though, it's an oversight on their part.
Thanks for watching!
Followed your link in your description, Amazon says these headlamps won't fit my 2013 Passat TDI? Can you confirm this?
It looks like they changed their listing while retaining the same ASIN - interesting. The ones linked will not fit, and I just removed the link. Thank you for the heads up, I definitely don't want to mislead people!
@@redonKiLausVery odd. Seems like some of those who commented only 6 months ago had ordered them for the same B7 style Passat like we have. Must have JUST changed their amazon listing recently. I will try going through them directly. Do you happen to have the exact part number for the H7 bulbs you purchased?
I just picked up a set of bulbs directly from the OEM who makes these for LASFIT. They come from China, but they're exactly the same item without the branding for a bit more than 10% of the cost. Here's the link to them (if you have halogen bulbs in your Passat which you should being a 2013 model, pick the G2 style): www.aliexpress.com/item/2x-G1-G2-7200Lm-Car-LED-Canbus-Headlight-Driving-Lamp-Light-Bulb-Kit-72W-DC9-36V/32833481976.html
Hope that helps!
redonKiLaus that’s crazy how they charge over $100 for bulbs worth $30. Thanks for this find.
@@Grizoft Glad I could help - it's definitely a healthy profit!
S320 Taillight replacement?
I haven't had a need to swap the lights out on my W140, but if I ever need to a video will definitely be filmed. Thanks for watching!
its impossible to tighten the new bulb into place. it is a circular casing versus a line where you have enough leverage to snap it into place. Couldn't get it to snap
You can use a rubber glove to get a better grip on the bulb - it's a bit more difficult that the stock item, but not terrible and definitely worth the small hassle. Thanks for watching!
Tried with rubberized grip gloves, did not work due to cramped location.
Horrible design not to include something to turn the stupid bulb. Shelved them as a waste.
I PUT IN 2009 HEADLAMP REPLACEMENT AND THIS SHOWS UP, NOT ONLY ITS WRONG YEARS AND HUGE DIFFERENCE, IT POINTS TO THE HEADLAMP LOOKING TO BE HALF OUT SO I OPENED ONLY TO WASTE MY TIME, FACTORY LIGHTS LOOKS BETTER ON THIS SETUP. NOT GOOD AT ALL. FIXED MANY VEHICLES AND JUST NOT THAT GREAT PERIOD.
worse video ever, you put that flashlight covering everything...
I have a 2018 passat r line just wondering mine seem to high is there a aim screw? On the headlights??
There is on the 2012-2015 models, with the 2016+ facelift version I am sure there is one but I have not worked on one so can't speak to where it may be. Thanks for watching!
@@redonKiLaus where is it on the 16 maybe its near where that one is at
Not sure, the latest Passat I've worked on is the 2015.
@@redonKiLaus you should make a video on where the screw is at
It should be in your owner's manual for your specific car as well - IIRC, that's where I found the info for mine.
