This, my friends, was THE PURE AWESOME. Nice to see you again, James. Thanks a lot for the video. And the next patient must be one Alex Shepard, who has daddy and brother issues.
This is one of my favorite UFO endings. I always like the drawn ones over anything else. Silent Hill 3, Origins, and this. Those three are my favorites, now.
Hehehe Mary's boss form is snuck in there as a sihlouette, how clever. Well, I'm an enormous fan of SH, been playing since the very first one, and I absolutely fell in love with this game.
lol at all the references at 2:16. There's the faint outline of Mary's cage in the top left corner, the more obvious Flauros, the flashlight and a healthdrink and probably a few others.
Because most people (including myself) have never even heard of re-imagining (or if something like that is possible) until now with Shattered Memories. We've only heard of re-MAKE.
I would really love to see a game of silent hill 2 like this, i can imagine right now playing as james running through the *blank* area trying to get away from pyramid head
This game just left some of us fans confused. One of the main confusions was when this Cybil said that Harry 'died' 18 years ago going into deep hiding from the cults and the rebirth of Cheryl. We believed that during those years he fell on some bad times with the drinking and sex which killed the relationship with 'the mother' being Cybil in this time line (maybe). Now that the cults were gone (for now) she could use her true name and talk about her life after SH3. That was my theory anyways...
Actually, I was going for both "Sleaze & Sirens" and the UFO ending at the same time; I saved before I took a pic of the last UFO, so I can load the game up, instead of going through the whole game to get both endings. Love Lost was the ending I got the 1st time through.
@ChanTheN00b Yeah lol. The final screen is full of references to other Silent Hill games like Mira (the dog), James behind the aliens chair, Mary/Marias Boss form on the top left, the Flauros on the book case, Cheryls "DOG HOUSE, LEVIN STREET" notes on the table and the Silent Hill 1 Flashlight, Radio and Health drink on the shelf xD
This seems to be 7 years after SH3, with Cheryl recovering from the trauma of her dad dying. Though, it seems her dad died in another way. Hell, here's what I think. Everything was in Cheryl's head, and her dad wasn't murdered, he did die in the crash, and now after 7 years of therapy, she finally begins to make progress.
@ HyperSonicSquall It's NOT supposed to be the first game. When they say it's a "reimagining" of the first game, it means it's not a remake, nor a "replacement" for the first game. It's a completely separate entity. I love SH1 (as well as SH2 and SH3), and I also like SH:SM a lot, because I didn't expect that it would be like SH1 at all, neither in story nor in gameplay. It's happening in a completely separate universe, so nothing is the same, other than names and other basic things.
@ HyperSonicSquall (continued from last reply) Also, if you truly don't like this version, then take comfort in the fact it doesn't affect the old games at all, seeing as it does not even occur in the same reality. If anything, a sequel or remake (in the same reality) would DIRECTLY impact the old games. You basically have the luxury of ignoring it. (something you can't do for sequels/remakes)
Love lost is the only ending that you could get on the 1st round, plus u get that damn weapon; then you can get the other 2 endings after you play through it again.
The Best UFO ending, (or ending) ever. Even if they don't make another sequel, this sums up everything. The real plot of Silent Hill 1 and 3, (cults and demons) the culmination of all the ufo/weird endings, and of course, James shows up again. This also puts the Dog ending in perspective:Cheryl's the dog who screwed with James. "My mother was a bitch!"
Hey guys I recently discovered a web comic which is basically a continuation of silent hill 2 where the niece of James goes to silent hill to try and find him after he disappears and it is awesome! I think it is called Silent Hill Promise and can be found on the deviant art website. Enjoy!
You can try and say it's not the same game all you want, but it is. I wouldn't be engaging in this argument if all promotional material, all press release, and even the back of the box didn't say "re-imagining of the first game". It's that fact that drives me from cutting this game a break, and judging it by it's own merits. If they didn't go and say "this is the first game, but done differently," I wouldn't be judging the two side-by-side
No, the ending is chosen after you complete the high school schedule test. The game is based on whether you look at beer, or women with the zoom button, whether you answer certain questions in certain ways, and if you're playing the game a second time. The wheelchair part just helps you know what ending you're going to have.
did anyone else immediately think that James was the conspiracy nut that you were taking the pictures for when the therapist said that he hadn't seen his wife in a while
@mdk124 You probably had the wrong ending. This is the UFO ending, which is only available I think the second time you play it. On the Drunk Dad ending, she has glasses and her hair is in a ponytail.
@ ChristopherEllington This occurs in a completely different universe. Essentially, it's a completely different Silent Hill, a completely different Harry Mason, etc. Only the basic premise is the same, i.e., Cheryl's missing after a car crash.
Be that as it may, we're expected to believe that this is the first game, regardless of alternate reality or inclusion in the continuity. It just doesn't make any sense that they would change so many fundamental aspects about the original game, and take out/redo almost everything that made it memorable, and to be honest; actually frightening. Once again, if I wasn't inclined by outside sources to believe this has a connection with the original, then I wouldn't be so harsh on it.
This is a re-imagining of the very first game. So your thought is completely unjustified. If it was a canon continuation, then you would be right in your thought.
Friend of mine had finished this game in two days and I saw her ending; it was the one where Cheryl (sp?) accepts Harry's death. Had heard of the UFO ending though and thought I may as well check it out. ...nothing like how I excepted it.
Correction: That's not the triforce. It's the Flauros. ALSO, In the upper left hand corner of the last frame, the one with the Flauros in it, Mary's Boss Form from Silent Hill 2 can vaguely be seen hanging from the ceiling. Makes sense since Dr. K "hasn't seen James's wife lately" ;D
Not a Triforce - It's a Flauros; from Silent Hill and Silent Hill: Origins. And it's anime style is a reference to other Extra Endings, like the Silent Hill 3 UFO ending
Reimagining = different in most ways, similar in others. ReMAKE = same in as many respects possible. And it all depends on tastes as to whether it's boring. I enjoyed it all 4 times I've played it.
The 5th ending is a pain in the ass to get, I've tried 4 to 5 times to get it. I either get Love Lost or Sleaze and Sirens. It has a vague requirement, here's what it says in the strategy guide: "Wicked and Weak" To achieve this ending you must be a bit of a snob. Let your therapist know that you've got better things to do than make friends. I will eventually post it when someone on gamefaq gives a clear answer on how to get it.
"This whole town... it's really a giant spaceship!"
LOOOOL genius!
5:57 - 6:13
Awesome for him to put some of the original Silent Hill theme in there. Akira really knows how to make awesome music.
This, my friends, was THE PURE AWESOME. Nice to see you again, James. Thanks a lot for the video.
And the next patient must be one Alex Shepard, who has daddy and brother issues.
...James....go home
This is one of my favorite UFO endings. I always like the drawn ones over anything else. Silent Hill 3, Origins, and this. Those three are my favorites, now.
I love the drawing style.
James looks awesome.
2:10 James had missed his chance to get another a dog ending, or rather he came too early.
I nearly choked when I saw James and heard Kaufmann's comment on him.
I hope they do SH2 next.
Holy hell the James cameo was so awesome.
Thank you for the clarification my friend.
the bit with james sunderland is the greatest thing in the history of ever.
The beginning of this video, I heard the sirens...Is it really that time again, Freeman?
Liam could have gotten this if he hadn't been busy jumping all those guns.
TheShieldsMD Ahh so I'm not the only one...
my mother was a bitch......took me a while, about a month,i had to come back to this vid to tell you guys
The James bit was the greatest moment in Silent Hill history.
Hehehe Mary's boss form is snuck in there as a sihlouette, how clever.
Well, I'm an enormous fan of SH, been playing since the very first one, and I absolutely fell in love with this game.
Favorite ending ever! If you ask me this one makes the most sense.
Wow! James suprised me! But that was really funny. "Wrong day again?"
Silent Hill games have had UFO endings as unlockables for the second playthrough for most of the series. All, except 4.
The most awesome thing about the endings is the voice of Heather Morris, the same voice actress from SH3... I love her... n_n
lol at all the references at 2:16. There's the faint outline of Mary's cage in the top left corner, the more obvious Flauros, the flashlight and a healthdrink and probably a few others.
OMG, the James part made me laugh so hard.
"Hadn't seen his wife in a while..."
Fantastic.
James is awsome! XD
1:52 Is that Heather?! 8D
This is one of my favourite UFO endings
I like the mock of the original's story. "Cults and demons!" xD
Oh, shit! The UFO gameplay makes Cybil resemble Scully!
Yes, this is a joke ending.
Because most people (including myself) have never even heard of re-imagining (or if something like that is possible) until now with Shattered Memories. We've only heard of re-MAKE.
See, if it wasn't so hard to unlock, someone would get this ending by accident and have absolutely no idea what happened.
I would really love to see a game of silent hill 2 like this, i can imagine right now playing as james running through the *blank* area trying to get away from pyramid head
More or less these UFO endings keep getting funnier and funnier with each game. Wonder what it'll be in the next one...
"haven't seen his wife in a while"
LOL
And the dog from the most funny ending of SH2 LOOOOL
That's going to be difficult, as all endings of these re-imagined Silent Hill have Cheryl realize that Harry's dead.
This is... this is fantastic. BEST UFO ENDING EVER. But the UFO endings are all the best ever, so...
Hell Frozen Rain, composed by Akira Yamaoka and sung by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.
This game just left some of us fans confused. One of the main confusions was when this Cybil said that Harry 'died' 18 years ago going into deep hiding from the cults and the rebirth of Cheryl. @Sonicalsignus
The credits song is "Hell Frozen Rain," composed by Akira Yamaoka, and sung by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn
"You beleive your father was abducted by ALIENS!?"
Shit I lol'd. And the dog. Omg nostalgia. Thank you Climax.
This is now officially my favorite UFO ending because James shows up. (And then hides from the Mary-monster)
If nobody answered this, it's Mariel Cartwright. She also did lead animation on Skullgirls.
YAY JAMES RETURNS! (He's my favourite character)
"It made more sense when you were talking about cults and demons!"
Anyone love the irony of how true that is?
Actually, I was going for both "Sleaze & Sirens" and the UFO ending at the same time; I saved before I took a pic of the last UFO, so I can load the game up, instead of going through the whole game to get both endings.
Love Lost was the ending I got the 1st time through.
I'm really digging this song. Funny ending!
Thanks for the video =)
Yes. To get it, you need to photograph 13 UFO sightings in the game.
I had a feeling about that; I just checked, it says it should be out in the UK around FEB.
I'm sorry, what?
@ChanTheN00b Yeah lol. The final screen is full of references to other Silent Hill games like Mira (the dog), James behind the aliens chair, Mary/Marias Boss form on the top left, the Flauros on the book case, Cheryls "DOG HOUSE, LEVIN STREET" notes on the table and the Silent Hill 1 Flashlight, Radio and Health drink on the shelf xD

James you're back from creeping behind Henry's wall : D
Silly hole-jumping dude : P
@NightCrimson actually this ending has been in the games since the very first silent hill so it is canon
@ HyperSonicSquall
It's NOT supposed to be the first game.

You basically have the luxury of ignoring it. (something you can't do for sequels/remakes)
James has been appearing a lot in recent silent hill games lately, they should put him as the star of a new silent hill game lol.
Love lost is the only ending that you could get on the 1st round, plus u get that damn weapon;
then you can get the other 2 endings after you play through it again.
probably because she's hanging out on his offices' ceiling (note mary's boss form on the upper left corner when Kaufmann is shown as an alien)
James sunderland, he's in almost every silent hill
Its a speed run, basically you run through the game and don't kill any monsters except for the bosses.
Everyone looks just adorable here.
Hey guys I recently discovered a web comic which is basically a continuation of silent hill 2 where the niece of James goes to silent hill to try and find him after he disappears and it is awesome! I think it is called Silent Hill Promise and can be found on the deviant art website. Enjoy!
"Haven't seen his wife in a while..."
I love James so much!
God I love the credits music....
James? Wrong day again?
everyday is the wrong day for James.
THAT MOST BE THE BEST UFO ENDING
2:16
I think this part is in Cheryl's head.
Wow! I'm so happy to see favorite psycho again! ^_^ I love James * ran out to buy SHSM *
I found some scans of it on the internet. But you can probably buy it at a game store; if not, buy it off ebay or amazon.
You can try and say it's not the same game all you want, but it is.
I wouldn't be engaging in this argument if all promotional material, all press release, and even the back of the box didn't say "re-imagining of the first game". It's that fact that drives me from cutting this game a break, and judging it by it's own merits.

Kind of interesting to me how it still plays Hell Frozen Rain in this ending instead of a joke song

I love this ending as much as the Dog Ending in SH 2 and the SH 3 UFO ending XD
did anyone else immediately think that James was the conspiracy nut that you were taking the pictures for when the therapist said that he hadn't seen his wife in a while
@mdk124 You probably had the wrong ending. This is the UFO ending, which is only available I think the second time you play it. On the Drunk Dad ending, she has glasses and her hair is in a ponytail.
wow, just realized...
this is a continuation from silent hill 2's ufo ending
@ ChristopherEllington
This occurs in a completely different universe. Essentially, it's a completely different Silent Hill, a completely different Harry Mason, etc.
Only the basic premise is the same, i.e., Cheryl's missing after a car crash.
@AxcelKaru I think it's in a more animated form to make it a bit more comical and non-canonical,as they always do in SH.
@NinjaPlushie its a referance to the dog ending from silent hill 2 where the dog was controlling the things that happend in the town
Be that as it may, we're expected to believe that this is the first game, regardless of alternate reality or inclusion in the continuity.
It just doesn't make any sense that they would change so many fundamental aspects about the original game, and take out/redo almost everything that made it memorable, and to be honest; actually frightening.

Wow, what a twist ending!
This is a re-imagining of the very first game.

Friend of mine had finished this game in two days and I saw her ending; it was the one where Cheryl (sp?) accepts Harry's death. Had heard of the UFO ending though and thought I may as well check it out.
...nothing like how I excepted it.
"James? Wrong day again?"
That IS Heather. She adopted the name Heather during the events of Silent Hill 3 because she was under a witness protection program of sorts.
You have to admit, Climax make awesome UFO endings
IT JAMES!!! I IMISSED U james!!!
JAMES...
lmfao
this ending is awesome.
1:57 LOL
- James?
- Wrong day again?
- See you tomorrow, James
XD
Random James is random.
"...haven't seen his wife in a while"
OH GOD LOL. Gotta love these UFO endings.
Correction: That's not the triforce. It's the Flauros.
ALSO,
In the upper left hand corner of the last frame, the one with the Flauros in it, Mary's Boss Form from Silent Hill 2 can vaguely be seen hanging from the ceiling. Makes sense since Dr. K "hasn't seen James's wife lately" ;D
@silverwings21 What are you talking about?! It is not a serious meant ending, just a running gag throughout the whole series...
Not a Triforce - It's a Flauros; from Silent Hill and Silent Hill: Origins. And it's anime style is a reference to other Extra Endings, like the Silent Hill 3 UFO ending
That's a pretty big spaceship.
@troy1002x it's actually reffering to you "the player" to play the game again so you can take different choices and get other endings
@ silverwings21: That's not the triforce, it's the Flauros from Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill Origins.
Reimagining = different in most ways, similar in others. ReMAKE = same in as many respects possible.
And it all depends on tastes as to whether it's boring. I enjoyed it all 4 times I've played it.
Hey, Cheryl IS the dog. Which makes sense of why it controlled the town in SH2.
The 5th ending is a pain in the ass to get, I've tried 4 to 5 times to get it. I either get Love Lost or Sleaze and Sirens. It has a vague requirement, here's what it says in the strategy guide:

I will eventually post it when someone on gamefaq gives a clear answer on how to get it.
Oh that's right. The Alien Blaster. I forgot all about that.
really exist this ending
LOL! 'Wrong day again?'
I love it.
