Imagine the restraint of a man buying a ninja trick house and not giving in to the temptation of LARPing at every opportunity. I would've been giddy like a 5 year old inside a toy store.
This has to be one of the trickiest and most fascinating places I have seen! Truly amazing! I hope my Japanese will be at a decent level by the time I'm able to visit! 😅 Thank you for showing this to us! 💖
*Meanwhile in night* Carefully sneaking inside a Shiro, as the intruder takes off his shoes and walks in through the doors.. When I was visiting Japan, we were also visiting an old merchant's mansion. It was a bit similar. I so loved the garden. This is also such a great building. Very fascinating.
Wow! What an absolute treat it is to see inside such a thoughtful and interesting building ! Thank You so much for the translation and the tour Shogo 🙏
I loved this, it strongly reminded me of Nijo Castle in Kyoto where it has the Nightingale Floor. I visited Nijo Castle on a very special trip to Japan with my daughter, as well as many other beautiful places in Tokyo, Kyoto and Nara. We talk about that visit with great enthusiasm and fondness. I will always be in debt to Minami san, Hiro and Mitsu who planned our trip of a lifetime. I love Japan so much and always feel at home there, having visited it for work about 30 times. I long to return
The muichiro figure used in the hidden storage is hilarous. I wouldn’t imagine using the actual stairs on norm when there is so many hidden spaces that can be used. I will only be using the regular stairs when there is guests around and disappear when playing any games
Definitely going to go there and take my children. There is a similar, but maybe not as a grande place in Koga, Shiga prefecture. It’s the Kogan ninja house.
Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald (and their remakes) show a place like this and same thing on Paper Mario: The Origami King but show a place with this inspiration in real life, I am impressed! x3
Shogo, would it be possible for you to do a video on house/meeting etiquette in the bygone eras? It's touched upon here, such as the room the guest and homeowner would meet in, but I'd love to know more.
You know it's gonna be a great hotel when there's a literal hidden room for prisoners in there
3/5 stars. It was really comfy, but had no place for me to store my prisoners.
Yeah i have like 10 people currently in the room
@@Shotoplays😂
It just cracks me up that this guy thought he was gonna be chased around his house so often that he built so many secret escapes.
He rly thought of the chase scenarios in his head💀
in fudal Japan this was essential. but also for a time when samuri were persecuted. We have something similar in the uk with preist holes
@@jaybuchan4893 "Priest holes" is also very comical.
it says alot about his life. the runaway men
This must have been fun to build, haha. "Wait, why are we building a door to a wall?" - "Don't ask questions."
Imagine the restraint of a man buying a ninja trick house and not giving in to the temptation of LARPing at every opportunity. I would've been giddy like a 5 year old inside a toy store.
I was just thinking what a great place that would be for a larp featuring samurai, shinobi and noh actors
Or a Shogo in a Tozando
You dont know what he does at the weekends
That or do independent movies XD But true, you can drive renters crazy as if you pretend there is a ghost in this house.
What an amazing setup! I hope the architect who designed this place and all its functions was paid handsomely for both their work and their silence!
This is incredible. So much culture and character ☺️
I see you everywhere 😭

This made me also think about getting back to my japanese language class 😊
The amount of Ingenuity and craftsmanship that has gone into this place is staggering.
The design ingenuity in this house is so cool and fascinating

Love ur channel! I rlly want to go to Japan. Any tips?
Thanks for the video!
I've heard that several Shiros also have creaking floorboards that'd act as an alarm system in case anyone was sneaking around at night.

I absolutely love this! Thank you for showing us, it's the kind of place I've dreamed about seeing since I was a little kid.
The Samurai mansion is truly like a ninja trick house that I have seen many times! Every ninja trick I see is really amazing!
So there really were places like this! Amazing.
It would certainly be nice to have your own Noh theater.
Shogo, You just made me wanting to move to Kyoto and live in such a House!
Wow, that was really cool! Thank you for this tour! Absolutely incredible and very clever hiding spots and traps!
Very cool to see the past, the hidden places, plus the fire safety, beautiful
It’s honestly amazing to see how much thought goes into the architecture of the building. Subtly secure!
So beautiful! Thank you Shogo :)
Idk why I love this channel I am just interested in Japan wow giving a reason after I said idk

I really like these videos. I'm looking forward to more Kyoto Hidden gems!
I would get sooooooo lost in that place! So many escape routes! However, this is a hide and go seek players' paradise!
It was mind blowing 🤯🤯🤯🙇🙇🙇
Absolutely fascinating. Thank you. Shogo, can you show us a castle and inside and out and explain what it consists off and it's purpose. Please.
The muichiro figure used in the hidden storage is hilarous. I wouldn’t imagine using the actual stairs on norm when there is so many hidden spaces that can be used. I will only be using the regular stairs when there is guests around and disappear when playing any games
This is sooo cool!
Utterly amazing tine buddy. Oh my GOD I wish I could go to places with you all! Great video!

Definitely going to go there and take my children. There is a similar, but maybe not as a grande place in Koga, Shiga prefecture. It’s the Kogan ninja house.
This is SO cool! 🤩
So beautiful.
Such a great house! I'd love to visit it, with a professional interpreter of course.
I like this
I wonder if the owners have responsible kids in their family, if they sometimes do hide and seek rallies? I loved it.
Someday I could visit that samurai hotel and Kyoto Japan too from Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Super clever designs!
The cautious hero would LOVE this house 😂
I love the Samurai Hotel! So traditional! Hopes I can go there!
Beautiful 😍😍
Early to see this great content!
Cool info - - THANKS :)
I started watching this channel because of my Japanese Carpentry studies. This was like candy.
More awesome content 👌👍
The house is like living in a time machine. Life of the past.. 😳 woah.
Pretty Neat 🥷
Awesome building. I can see how people could think it was a ninja house. 🥷
That's awesome I'd love to visit 😊🇯🇵
Love this!
Thank you for showing this! I would of been sad going and not knowing anything he says 😭
Thank you.
It's a mini Muichiro in the miniature model at 13:19
another benefit to having the low part before the hidden stairs is that if attackers don’t notice it they hit their head really hard on a low ceiling
Soooo cooooll✨✨✨😫😫😫😫 i wish i can go to japan someday 😩😩😩😩✌️
At 13:18 is that a little Muichiro figure? 😂
Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald (and their remakes) show a place like this and same thing on Paper Mario: The Origami King but show a place with this inspiration in real life, I am impressed! x3
I'm in love 😍
Hey!I am a new subscriber
Arigatò go sahimas te Shogo san.
If I met you. I will be surprised. My mind will think "HOW IS THIS SAMURAI TRAINEE IS BUILT LIKE A NINJA?!"
Ngl, I would love to have a place like this as like a seasonal getaway
The designer's dedication to paranoia is impressive.
Shogo, would it be possible for you to do a video on house/meeting etiquette in the bygone eras? It's touched upon here, such as the room the guest and homeowner would meet in, but I'd love to know more.
Too cool😎👍
😎👍❤🖖
