Odysseus Rex wasn’t even the jury’s fault in this case. The jury made the right call with the evidence given. The killer was who we thought. They just didn’t have any way to prove it was a hired killing and by the time they even had a clue it was a possibility the charges were dropped.

I really love the writing at the end of this one: the new evidence is enough to cast further doubt on the alleged innocence, yet still not enough to meet the burden of proof required of the state. I think most shows would have gone over the top there, bit L&O really did it right, just an absolute classic.

I'd never seen a show broken down like that; I grew up on Perry Mason reruns and Matlock, or cop shows. This was the first show I saw that did both, and did them both amazingly well! IN the British police series, the Sweeney (aka the Flying Squad), they hunt down two Australian armed robbers, only in the end to find out they had already left England. Very unusual ending. But it resolved itself in a later episode, when the two, to the astonishment of the police, reappeared in England. Again, they were hunted down, and this time they were caught. lol
