This is absolutely incredible! We have rich teachings like this in the Church and yet we are allowing the faithfuls to be deceived by false teachings. The Church now, more than ever, needs to start serious evangelization. God bless you Dr. Brant!

I agree, completely. I haven't even started RCIA yet so have been feasting on Pitre and Hahn. Coming from a Messianic Jewish background I get it, but he takes it further and connects all the dots. He makes me hungry for the Eucharist. I already have more knowledge and passion than many cradle Catholics I meet. Proof the Church needs to send this wonderful teacher to every Parrish or distribute his books and teach classes. I have brought 2 fallen away Catholics back and 1 interested co worker iasking questions. Not me..it is these teachings and the Holy Spirit.

I’ve just recently found Dr Brant and he is fascinating!!!! So thankful to have found him because he has opened so many doors in the Catholic faith that I never knew.
Ikr? And I have been a Catholic since I was 13! Now 53 and just amazed on the richness that I have not known. I actually stumbled... is the word im using ..across Dr Pitre because I listen to a lot of Dr Bergsma's talk through the ICC ....
he is opening the doors of HELL to roman catholics who simply want to be lazy (too lazy to read and understand God;s Word) , and follow someone who is supporting false man-made roman catholic doctrines.

Love Dr. Pitre's books and his presentations. I have done 2 study groups that have used his works. Everyone loved what we learned in them.
I ordered 5 each , the Jewish roots of the Eucharist and the Jewish roots of Mary, I’m giving it away. I have a language barrier in explains things , with the books , I hope I can be of help somehow. God bless all the Catholic defenders .

Dr. Pitre is spot on. Formation of seminarians, preparation of those seeking marriage in the Church, indeed the formation of everyone of the faithful, should be thoroughly grounded and formed in the Bible -- both the Old and New Testaments. In an interview many years ago as his personal world ministry and preaching began to come to an end, the Reverend Billy Graham said that one thing he regretted most about his life in ministry is that he did not spend more time reading (studying) the Bible than reading (studying) books about the Bible. U.S. Supreme Court Justices Scalia and Thomas, in separate interviews, said that if they could change the way law is taught in the United States, law students would spend a lot more time reading through and studying the U.S. Constitution and the other founding documents rather than spending most of their time studying and discussing the rulings of past Supreme Courts and the commentaries of others on those rulings. The key is to root, ground, and form the faithful -- the laity and the clergy -- in the founding document: the Bible.

I just finished the book and I highly recommend it. Dr. Pitre has a very coherent and clear writing style. A nice companion to this book is a series by Bishop Jan Liesen "Voice of the Bridegroom". Some material does overlap, but they compliment each other very nicely.

@Patrick Montgomery there's no need of big books when armed with simple history. it's the oldest church that can be traced to Jesus and His apostles (unlike protestantism which is the tradition of men), thus it's not even a denomination. have a blessed time learning about our faith
Totally agree! Dr. Pitre must be inspired by the Holy Spirit. Others, who IMHO, have a similarly inspired and facile writing style: Dr. Hahn, Dr. Bergsma and of course the Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen (RIP).

So many of our educators are off track, moving away from 1st principles as Dr Pitre called for, towards humanism at best. I went to a catholic Bible study and we were talking about Noah and the speaker said only that part of the earth was flooded or there would have been incest. I don't see anything on the passage that says it was only an area of the world am I reading it wrong
There is no official Catholic interpretation of this particular part of scripture. Different theologians over the millenia have offered many different interpretations - some literal, some analogical, and everything in between. There ARE some important things every Catholic should take away from the story. Like the prefiguring of baptism, a symbol for the Church and for Mary. I think the Catechism would give you a brief overview (or a Catholic study bible) and if you follow the footnotes in the Catechism you can go down this rabbit hole reading the Church Fathers, Church documents and biblical studies on this particular passage in Scripture.
Even though they are Lutheran, Check-out ' Answers in Genesis ' they have done some deep studies in Genesis, you won't be disappointed. They are the ones that built the Ark in Kentucky. the name Ken Ham should get you there as well.

The ancient Jews were God's chosen people. Jesus, the Word Incarnate was born and taught the Jews for the most part (except Samaritan woman, demon-possessed Legion, et. al.) and then Jesus sent out his apostles and disciples to go to the ends of the earth proclaiming the good news. And they did and the Catholic Church has been established in Europe, Americas, Asia, Africa; and we all must recognize the Jewish roots of our Church. Dr. Pitre wrote a book on that very topic. Get it. It's a great read like any of his books
