  • There are so many more reasons than 5 - cycling has changed my life and my words can't explain that well enough!
Apologies for the poor quality in the cafe...I blame the camera man (aka Kyle the hubby!).
Side note - I would never risk cycling in icy conditions unless I had my ice tyres on, stay safe!
Thank you so much for watching!
The following companies (that you'll see in my content) kindly give me their stuff for free to support me on my cycling adventures (which I’m super grateful for) : Le Col + SunGod

I started cycling after we had a miscarriage and I felt lost, upset and completely detached from my mind. Also was struggling with my own body image as I was severely overweight.
I started biking to clear my mind, to get lost inside myself and tune the world out and get healthy at the same time.
Cut to 4 years, 60lbs, 5 different bikes and thousands of miles later I finally have the clarity i so desperately needed.
I now pay it forward through volunteering for a community cycling event, charity events and other activities.
Cycling therapy is a real thing

Thank you. You’re absolutely right about nobody talking about it. Especially men. Something I learned is that it’s ok to feel again, and it’s ok to be weak.

I'm also an ex-Nurse, and cycle for utilitarian reasons, leisure, pleasure, fitness, shopping, commuting, and most importantly, fun.
I can't help feeling a little bit smug when I just glide past an endless stream of cars when they are stuck in a traffic jam, and I never see them come past me again. Also, parking spaces in NHS Hospitals, and in town-centres are usually very expensive and often in short supply, but you can park a bike just about anywhere for free.
I love it how most bike videos on here seem to end-up in a cafe or a country pub! My bike often develops steering problems when I am riding past Costa Coffee, and in spite of my very best efforts, it takes me right up to the door!

I started really cycling when I bought my Allez in 2021. Before that I rode urban and gravel on fixed gear and single speed bikes. Gears opened up the wide open road and now I do road bikes, gravel, and some mountain.
All the same therapeutic attributes of motorcycling, but cheaper, quieter, and requires more physical exertion, which is the biggest reason: to keep fit.

Went through a bad stretch in 2019 which ended in June 2020 right in the middle of the lockdown. From that day forward I was on the pedals 2-3x per week through 2022. @@amy.cycling.adventures If you're into pastries, come to Iowa and do RAGBRAI end of July each year. Lots of riders, good food, booze (if you're into that), fun and pies from the locals as you pedal your way from West to East Iowa (Missouri to the Mississippi river.) I refer it as the "Sturgis" for cyclists if you know what I mean. Last year, we had a cyclist from Sweden who was traveling from the West to the East Coast on a personal tour across the U.S. and met up with one of our bus members who introduced him to RAGBRAI and he spent the week with us before heading out to NY.

I encountered a degenerative meniscus tear after many years of long distance running, needed to exercise - and bought myself a Wattbike. All I can say is I love cycling, even indoors, and do between 10-15 miles everyday - and I am trying to push myself to go further.
I get my outdoor fix walking, as the roads where I live are probably too dangerous for cyclists. But, one day I might by an outdoor bike though, and see if I enjoy that too. For now I will stick to my indoor cycle, and pushing myself to do more mileage.

All good reasons to get out and ride. I have never suffered any type of mental illness or fatigue, but maybe it's because I have always been a cyclist. I started doing longer rides when I turned ten yrs old, and my Dad bought me a ten speed bicycle. My first ride on it was a hilly 17 miler at 10 yrs of age and i was hooked. I have had the pleasure of riding with some awesome friends on some great rides over the years and still to this day continue to do so. I love road cycling for the endurance and cardio aspect, and mtn biking for the adventure and how it keeps my reflexes sharp. My stem cap on my road bike says, "Enjoy the Ride"
