I don't think LV are getting it wrong. I think it's a sales tactic. I think these pre-orders are a way to build hype for their drops. I think they scare customers into panic ordering. They 100% have solid projections for production availability and sales. Like Hermes' spending history, LV has figured out a way to secure customers' money.
100%. A company of this size doesn't launch "pre-orders" without knowing what their production capacity is going to be. Manufactured drama and scarcity to jack up prices, but people keep participating in it, so 🤷♂
Had Alma BB in my cart online. Could not check out, then removed from cart. On hold with client services for 45 minutes, now automated message says "Louis Vuitton Client Services is unavailable". This does not feel like a luxury shopping experience. What a disaster.
Unfortunately I'm beginning to think this is a marketing strategy. They are creating scarcity to justify pricing. Simple supply and demand. If this is the case it will surely backfire on them. I think consumers are more saavy these days and are quite tired of corporations taking advantage of them.

I got offered to preorder something the day it launched in December, I was told then I got lucky to get something as the prorders closed not long after. I’m going down to Manchester tomorrow to collected my item and I am so excited. I got told on 1st January that my order had made it to store then I received an email today to confirm. This is my dream collection and I am so excited x
I did a “pre-order” in early December. Paid in full and was told there was no guarantee I would get what I ordered. Fortunately, my CA is in the flagship store in NYC and she was able to secure all of my items today. Wish things had worked out differently for everyone.
They have not opened the site for orders here in the US I’ve been up and out of sleep since midnight 1/2 and nothing yet. This was so poorly planned and makes me think of the Christmas animation pre orders from back in the day. I had to pay in full and wait although I eventually received my order. This time my SA reached out to me yesterday and said he would try.
I stayed up until after midnight and couldn't order here in NY. I then tried at 6 not open for orders. I tried when I arrived at work by 9 it was still not open. 10:15 I was able to put my pieces in the cart however before I could purchase I got a notification that said items in your cart are sold out.
No I was not successful allowed me to add everything to cart then wouldn’t open my card even tried Apple Pay and it would allow me to put in my address but then cut out… I was up until about 3 am then kept trying this morning until it changed from coming soon to now and place in cart- this was the worst drop yet… it was open in other countries so of course it would limited stock by the time it opened to the US

I tried calling customer service and after 40 minutes on hold an automated voice alerted me that their customer service was unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances. 🤦🏽♀️ I only wanted one small item, the pencil case (just have way too much already). If it’s meant to be, maybe I’ll score on the next drop.
Everything launched at3pm online in Aus today and there was still the speedys, Alma’s, etc available. Pretty much everything. And I’m not a vip but pre ordered through customer service centre (no store in my state). I e had a great experience. Maybe given our smaller population in Aus….. good luck to everyone. I hope you all get what your heart desires.
I logged on at 3 and was able to get the two things I wanted, didn’t bother asking to pre-order. Many items were still available several hours later too. I wonder if the high prices put people off buying?
I was on the website right before it launched. I wasn’t able to do a pre order. But right at launch it said everything was sold out. Between being dropped from calls and the website breaking down, I was finally able to order the card case I wanted after 4 hours. The purchase went through but now it’s saying the sell is pending
the ordering process today was extraordinarily bad. the site crashed, the payment did not go through, items alternated between being available and not and then again within seconds. I can see my order (one random one) on my account but it is waiting for validation. so I habe no idea if I will get anything or not. what did you order?

I love everything and the detailing with the packaging and stickers. I still have some slgs from the original collection and this experience with all the details is better than I expected.

My S.A. reached out to me this morning and told me that it would drop at 2:00 eastern time US. She asked me what I wanted and said she’d text me back at 2. Everything I wanted was available and she said there won’t be a problem ordering anything someone wants. Three of my friends pre-ordered and are getting exactly what they requested. I think the rumors at just creating false alarm.

Louis Vuitton is totally doing this on purpose. I went in store today in Nashville at opening, and barely anything was available. They said orders open at 1pm. I ended up getting the TM High Rise. It's so cute!
I’d like to share my experience: I contacted LV when they opened the pre-order on Dec 8th, in Italy. I paid the full amount. Then they started to say that the pre order was not granted, and if I wanted they would have paid me back. I told them that I wanted the items and that I’d have waited until Jan 2nd. On Jan 2nd, they told me that again that nothing is available and everything they have in shop is ‘not available’. I went crazy this morning and clarified that the customer care is important and I’ll expect to receive the items I paid for in December. The made some cash in before the end of the year… very clever, but from a customer experience perspective it is a shame. I am still waiting for my items even if my shopping assistant told me that they’ll arrive…. Let’s see, in any case I personally don’t like all this ‘uncertainty’.
Honestly, I placed my order (nano speedy) on 17.12., yesterday they confirmed that the bag would arrive in 5 days in the store and that they would then send it to my address. I'm not a VIC or anything like that, and the competition in the store is huge (Italy), so I was pleasantly surprised.🥳🥳🥳
In October I ordered an item from the LV website in Australia. It was add to cart, so, I did, and paid in full. Now, early January, LV are still looking around the world for my item. Not in Australia, not in Asia, now trying Europe. Their online purchase system and stock control is faulty. Now, it's showing itself as unorganised again in the latest collection. I'm about to demand a refund. I hope others have better luck than me. 😞
Dior do this. They have done it to me twice. One occasion, they couldn't fulfil the order at all, and my second choice took them 3 weeks to fulfil as they were looking globally for it. It must be an LVMH thing. It's very poor for the money paid.
I ordered online today went to check out and poof it was gone! I did this 2 more times same thing happened again! So I didn’t get anything I wanted I will wait and see if these items come back and I will try again. Very frustrating I can’t imagine having pre ordered then not getting that. They need to better plan these launches out.
This is so interesting! I was in LV last weekend (in San Francisco) and they asked me if I wanted to order anything from the collection. I was so surprised and said I thought it was all sold out, and they told me no and I could order a few pieces if I’d like. I was shocked!
@@Wildunfiltered I have the confirmation email, and it shows in my orders as Pending Validation with an estimated delivery date of 6th/7th. I know people have had orders in pending validation cancelled, though, so I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed. I hope you get yours. It's the staff I feel for who are at the coal face of it all.
This morning at LV Bond Street, all items are orderable but they only allowed one piece slg & bag per customer. Don’t waste time thinking about whether LV get it wrong or not. If you get it you get it, no big deal
Oh my goodness, so many things I could say about this 😟 Think we both live in the same area and London is a blooming long way to have to travel (particularly in naff weather and when there's stores that are closer), so fingers crossed your items are there ready for you 🤞
Was considering this the first time to make a purchase with LV. And I can now confirm I have no interest in ever becoming a customer. Gucci treats me way better anyways.
Hi Deb, Happy New Year! This launch was a bit of a disaster. I'm lucky enough to have my CA get me a speedy 25 & Romy card holder but i did put a full deposit a few days ago. I was warned that nothing is guaranteed though. Sadly, my store which is a flagship store, did not receive any packaging or new window display. My CA promised to ship me out my packaging because she felt horrible not having any packaging for any of her customers.There were also no bags or small leather goods on display or available to buy. Whatever stock my store had were all preorders and kept in the back for everyone who had paid. My CA said she got yelled at by so many clients because preorders were just not going through and others were just mad that there was nothing to even see. Some stores like the one at the Wynn Las Vegas got more stock than others but those quickly sold out too. I'm still on the hunt for the panda bag charm which seems to be sold out everywhere. According to the threads on Purseforum many preorders fell through.
They should have opened their special pre-orders as far back as July. Then they would have had knowledge as to what to produce, so all special orders could be filled. This is basic good business. You get a feel of the demand far enough ahead to make sure you have supply. If LVMH underestimated the demand, then I believe it was intentional to cause even more hype. If this is the case, it would be gross disrespect for their clients.

I went to bond st this morning 10 minutes after that just opened and was told that most things were already sold out but I can order it in but it’s not guaranteed. Also he told me it’s was one bag per costumer. So I went to Selfridges instead and I was able to get two bags. The SA there told me that I could buy up to three items.

But the shit show is real and extremely disappointing. I’m new to LV and this launch would have been my first large purchase from them and also I’ll be going to Europe in October so I was really wanting to wait to pick up one or two more pieces while on vacation. In Canada the site still states coming soon after 6:00 pm. I would love to know if anyone was actually able to order the items they wanted from the website. Yesterday or earlier this morning I was perusing the Australian site which showed when the site would be available to order and there were still quite a few items available like the speedy and the Alma so stupid me thought no worries it will all work out. Nothing but errors and items unavailable all day. This will be a very short LV journey for me. J.
I think the orders may have been opened purely to help them allocate the already done production numbers to stores based on the need. I heard that orders closed 2/12, if that’s true a month is not enough time to produce stock specifically for orders. I think the popular bags demand would have outstripped supply, but there seems to be plenty of less popular product available on the website
In the city where I am, I was told by my sales associate if I wanted to prepay the item I am interested because the rest of the pieces were already sold 30 minutes before the boutique open on the launch day. I told my SA its okay and will try my luck as I live few minutes away from the boutique and if its really meant to be its ok if the pieces are no longer available. When I arrived exactly the opening hour of the boutique the lv floor was crazy and i notice a lot of staffs were waiting for their client. My SA is standing at the entrance door as I have an appointment. In the end, was able to get 1 of 2 pieces I want. The piece I got was the last one on display. I initially saw a couple of people check the piece and when theyre done my SA immediately handed it over for me to inspect and put it in the dust bag. I think the SAs were advised by their manager that people can have a quick look and if theyre not paying it then it needs to go back on display. Its my 1st lux bag. I only start working when the original collection was released so I was really hoping this time I could get one from the collection. I love the multi color bag in black I think it's one of the most iconic louis vuitton collection ever made.
One of the biggest brands in the world - Messed Up ! I don’t understand how customers are okay with paying money up front, and potentially not receiving their items 🤪. Obviously LV aren’t bothered YOUR MONEY sitting in their account made them more money
I was offered to pre-order here in the states, I declined. I like the vintage items more if I’m being honest lol. I don’t like the scare tactics they use, I don’t like the price points here in the states, it just feels like being taken advantage of and I don’t like that. I love Louis Vuitton! I went into LV in Manchester today to have a look at a trunk bag. They had all the new bags in and I asked to look at the black multi coloured speedy 30 just for size. The lady told me they had one in stock if I wanted to buy it so they are available!
I just left the store (arrived at opening) and they told me they only received pre-order stock. They told me I would have to order online. When I visited during the pre-order period they wouldn’t allow me to order because I wasn’t a VIC. WTF
For a luxury house like Louis Vuitton to get this launch so wrong is deplorable. To have so many customers disappointed is not a great marketing achievement and whoever is in charge of this launch needs to be sacked.
I've been waiting since last night, I live in Sweden and I was able to buy the Alma BB bag and after 20 minutes there was nothing left on the page, only a couple of things... I only got the bag.
I was told that they can try to place an order. They require full payment upfront but there’s no guarantee. It’s line getting concert tickets. So for the preorders in Aus - I picked what I wanted but I’m not a VIC or maybe I’m the bottom rung. CA said ok need full payment and then will need to place orders during this window. So money first order placed during the window the next day. My neighbour wanted a pochette accessoires but it was the day after first round of orders closed. They then reopened them another day later so I was able to pre order one for her too. Then after pre orders were closed I realised I wanted some SLGs - 3. So again, same process. Pay in full before launch day then my CA who is on holidays (I did offer to try to order myself online but she told me there would be less available), put my order through today. She said it was a rush like buying Taylor swift tickets 😂 it sounds like pure madness! I’m so grateful to her although my bank account is not.

My preorder already arrived in store a couple of days ago but I'm crazy and I'm waiting for my CA to return from leave so we can go and have lunch together when I go in to pick my things up - that's not till 18 Jan. I could've had it sent to me or gone in already but I'm hoping my SLGs arrive by then so I'll grab it all at once. I also can't stand when people treat the staff poorly. I told my CA not to stress or go out of her way and that I understand I'm low on the pecking order of things - it's not worth it. They earn very little and some people are so entitled.
I preordered 4 items from the Maui store, to be picked up when I visit in February. My SA texted me yesterday that my orders were in. Though she wasn’t able to get me the white Speedy, but I was never charged for it
I pre-ordered 6 pieces in Dec, SA came back few days later saying 1 item isn't available in UK and only this piece got cancelled. Pickup all 5 pieces in store today. BUT the problem I have is that in other countries, they give clients the token for the upcoming capsule machine 1 token per item purchase while they're only giving 1 token for 1 purchase in UK, they don't have the ribbon nor stickers as well, this is ridiculous. Moreover, the popup store is only opening in London on 9 Jan, later than the launch date?! Showing the norm of delays in the UK, such a big joke!

I ordered the Speedy 30 in black and have been told that the store is still waiting on the Speedy 30s. My initial ETA was 1/1/2025. Wondering if you are waiting on the same bag. Did something go wrong with the production of the bag and that is why they don’t have a definite ETA?
I ordered one thing online on Friday a bag. It took me five times to add delete add delete from the shopping cart and before I was able to actually put my credit card in. But I did finally get to that point and got the acknowledgment email. Let’s see if it ships… I’m keeping my hopes high… Might be a bad idea. 😂😂
I was surprised to not find the key cles on the Australian site. I was able to get one piece that I couldn’t get in Canada on the Australian site that my daughter will ship to me.
💯‼🙌🏻My design clients are ALL so thankful they have the vintage LV murakami pieces as they said, when the collection was exquisite, luxurious and classic…..one of them told me she will hunt down all of the vintage pieces as the new collection ones are in no comparison to them.
it's interesting because a while back people were saying it would be a flop/not sell much and now they have sold way more than what they can offer. very interested to see what it ends up with. i personally don't think anyone should pay for a bag ahead of time. I'm fine with you auto-charging me when the bag arrives, however before no thank you. because now my money is stuck there and if I don't get the bag it'll be even longer before I get a refund.
I went in to the store here in Denmark. I was looking for a Murakami card holder which they did not have in stock which was weird because I went on launch date. I was one of the first people there, instead they offered me another card holder and told me I could buy any item I want from the sales rep. Which I thought was nice, this was done with a full deposit. I ended up just buying the notebook which was avaliable in store 😂
In my always cynical mind think this Murakami fiasco was carefully planned by LVMH. On October 15, 2024 LVMH released its results for Q3 2024. Sales of the group dropped 4.4% to 19.08 billion EUR (20.71 billion USD), missing the forecast set by analysts at Alpha Vision at 20.01 billion EUR (21.73 billion USD). How much did they collect in revenue from pre-orders of this Murakami collection? Wonder if they made up the shortfall of 930 million EUR (1.02 billion USD) between actual sales and forecast sales of Q3 2024? Would certainly make Q4 2024 look a lot rosier.
I know there was never a 100% guarantee but I did begin to hope that by pre-ordering and paying in full I would get my piece! As you know it’s a bit up in the air as to whether I will now. I really think LV should take a partial deposit rather than full payment if it is not a dead cert! A pre-order, I thought, tells LV what the demand is, so they should have known by now whether they could meet it. I feel sorry for all the SAs who are just doing their job but who will receive the brunt of clients’ disappointment x
I just think it's wrong how it's been done I went in a few weeks ago to selfridges bham and no pre orders were being taken, I was told to return to the store on the 2nd jan when they would have the stock in for me to look at well we went and that wasn't the case I just feel lile the whole vibe has been shady with how they have dealt with it

I got in line early in the morning. Most pieces were leftovers from other buyers who had preordered but decided not to keep the item. I spoke with multiple CA’s and they were willing to start a preorder which I kindly REFUSED to place. I purchased the Speedy 20 in mirror collection in October but didn’t receive it until mid December!😳 I managed to find the side trunk at a local LV store and ordered the shoes online. I refuse to Preoder and let my money sit. I still want the speedy 25 but I’m turned off by all the Preoder drama.
The app didnt update until mid day and 5mins later nothings left. You have to book an appointment when searching for store stock. Cynical me is saying they have the stock in plenty. I stay in Michigan and was at the mall way before opening to secure the ties I wanted - 10 minutes before the store opened we saw the workers going around and taking down majority of the items that they had on they display from the collection and replacing them with items not from the collab. Once we got inside there weren't that many options left available bag wise but luckily I was just going for some the black and white bandeau and was able to place an order in store for the brown bandeau which at 2pm EST did go through. I know we never get too much in Michigan anyway as we only JUST got an Hermes store but hopefully that changes and with th next drops we'll get more items in store!

I’m not sure how they underestimated the demand for this because people were going crazy just at the rumor of this. I’m sure they will adjust production levels and things will be available eventually. It doesn’t really benefit them to stop production knowing how in demand it is. Business 101 is supply and demand. I don’t see this being sold out forever. Especially in this economy if you have something so wanted you do what you can to get it out and sold. I understand the disappointment from clients. If you put out thousands of dollars up front you have an expectation…”guarantee” or not.
If the pre-orders were done in December, there is no way that production is done - according to the pre-orders - until beginning of January. Meaning: I'm pretty sure that they had their first drop already produced end of last year. So it's pretty normal, that the stock is not matching the pre-orders. Just my 2 cents
I have no way of knowing what stock levels actually were, so I can't comment on that, but I will say that the communication around this launch has been atrocious. I only managed to get an order in because I was refreshing the website constantly because my online CA has been so uncommunicative, and if I had waited for the email notification I signed up for to go out, I would have missed out completely.

I went to see my SA on 8th December (I’m in California) and I paid in full. When we were messaging before then, I was telling her which ones I am interested in. She advised me to focus on one item and put a deposit (basically, pay in full) to have a better chance of getting an item. I paid for the Alma BB (my #1 choice) and this morning (1/3/25) I received a text from her that my Alma BB is in the store! 🥳 I am going to pick it up on Sunday and I already told her which item in the noir collection I want to order next. 🥰 I do hope that everyone who paid in full will get their items.🤞🏼
They have overstretched because the sales over the three months has been bad on the general product. I do think they are overstocked or under stocked. So what has happened is that they have taken more orders than what they can produce. They are desperate for sales, to many orders. The other issue is the tariffs that will be introduced from end of January. So with production, if that happens, it’s not going to be worthwhile to make anything until the price has been changed. I do hope that people get a refund. It’s not really worth it. We need to get crafts people to do bags.

Saw several IG influencers do unboxings yesterday of their gifted bags and really disappointed as I could only preorder, just a few days ago, my SA let me get what wasn't sold in their shore, 5 small items(bandos, card holder, wallet, sandals) and no bags. They didn't need to gift bags especially when good customers ready to buy can't get a bag.
The same for me. However, the order is still in waiting for validation stage so I hope they won't cancel it. What is also weird is that I only got confirmation email from Paypal and nothing from LV until now (and I ordered 8 hours ago).
Took me a while to get a piece from a few drops that were "iconic" lk up to 5 weeks after I placed my pre- order. I'm late @ even looking it over I'm still trying to enjoy what I have & make room for more exploration. I'd really not planned on participating I'm aware LV is pulling out all the stops due to an anticipated slump in retail. Happy for the re-release but the versions I love are the pre - loved broken in versions that are not meant to just be pretty but to be used so as to use them every day is appropriate. I'm still on the fence but looking some pieces are beautiful some not so much. But there are pieces reported to b sold out such as the short wallet & long wallet & pochette available as I speak online in the USA. Can't wait to see what's going on & what you get.
It’s my understanding that France has outlawed the destruction of excess luxury stock so luxury companies are under producing for the orders because they are expecting some presale orders to be cancelled or returned. They don’t want leftovers and it seems they don’t care who they anger. Of course their VIP will get their orders fulfilled.

Seriously? If you as a company are not sure you can deliver, then it is not a good idea to take 100% payment with the order. As a customer, I would assume that I will get the product I have ordered when I have paid for it. Otherwise, it is to lift their sales a little in 2024, since their share prices are not doing so well. Most are measured on turnover until the end of the year

I don't believe it is really sold out. They're playing games. This is the first drop and then we have the blossom collection and the cherry collection coming. This is a set up to get people to buy, buy, buy for fear of missing out on the next collections.
I think these rumours are unfounded but happy I didn’t pre-order and took my chances on the day. Logged on here in Australia at the time it went live online and things started to change bit by bit from ‘Notify Me’ to ‘Add to cart’. I bought the couple of things I wanted but it did say one will ship in 6 days, the other in 10 weeks 😂. Several hours later I popped back online to see what was available and almost every bag other than the Speedy Nano was available still.
Yep, I noticed that. Your site worked as it should. You had a notice stating the go live time, we in Canada did not. I have been unable to purchase any of the four items I wanted and I’ve been refreshing like a mad person. Nothing is available. I’m not sure if anyone in Canada was able to order online today. Phone and online chat are both down. It’s a mess; just chaotic. Oh and the purchase page still states coming soon. Sorry, I lied I did find three products for sale a 16k suitcase and two 1k ish dog collars. J.

Doesn’t surprise me…this happened to me 20 yrs ago when the collection first came out. My item was given to another customer after contacting me for pick up. I cancelled and didn’t shop LV for several yrs.
I didn't go for this collection. I would probably like a smaller piece as its so iconic though but it's obviously not worth it based on this gossip. I can't imagine paying thousands for this apparent chaos. that's not luxury. I don't think I would buy from a brand again if they took full amount in a preorder and didn't provide my item tbh. luxury is based on experience as well as the item itself for me though. I would be very unimpressed. I'm still at the point when I have to think carefully over my purchases as I can't afford to get everything I want though maybe thats why I have this opinion!
I've heard the exact opposite, but that they will hold back fulfilling the orders for a few weeks to create FOMO for the line. It's stupid and disrespectful for people who have already paid good money for their items.
My hot take is that LV has chosen intentional incompetence with the launch and my second hot take is that they probably have secret manufacturing problems that haven’t been fully worked out to get the quantity up to where they would like it to be. Just a guess.
I feel like the collection is too expensive for things that aren’t necessarily “new”. I really wanted the pochette but I can’t justify paying $2100 when the traditional monogram print is $1500 and before then it was $1200🤦🏽♀️. The multicolor pochette originally released at a sale point of about $450…. It’s insane 😂
I really wanted 2 pieces. But I’m so uninterested in these games. So…I thank them for helping me save my money. I don’t like these games and think if people stop playing them they might learn good customer service.

Whether the rumors are true or not, this has created so much attention, which may have been the intention to begin with. If it is true, this is not fair to those who preordered and paid the entire amount. Not good customer service.
Where do these "rumours" come from? If you read the comments under these types of hype Youtbue videos, please are saying they've received their orders.
I don't think LV are getting it wrong. I think it's a sales tactic. I think these pre-orders are a way to build hype for their drops. I think they scare customers into panic ordering. They 100% have solid projections for production availability and sales. Like Hermes' spending history, LV has figured out a way to secure customers' money.
100%. A company of this size doesn't launch "pre-orders" without knowing what their production capacity is going to be. Manufactured drama and scarcity to jack up prices, but people keep participating in it, so 🤷♂

Unfortunately I'm beginning to think this is a marketing strategy. They are creating scarcity to justify pricing. Simple supply and demand. If this is the case it will surely backfire on them. I think consumers are more saavy these days and are quite tired of corporations taking advantage of them.

I got offered to preorder something the day it launched in December, I was told then I got lucky to get something as the prorders closed not long after. I’m going down to Manchester tomorrow to collected my item and I am so excited. I got told on 1st January that my order had made it to store then I received an email today to confirm. This is my dream collection and I am so excited x

I did a “pre-order” in early December. Paid in full and was told there was no guarantee I would get what I ordered. Fortunately, my CA is in the flagship store in NYC and she was able to secure all of my items today. Wish things had worked out differently for everyone.

They have not opened the site for orders here in the US I’ve been up and out of sleep since midnight 1/2 and nothing yet. This was so poorly planned and makes me think of the Christmas animation pre orders from back in the day. I had to pay in full and wait although I eventually received my order. This time my SA reached out to me yesterday and said he would try.
Any luck yet? I was able to “add to cart” 3 times in the past hour. Unfortunately it said “out of stock” in the middle of checkout each time.
I stayed up until after midnight and couldn't order here in NY. I then tried at 6 not open for orders. I tried when I arrived at work by 9 it was still not open. 10:15 I was able to put my pieces in the cart however before I could purchase I got a notification that said items in your cart are sold out.
No I was not successful allowed me to add everything to cart then wouldn’t open my card even tried Apple Pay and it would allow me to put in my address but then cut out… I was up until about 3 am then kept trying this morning until it changed from coming soon to now and place in cart- this was the worst drop yet… it was open in other countries so of course it would limited stock by the time it opened to the US

I tried calling customer service and after 40 minutes on hold an automated voice alerted me that their customer service was unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances. 🤦🏽♀️ I only wanted one small item, the pencil case (just have way too much already). If it’s meant to be, maybe I’ll score on the next drop.

Everything launched at3pm online in Aus today and there was still the speedys, Alma’s, etc available. Pretty much everything. And I’m not a vip but pre ordered through customer service centre (no store in my state). I e had a great experience. Maybe given our smaller population in Aus….. good luck to everyone. I hope you all get what your heart desires.

I was on the website right before it launched. I wasn’t able to do a pre order. But right at launch it said everything was sold out. Between being dropped from calls and the website breaking down, I was finally able to order the card case I wanted after 4 hours. The purchase went through but now it’s saying the sell is pending

I love everything and the detailing with the packaging and stickers. I still have some slgs from the original collection and this experience with all the details is better than I expected.

My S.A. reached out to me this morning and told me that it would drop at 2:00 eastern time US. She asked me what I wanted and said she’d text me back at 2. Everything I wanted was available and she said there won’t be a problem ordering anything someone wants. Three of my friends pre-ordered and are getting exactly what they requested. I think the rumors at just creating false alarm.

I’d like to share my experience: I contacted LV when they opened the pre-order on Dec 8th, in Italy. I paid the full amount. Then they started to say that the pre order was not granted, and if I wanted they would have paid me back. I told them that I wanted the items and that I’d have waited until Jan 2nd. On Jan 2nd, they told me that again that nothing is available and everything they have in shop is ‘not available’. I went crazy this morning and clarified that the customer care is important and I’ll expect to receive the items I paid for in December.
The made some cash in before the end of the year… very clever, but from a customer experience perspective it is a shame.
I am still waiting for my items even if my shopping assistant told me that they’ll arrive…. Let’s see, in any case I personally don’t like all this ‘uncertainty’.

Honestly, I placed my order (nano speedy) on 17.12., yesterday they confirmed that the bag would arrive in 5 days in the store and that they would then send it to my address. I'm not a VIC or anything like that, and the competition in the store is huge (Italy), so I was pleasantly surprised.🥳🥳🥳
In October I ordered an item from the LV website in Australia. It was add to cart, so, I did, and paid in full. Now, early January, LV are still looking around the world for my item. Not in Australia, not in Asia, now trying Europe. Their online purchase system and stock control is faulty. Now, it's showing itself as unorganised again in the latest collection. I'm about to demand a refund. I hope others have better luck than me. 😞
Dior do this. They have done it to me twice. One occasion, they couldn't fulfil the order at all, and my second choice took them 3 weeks to fulfil as they were looking globally for it. It must be an LVMH thing. It's very poor for the money paid.

I ordered online today went to check out and poof it was gone! I did this 2 more times same thing happened again! So I didn’t get anything I wanted I will wait and see if these items come back and I will try again. Very frustrating I can’t imagine having pre ordered then not getting that. They need to better plan these launches out.

I know people have had orders in pending validation cancelled, though, so I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed. I hope you get yours. This morning at LV Bond Street, all items are orderable but they only allowed one piece slg & bag per customer. Don’t waste time thinking about whether LV get it wrong or not. If you get it you get it, no big deal

Hi Deb, Happy New Year! This launch was a bit of a disaster. I'm lucky enough to have my CA get me a speedy 25 & Romy card holder but i did put a full deposit a few days ago. I was warned that nothing is guaranteed though. Sadly, my store which is a flagship store, did not receive any packaging or new window display. My CA promised to ship me out my packaging because she felt horrible not having any packaging for any of her customers.There were also no bags or small leather goods on display or available to buy. Whatever stock my store had were all preorders and kept in the back for everyone who had paid. My CA said she got yelled at by so many clients because preorders were just not going through and others were just mad that there was nothing to even see. Some stores like the one at the Wynn Las Vegas got more stock than others but those quickly sold out too. I'm still on the hunt for the panda bag charm which seems to be sold out everywhere. According to the threads on Purseforum many preorders fell through.

They should have opened their special pre-orders as far back as July. Then they would have had knowledge as to what to produce, so all special orders could be filled. This is basic good business. You get a feel of the demand far enough ahead to make sure you have supply. If LVMH underestimated the demand, then I believe it was intentional to cause even more hype. If this is the case, it would be gross disrespect for their clients.

I went to bond st this morning 10 minutes after that just opened and was told that most things were already sold out but I can order it in but it’s not guaranteed. Also he told me it’s was one bag per costumer. So I went to Selfridges instead and I was able to get two bags. The SA there told me that I could buy up to three items.

But the shit show is real and extremely disappointing. I’m new to LV and this launch would have been my first large purchase from them and also I’ll be going to Europe in October so I was really wanting to wait to pick up one or two more pieces while on vacation. In Canada the site still states coming soon after 6:00 pm. I would love to know if anyone was actually able to order the items they wanted from the website. Yesterday or earlier this morning I was perusing the Australian site which showed when the site would be available to order and there were still quite a few items available like the speedy and the Alma so stupid me thought no worries it will all work out. Nothing but errors and items unavailable all day. This will be a very short LV journey for me. J.
I think the orders may have been opened purely to help them allocate the already done production numbers to stores based on the need. I heard that orders closed 2/12, if that’s true a month is not enough time to produce stock specifically for orders. I think the popular bags demand would have outstripped supply, but there seems to be plenty of less popular product available on the website
In the city where I am, I was told by my sales associate if I wanted to prepay the item I am interested because the rest of the pieces were already sold 30 minutes before the boutique open on the launch day. I told my SA its okay and will try my luck as I live few minutes away from the boutique and if its really meant to be its ok if the pieces are no longer available. When I arrived exactly the opening hour of the boutique the lv floor was crazy and i notice a lot of staffs were waiting for their client. My SA is standing at the entrance door as I have an appointment. In the end, was able to get 1 of 2 pieces I want. The piece I got was the last one on display. I initially saw a couple of people check the piece and when theyre done my SA immediately handed it over for me to inspect and put it in the dust bag. I think the SAs were advised by their manager that people can have a quick look and if theyre not paying it then it needs to go back on display. Its my 1st lux bag. I only start working when the original collection was released so I was really hoping this time I could get one from the collection. I love the multi color bag in black I think it's one of the most iconic louis vuitton collection ever made.

I was offered to pre-order here in the states, I declined. I like the vintage items more if I’m being honest lol. I don’t like the scare tactics they use, I don’t like the price points here in the states, it just feels like being taken advantage of and I don’t like that. I love Louis Vuitton! Love them downnnn, but I do not like how they’re going about this drop nor the prices they’ve put the items at. I feel like it’s a mockery of us LV consumers. I went into LV in Manchester today to have a look at a trunk bag. They had all the new bags in and I asked to look at the black multi coloured speedy 30 just for size. The lady told me they had one in stock if I wanted to buy it so they are available!

I was told that they can try to place an order. They require full payment upfront but there’s no guarantee. It’s line getting concert tickets. So for the preorders in Aus - I picked what I wanted but I’m not a VIC or maybe I’m the bottom rung. CA said ok need full payment and then will need to place orders during this window. So money first order placed during the window the next day.
My neighbour wanted a pochette accessoires but it was the day after first round of orders closed. They then reopened them another day later so I was able to pre order one for her too.
Then after pre orders were closed I realised I wanted some SLGs - 3. So again, same process. Pay in full before launch day then my CA who is on holidays (I did offer to try to order myself online but she told me there would be less available), put my order through today. She said it was a rush like buying Taylor swift tickets 😂 it sounds like pure madness! I’m so grateful to her although my bank account is not.

I also can't stand when people treat the staff poorly. I told my CA not to stress or go out of her way and that I understand I'm low on the pecking order of things - it's not worth it. They earn very little and some people are so entitled.
I preordered 4 items from the Maui store, to be picked up when I visit in February. My SA texted me yesterday that my orders were in. Though she wasn’t able to get me the white Speedy, but I was never charged for it

I pre-ordered 6 pieces in Dec, SA came back few days later saying 1 item isn't available in UK and only this piece got cancelled. Pickup all 5 pieces in store today. BUT the problem I have is that in other countries, they give clients the token for the upcoming capsule machine 1 token per item purchase while they're only giving 1 token for 1 purchase in UK, they don't have the ribbon nor stickers as well, this is ridiculous. Moreover, the popup store is only opening in London on 9 Jan, later than the launch date?! Showing the norm of delays in the UK, such a big joke!

I ordered the Speedy 30 in black and have been told that the store is still waiting on the Speedy 30s. My initial ETA was 1/1/2025. Wondering if you are waiting on the same bag. Did something go wrong with the production of the bag and that is why they don’t have a definite ETA?

I was surprised to not find the key cles on the Australian site. I was able to get one piece that I couldn’t get in Canada on the Australian site that my daughter will ship to me.
💯‼🙌🏻My design clients are ALL so thankful they have the vintage LV murakami pieces as they said, when the collection was exquisite, luxurious and classic…..one of them told me she will hunt down all of the vintage pieces as the new collection ones are in no comparison to them.

it's interesting because a while back people were saying it would be a flop/not sell much and now they have sold way more than what they can offer. very interested to see what it ends up with. i personally don't think anyone should pay for a bag ahead of time. I'm fine with you auto-charging me when the bag arrives, however before no thank you. because now my money is stuck there and if I don't get the bag it'll be even longer before I get a refund.

I went in to the store here in Denmark. I was looking for a Murakami card holder which they did not have in stock which was weird because I went on launch date. I was one of the first people there, instead they offered me another card holder and told me I could buy any item I want from the sales rep. Which I thought was nice, this was done with a full deposit. I ended up just buying the notebook which was avaliable in store 😂

In my always cynical mind think this Murakami fiasco was carefully planned by LVMH. On October 15, 2024 LVMH released its results for Q3 2024. Sales of the group dropped 4.4% to 19.08 billion EUR (20.71 billion USD), missing the forecast set by analysts at Alpha Vision at 20.01 billion EUR (21.73 billion USD). How much did they collect in revenue from pre-orders of this Murakami collection? Wonder if they made up the shortfall of 930 million EUR (1.02 billion USD) between actual sales and forecast sales of Q3 2024? Would certainly make Q4 2024 look a lot rosier.

I know there was never a 100% guarantee but I did begin to hope that by pre-ordering and paying in full I would get my piece! As you know it’s a bit up in the air as to whether I will now. I really think LV should take a partial deposit rather than full payment if it is not a dead cert! A pre-order, I thought, tells LV what the demand is, so they should have known by now whether they could meet it. I feel sorry for all the SAs who are just doing their job but who will receive the brunt of clients’ disappointment x

I got in line early in the morning. Most pieces were leftovers from other buyers who had preordered but decided not to keep the item. I spoke with multiple CA’s and they were willing to start a preorder which I kindly REFUSED to place. I purchased the Speedy 20 in mirror collection in October but didn’t receive it until mid December!😳
I managed to find the side trunk at a local LV store and ordered the shoes online. I refuse to Preoder and let my money sit. I still want the speedy 25 but I’m turned off by all the Preoder drama.

The app didnt update until mid day and 5mins later nothings left. You have to book an appointment when searching for store stock. Cynical me is saying they have the stock in plenty. That would have been mass producing for about 6-9 months for a drop like this. Nice to see George in the video. Have fun up town and enjoy your new purchases x
Also, app and website is stating clearly 1 Unit per customer. They are being strict on that side.

I stay in Michigan and was at the mall way before opening to secure the ties I wanted - 10 minutes before the store opened we saw the workers going around and taking down majority of the items that they had on they display from the collection and replacing them with items not from the collab. Once we got inside there weren't that many options left available bag wise but luckily I was just going for some the black and white bandeau and was able to place an order in store for the brown bandeau which at 2pm EST did go through. I know we never get too much in Michigan anyway as we only JUST got an Hermes store but hopefully that changes and with th next drops we'll get more items in store!

Nope - think it’s a massive hype tactic. Which person has actually lost out? I’m not a VIP or order loads so they wouldn’t let me pre order but managed to order 3 items online, I have been told all OK. Looks to me like tactical scarcity rumours.
I’m not sure how they underestimated the demand for this because people were going crazy just at the rumor of this. I’m sure they will adjust production levels and things will be available eventually. It doesn’t really benefit them to stop production knowing how in demand it is. Business 101
is supply and demand. I don’t see this being sold out forever. Especially in this economy if you have something so wanted you do what you can to get it out and sold. I understand the disappointment from clients. If you put out thousands of dollars up front you have an expectation…”guarantee” or not.
Yes it’s the initial demand that’s crazy. They will keep producing and then there will be items available.
If the pre-orders were done in December, there is no way that production is done - according to the pre-orders - until beginning of January. Meaning: I'm pretty sure that they had their first drop already produced end of last year. So it's pretty normal, that the stock is not matching the pre-orders. Just my 2 cents

I have no way of knowing what stock levels actually were, so I can't comment on that, but I will say that the communication around this launch has been atrocious. I only managed to get an order in because I was refreshing the website constantly because my online CA has been so uncommunicative, and if I had waited for the email notification I signed up for to go out, I would have missed out completely.

I went to see my SA on 8th December (I’m in California) and I paid in full. When we were messaging before then, I was telling her which ones I am interested in. She advised me to focus on one item and put a deposit (basically, pay in full) to have a better chance of getting an item. I paid for the Alma BB (my #1 choice) and this morning (1/3/25) I received a text from her that my Alma BB is in the store! 🥳 I am going to pick it up on Sunday and I already told her which item in the noir collection I want to order next. 🥰 I do hope that everyone who paid in full will get their items.🤞🏼

I found a murakami Louis Vuitton jewelry box, numbered and in pristine condition. Paid $5 bucks. I find the same thing on sale for over $20K

They have overstretched because the sales over the three months has been bad on the general product. I do think they are overstocked or under stocked. So what has happened is that they have taken more orders than what they can produce. They are desperate for sales, to many orders. The other issue is the tariffs that will be introduced from end of January. So with production, if that happens, it’s not going to be worthwhile to make anything until the price has been changed. I do hope that people get a refund. It’s not really worth it. We need to get crafts people to do bags.

Saw several IG influencers do unboxings yesterday of their gifted bags and really disappointed as I could only preorder, just a few days ago, my SA let me get what wasn't sold in their shore, 5 small items(bandos, card holder, wallet, sandals) and no bags. They didn't need to gift bags especially when good customers ready to buy can't get a bag.

I am from Germany and had no problem to order the item I wanted from the online store this morning.
The same for me. However, the order is still in waiting for validation stage so I hope they won't cancel it. What is also weird is that I only got confirmation email from Paypal and nothing from LV until now (and I ordered 8 hours ago).

Took me a while to get a piece from a few drops that were "iconic" lk up to 5 weeks after I placed my pre- order. I'm late @ even looking it over I'm still trying to enjoy what I have & make room for more exploration. I'd really not planned on participating I'm aware LV is pulling out all the stops due to an anticipated slump in retail. Happy for the re-release but the versions I love are the pre - loved broken in versions that are not meant to just be pretty but to be used so as to use them every day is appropriate. I'm still on the fence but looking some pieces are beautiful some not so much. But there are pieces reported to b sold out such as the short wallet & long wallet & pochette available as I speak online in the USA. Can't wait to see what's going on & what you get.

It’s my understanding that France has outlawed the destruction of excess luxury stock so luxury companies are under producing for the orders because they are expecting some presale orders to be cancelled or returned. They don’t want leftovers and it seems they don’t care who they anger. Of course their VIP will get their orders fulfilled.

Seriously? If you as a company are not sure you can deliver, then it is not a good idea to take 100% payment with the order. As a customer, I would assume that I will get the product I have ordered when I have paid for it. Otherwise, it is to lift their sales a little in 2024, since their share prices are not doing so well. Most are measured on turnover until the end of the year

I don't believe it is really sold out. They're playing games. This is the first drop and then we have the blossom collection and the cherry collection coming. This is a set up to get people to buy, buy, buy for fear of missing out on the next collections.

I think these rumours are unfounded but happy I didn’t pre-order and took my chances on the day. Logged on here in Australia at the time it went live online and things started to change bit by bit from ‘Notify Me’ to ‘Add to cart’. I bought the couple of things I wanted but it did say one will ship in 6 days, the other in 10 weeks 😂. Several hours later I popped back online to see what was available and almost every bag other than the Speedy Nano was available still.
Yep, I noticed that. Your site worked as it should. You had a notice stating the go live time, we in Canada did not. I have been unable to purchase any of the four items I wanted and I’ve been refreshing like a mad person. Nothing is available. I’m not sure if anyone in Canada was able to order online today. Phone and online chat are both down. It’s a mess; just chaotic. Oh and the purchase page still states coming soon. Sorry, I lied I did find three products for sale a 16k suitcase and two 1k ish dog collars. J.

Doesn’t surprise me…this happened to me 20 yrs ago when the collection first came out. My item was given to another customer after contacting me for pick up. I cancelled and didn’t shop LV for several yrs.

I didn't go for this collection. I would probably like a smaller piece as its so iconic though but it's obviously not worth it based on this gossip. I can't imagine paying thousands for this apparent chaos. that's not luxury. I don't think I would buy from a brand again if they took full amount in a preorder and didn't provide my item tbh. luxury is based on experience as well as the item itself for me though. I would be very unimpressed. I'm still at the point when I have to think carefully over my purchases as I can't afford to get everything I want though maybe thats why I have this opinion!

I've heard the exact opposite, but that they will hold back fulfilling the orders for a few weeks to create FOMO for the line. It's stupid and disrespectful for people who have already paid good money for their items.

My hot take is that LV has chosen intentional incompetence with the launch and my second hot take is that they probably have secret manufacturing problems that haven’t been fully worked out to get the quantity up to where they would like it to be. Just a guess.

I feel like the collection is too expensive for things that aren’t necessarily “new”. I really wanted the pochette but I can’t justify paying $2100 when the traditional monogram print is $1500 and before then it was $1200🤦🏽♀️. The multicolor pochette originally released at a sale point of about $450…. It’s insane 😂
