  • Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! This time we take a look at the darker side of the Internet again as we fire up the relays and witness the journals of those who prepare for anything and everything and the haunting pages of an organization where the leaders have all "physically ascended". Thanks for watching!

    I can't believe he really hadn't heard about Love Has Won before making the video. It was a big news story when the cult got busted with the mummy a couple years back. There are loads of documentaries about them on UA-cam. Honestly the stuff he covers here only scratches the surface of the abyss of crazy. I almost choked when he kept saying 'Poor girl'... she was a total psycho.

    Legitimately surprised Muta hadn't gone down the Love Has Won rabbit hole before. It was a huge story and many youtubers from multiple corners were making videos about that cult even before her death. Then once she kicked the bucket (her own damn fault) and her mummy was found, tons more picked it up because of how weird it got. Which was a high bar because it was already really weird. When I say it was a big story, I don't just mean on youtube. Newspapers, magazines, television... Dr. Phil covered it FFS and there is an HBO documentary.
    Honestly, don't feel too bad for how she was found. She was an abusive alcoholic POS and a complete fraud. It's infuriating how her followers were worshipping her stinky corpse and still try to spread their BS message today.

    Doomsday prepping is a good way to learn about your own consumption. I prep for if there was a nuclear blast because I live in OC, I don't actually experience any paranoia myself but when I saw preppers doing it it honestly just looked interesting to me. The people in my building don't know this but I have enough rice in my closet to feed the whole building for months assuming we have access to some kinda water.

      I do prep because i live in a rural european alpine area and i'm too lazy to constantly drive around. And also because the people i live with and myself are immigrants and we like to stockpile our imported foods, because it is expensive. As business owners we also have a license for wholesale outlets to get discount. In our garden we grow exotic vegetables and chicken. We could be too lazy for grocery shopping for a year. Our house, a semi-commercial building has a large basement.
      My wife came up with this strategy. She has grown up in the northern Baikal area which is very remote, so people are stockpiling everything.
      If some societal collapse breaks out, i may rather adapt to a nomadic lifestyle. Staying stationary is dangerous, people may attack and loot my stockpiles.

    • @cookingwithsilence
      @cookingwithsilence 6 місяців тому +9

      @@hyperturbotechnomike Yeah, so when I got out of rehab I linked up with a family from Korea and my landlady is the one who showed me this stuff. For me, learning about the basics after years of surviving off of luck, booze and swing shifts it's a huge help! I lived as a nomad for 7 or 8 years in the States and I think you are right about post-doomsday, but for me I'm more worried about something like the California fires affecting our GDP and import and the price of food skyrocketing temporarily, or maybe a blast, something where 3 months would make all the difference. The garden here is fantastic but to be honest our language barrier has made it difficult fo me to learn to tend to some of the more exotic imported trees. Amazing mulberries.

      If stored properly rice can be good for decades.

He said in a live stream at one point the reason these are so rare now is because the deep web is mainly used for illegal materials (guess) nowadays. interesting sites still pop up on occasion, but it's nowhere near as plentiful as it used to be. I've been too Crestone, Colorado before. Seriously the strangest place I've ever been in the US, and I've been to 44 states.
    Edit: To elaborate a bit, Crestone is basically full of cults or near cult sects of various religions. They (meaning virtually everyone who lives there) believe that the town is at some crossing of major mystical ley lines or some such. When i was there, there was literally nothing there, no grocery store, no gas station, or really anywhere to buy any necessities. The whole town is just shrines, temples, churches and what have you and the homes of the "true believers" of whatever religion they believe in. Seriously strange place.

    • @Tomoose736
      @Tomoose736 6 місяців тому +3

      @@rottencrouton no, it's on the edge of the San Luis Valley Ave the Sangria de Cristo mountain range. So it's flat all the way to the edge of town, then the actual town is kind of in a foothills area. There's a few dirt roads and if you drive up any of them there will be all these little religious buildings from various sects. Mostly hippie-new age types live there. Nice people as far as I saw, but definitely a little weird. It's not a "cult-town" in the sense that a cult controls the town, it's a cult-town in the sense that it's a town full of cults. I guess you would say it's rural? The nearest sizeable town is about an hour away. It's more like someone constructed a housing development in the middle of nowhere. Houses are pretty decent size honestly, but it's the poorest region of Colorado, so probably not all that expensive for a good sized house. That said, definitely more affluent than the surrounding areas.

    • @Tomoose736
      @Tomoose736 6 місяців тому +4

      @@Josh-cf7xf if you're in the area, maybe stop by. The only thing nearby is Sand Dunes, that's why I was there. My wife and I and the in-laws were on a trip to the Dunes and Crestone is about as far from Sand dunes as Alamosa. Camping is hard to get at Sand Dunes and we wanted to stay somewhere kind of off the beaten path. Crestone looks a lot closer than Alamosa, but there's no straight path to the park, you have to go all the way back out to 17 to get to the Dunes along mostly dirt roads. Anyways, our Air BnB was in Crestone and we had no idea what the town was before we got there. There's also a UFO watch tower on route 17 between Crestone and Sand Dunes, the whole area is just kind of strange. When Muta read about the enshrined body in the sleeping bag wrapped in Christmas lights, my first thought was "yeah, that sounds about right for Crestone." It's not a place I'd go as a destination, but if you're going to see Sand Dunes it's worth a stop off if you're into that kind of stuff. I think there's also a hot springs at the junction of 17 and the road to Crestone, so there's stuff to do around there, just not so much in the town itself. I was living in Denver at the time, which is also about a 4 hour drive, and this trip was about a decade ago. I've been back to Sand Dunes twice, but not Crestone. Not that it's scary or anything, just kind of boring. It's fun for a few hours, but once you've driven around and seen all the oddities there's not much reason to stick around. So sure, maybe stop off and see it if you're in the area for some other reason, but I wouldn't make it a destination. People are nice in that hippie-peace-and-love cult kind of way and I'd be surprised if weird stuff WASN'T going on there, but probably behind closed doors. We certainly didn't see any weird rituals or anything like that, but I'd imagine that type of stuff happens if you go on the right day. Maybe solstices or equinoxes or something? I'm sure you could research the different religions there and figure out a good time to go to maximize weirdness. Hope that helps, let me know if you have other questions.
