We ordered the same trees! We sold the farm before we could enjoy any fruits! We had apple, peach, and cherry. Also had an almond but that didn't do to well and died. Also had a little vineyard going as well. I miss SC and the land, but good to be in the home state. Keep kickin ass man and creating content!
Came to watch what teamwork with caring friends can create such memorable times. For the millionth time wish i was there helping enjoying time with you and your friends
Justin - just an fyi, if you're new to tree planting... Always check the zone rating for the trees you're planting. I've communicated to you that I'm in Vermont also. I'm in growing zone 4, and you're north of me. The chestnuts may not make it. The cherries will likely not make it. Delicious apples will be iffy. I would buy from another nursery. Starks is expensive for what u get. There is a good nursery just over across the line in new York; st. Lawrence Nursery... They have a web site. They sell region hardy trees, I buy from them, amongst other nurseries. Good luck. Put guards on your fruit trees, especially apples.
I got most of these trees for 15-20$ a piece and made sure they are suited for my zone! I did my research. They are all growing good thankfully! I appreciate your insights and watching this from one Vermonter to another!
Great to see you setting up your permaculture food forest. Just remember that you really need to make chicken wire cages for your young trees when the snow comes. Take it from me as I learned the hard way here in Finland. I had a Hare munch his/her way through my new orchard killing every tree. I cried so much at the loss of my trees. After a few years they will be ok. Just cover them for the first few years at least.
My sympathies on the loss of your trees. My mother had the same happen to her fruit trees. She had deer fencing around the orchard and not much individual protection. Still....the hare made good eating!
Was all of that your property when you were riding in side by sides? If so that’s amazing. Good luck on your tree planting. I call that “survival food”. Congrats on your beautiful land!!!
Hope you didn’t bury your trees too deep. Couldn’t tell from the pics. Trees should be planted no deeper than they were originally grown. In fact plant the crown (ground level on tree) should be a little high as the ground will settle them.
I can see you enjoying the 🍒 fruits 🍎 of your labour in no time!! You’ve really come a long way! Congratulations!! Lots of pets and belly rubs for King 👑🐈 Chester and darling 🐈⬛ Ernie. 🥰♥️🧡👑🐈🧡♥️🩶🐈⬛🩶♥️♥️
It'll be great when those trees start growing and producing fruit.
Gosh I can’t wait!

Remember to protect your trees from the deers so they don't eat your leaves all off the trees! Put some kind of fence around them!
I did! You will see I a few episodes! They are growing great
@JustinJenny That's good to hear! I have a cat called Alex that looks just like Chester!
Tell Alex that Chester, Ernie and I say hi! Thanks for being here
Good times.
It will be fun to look back on all of this someday! Thanks for watching

Wow, such cool trails just off your property. Great Location.

No! That would be awesome but I’m thankful there’s a big trail network in my area. Plenty of places to explore
Put your ash from your fire pit around the trees 😊
And some 🐔💩.

They are all growing good months later!
The deer will eat those trees... remember I told you..
They are fenced in now, they are doing good
