Nice one Darren, well put together, obviously not lost the knack during your time out. It was very enjoyable being out there with you. And a great pitch as well, though it was a fair old stroll to get to it. I'll not forget the cheese & biscuits next time! ATB, Roger
I walked the path from Chepstow to hay last summer. I remember this day across the black mountains and then dropping down to Hay. Took ages to get down to Hay.
That looked like a great camp, mate, some excellent views from there. That was a great idea for both of you to camp right on the border. I hiked up from Llanthony just recently, but headed the opposite direction towards Hatterall Hill. Watching this has made me want to get up the Bluff for a night out. I'm going to watch Roger's video now. Thanks for sharing!
Stunning 360 views up there,I’ve done that track from the skirrid up over & down to hay on my motorbike a few times now, never fails to wow me,always said I’d like to camp up here,so that’s one still on the list, great to see you out again, keep the channel going 👏🏴✊KTF.
Thanks for the vid, Ive subbed to Roger's channel. Great camp, dont leave it as long next time! (Im sure you dont need telling that!) Love the Helm 1 - do you find it big enough? That monolith is wierd! Rattling in your bag, same with squeaks is just so annoying. I pop a bit of sponge in and I would say its essential next to your gas canister as any moisture makes it rusty which rubs off on your pots. Not teaching you to suck eggs, but thought Id mention it! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks. The storage space makes a massive difference in keeping your gear out of the way and giving you room for everything. I’m struggling to find a tent that I would want that could beat it! Normally I wrap my canister in my cleaning cloth but had to use it to wrap my stove in on this one. Apparently the rangers are planning to remove the monolith soon so I’m glad I got the chance to see it! I’m already planning my next trip so definitely not going to be as long this time!! 👍🏻
There’s a fella called dusty,or summing like tha sells cider from his little small holding on the road down to hay if you ever visit again grab some rough from him. No head aches either.

You should request cheese & biscuits and mini wine! That's what we had (only bragging, we didn't have the same decent weather as you) :)

It was a fantastic spot, I didn’t know what to expect but it wasn’t that! Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy Rogers version of events 👍🏻
Wicked Vid mate! Oh and it's 100% "Liddle" rather than "Ly-dl"
Nice to see you out pal and hope everything is going ok.
Thank you. Nearly all back to normal so hopefully not as long until I’m out again 🤞🏻🤞🏻
