Man I wish this was official. The Sonic franchise easily needs a second or third rep in smash.
Adding sonic was kinda nintendos favourite to sega. Not sure they're gon amend that out again

Shadow would make the most sense as an echo for Sonic. His up-special could be Chaos Dash and his Final Smash be Chaos Blast
Man, Nintendo and Sega need to agree to add a few more characters from Sonic The Hedgehog. And by the way, are his voice clips taken from the following games: Sonic Free Riders, Sonic Generations, Mario and Sonic At the Olympics Games (2012-2016), literally any game that he is voiced by Travis Willingham.
Dave B. Mitchell's Knuckles is growing on me, but Travis Willingham will always be my favorite Knuckles VA.

Like Alucard, Knuckles almost made the cut. You can tell by how complex the assist trophies are. Zero and Rodin are other good examples.
Also, tip for Norfair. When the magma wave is coming, but you can't get in the safety capsule. Jump as high as you can to go above the wave

Sonic’s moveset in knuckles works so well.
Some of the animation in Knux's move should be modified to fit the character more, like his up-smash, down air, up-air, forward tilt. He leans more into punching, but doesn't kick often. Otherwise, this is semi-solid.
That there wasn't a mod that included the Knuckles moveset from Project M ex remix??

I really feel like shadow would be better for this. He controls exactly like sonic in most games he's in!
He just needs his boxing combo 🥊 and his glide move.
Knuckles needs his own set, he cant be an echo.
Knuckles would likley be op.
Probably as fast as fox, hits like bowser, glide, and the only charscter with an ability to climb back onto stage from any point.
Tails would probably be as fast as fox also, can fly, and have more technical attacks like ness thunder and flash, with megaman-like range attacks.
If you ever played super smash flash, youd know why tails is op if they translate his set, and if you ever used the silver the hedgehog assist trophy, youd know why hed be op.
To put it simple, sonic alone is op and hes ones of the best characters to use, adding stronger sonic-like characters would be like adding the goku and vegeta.
I think it's safe to say that Knuckles (and Shadow) should've been fighters instead of assist trophies, I think Shadow would be the strongest sonic fighter in the smash tier list, because he has a chaos emerald to use chaos control (as seen when you use him as an assist trophy) while Knuckles' hits can reduce more damage like any other tough smash character (Examples: Bowser, Ganondorf, Captain Falcon, Donkey Kong, Kazuya, etc.) because we the people would wish Nintendo and Sega would agree in adding Knuckles, and Shadow as fighters, and put Tails and Robotnik as assist trophies (my POV) and probably putting an Amy costume for a Mii Swordfighter, rouge costume for a Mii brawler, and maybe an omega costume for a Mii Gunner (just some random details that came out of my brain). it would definitely make sense for both Shadow and Knuckles to be fighters cuz it would work. so yeah, cool mod, love the style and gameplay, hopefully to see a shadow mod someday.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it should be as big as Mario's, but I think 3-4 reps would be fair.

You use gamebanana on your switch to download knuckles as echo fighter. What about Waluigi. Blood falcon. Silver the hedgehog. Dry bowser?
I think shadow would make a better echo fighter, knuckles would make a stellar new character tho. Of course, Shadow would too, but if it had to come down to anyone to be Sonic’s echo fighter. Metal would also be a good contender
But when was the last time metal ever used the homing attack or spin dash as part of his natural abilities? Metal Sonic has been seen with his own moves so no he can't be an echo of sonic. Shadow at the very least has used the spin dash and homing attack naturally since 2001.

2. I’m not saying that metal wouldn’t be a good fighter all on his own, I’m just saying that if Sonic’s only option were to have an echo fighter, either shadow or metal would be good contenders for the position
3. Knuckles’s assist trophy used the homing attack but he only got that recently in frontiers and dream team. I’m pretty much every playable appearance before that he didn’t have the homing attack, so natural abilities aren’t always reflected in smash. Sonic also can’t spawn springs in any of his games, so

No way I don’t want knuckles to just be the echo I want him to be a real fighter and I want shadow to be dlc, besides this just doesn’t make any sense for this monotreme, I want him to have different attacks but copied from some characters but with a different animation and some similar way
Knuckles as an echo fighter of sonic doesn't work at all. Knuckles doesn't use the homing attack as his natural ability (and no rivals and heroes doesn't count) and some of his animations being copied from sonic is also not natural either. I know the assist trophy from ultimate has all of this but come on, brawl's project M/+ at least gave knux unique animations with the moves he has.
