Haha I was so excited when I saw this come up on my phone - it's like an addicting TV series! This has really revamped my interest in Pen and Paper adventuring... I brought Scarlet Heroes, and Fobbiden Lands, just because of this. Just need the kids to grow another few years and then I'll have time to play these things instead of just buying them.
You could speed things up a bit by having the hungry mother role to d20's of one color and a third of a different color all at once. the two same colored ones would be her claw attacks and the odd one that would be of course her bite.
I'm almost done with Legends of Andor and together with the standees of Gloomhaven I'll have enough characters for a decent DIY adventure game (having Folklore for locations as well as some old Mansions of Madness 1e cards for events) I just wonder what simple skill system I could use for combat and investigation and what thematic source to generate story elements? Not having Scarlet Heroes or any of the other books, I'm wondering what board game sources or free to download online sources I can use for that.
Great stuff! Really fun watch and listen. Was wondering if these two rule sets would be adaptable to the old d&d basic modules? Thank You for the entertainment.
Hi .. Great video ... Can you tell me a bit about the resources you are using i.e. where did you get the character cutout? The Boards etc? Might be worth listing them in the video description area .. it would be really useful to know... Thanks and keep up the great videos!
Dunno about you, but since trying to solo rpg, have found myself just wanting to play something more conventionally fun, like Gloom of kilforth! May be I just burnt out on trying to come up with scenarios in my head 🤯
I've not read Scarlet Heroes yet, but it seems like the main reason combat is so linear is due to the lack of an action economy, I feel like there needs to be a free action you can do in addition to attacking to make it interesting, to do more creative stuff like traps, throwing smoke bombs, trying to save the kids, etc.. and for your enemy too, especially for a boss like the hungry mother. Maybe this is something you can do in this system idk
You can. You can do anything. The reason combat is so fast is because of how hit dice, damage and the fray dice work. Maybe read it before making assumptions. :D. I just didn’t those things on camera because thinking fast on camera is hella hard.
The combat is one of the reasons I really enjoy Ironsworn’s system. Very entertaining story line. Thank you

Ah, is this the end of road? I need more haha! Thanks for all your videos!
I’ve got something new for solo RPGs coming this weekend, and will definitely be doing more this year.
@@TheDungeonDive oh man, I can't wait! Thanks!

Scarlet Heroes is made for easily adapting any old school D&D module. There is a chapter on conversion.
@@TheDungeonDive Thank You. Much appreciated.

Everything I use is mentioned throughout the series in the playlist.
I enjoyed this series of videos.
Glad you like them!
