I'm so glad you brought up the issue of being an honest seller. I just received my Depop package from a seller today and it was basically wholesale clothes that were purchased in China and just retagged by the seller herself claiming they were "Boutique" tags. I was so upset and can't believe some people would do this.
I'm pretty sure that first white dress (the cheap fabric one) is a $4 dress from China warehouse - and the seller has been dishonest and said it was unlabeled and marked it up.
I think all these sellers she bought from (except the white shorts) has been dishonest in some way - the club monaco piece was marked - and it was immediately visible at a distance on camera, the ted baker piece was sold and THEN the seller told her it was marked.... plus the piece came smelling damp, the ralph lauren piece has obviously been poorly treated and the fabric is in poor quality.
The white dress is a cheap piece from AliExpress/China warehouse and is worth only a couple of dollars - the person hasn't worn it because they j ust resell cheap crap they get from China... and it's clearly poor quality, the fabric sounds horrible when it moves - the seller has been dishonest in selling it at 25 pounds and say its unlabeled.
The Marc Jacobs piece was marked which wasn't disclosed.
I dont think I'm going to go for Depop - too many people are dishonest and don't price their pieces appropriately.

I really love how positive you stayed in this video. You gave great advice for depop sellers and even if you were a bit disappointed when you opened your parcels or while shopping on depop, you kept everything in a positive light and had lovely things to say about each piece you bought. This has made me NOT want to use Depop. I feel like most of these are just disappointing. The marks were immediately noticable on that Club Monaco piece, and as soon as that first white dress came out of the bag - you could see and hear how cheap the fabric is. I'm pretty sure it's a cheap piece for a couple of dollars from China -and the Seller has been dishonest and said it was unlabeled.
The white shorts were great. But other then that... seems the sellers were quite dishonest.

Hey freddy, the poppers are usually used to be held in place on your bra (depending on how it is), my dresses have them, especially those that are looser fitting in the sleeve area so that the sleeve stays connected to your bra strap and it doesn't fall out and look unsightly.

I really hate it when I buy something and there is a perfume smell on it. I don't like most perfumes and sometimes I can't get the smell out in the washing machine. Then I can throw it away :(
Oh no! If you dislike it then maybe let the seller know before you purchase it! I personally love the smell as it means I don't have to waste any nice perfume as I already smell nice! 😂

The “poppers” (sorry if I didnt get the word right) you say the top has in the min. 13 might be so you can attacht the top straps to your bra straps to cover them 💕
Freddy - have you ever though of dyeing some of those items with natural dyes? I have seen videos of using a dye made from avocado skins, which make the items a glorious pink!! The dyes could hide some of the imperfections, after you clean them, of course.

Your comments about how people go about selling things are all true and exactly what everyone is thinking and anyone who has one of those stores should be thanking you as you are giving them helpful true advice! I love that about you, not afraid to say "negative" or whatever comments about things when its true but give credit where due.... anything you have recommended has always been good!

The poppers on the Ralph Lauren sweater are for your bra straps! You clip them in and then they don’t show or slide down your shoulder. I have a few tank dresses with them and they are a lifesaver!

I think it would’ve been worth it for the quality of the video to film a section of the video when you first received the items and then waited until the clothes were cleaned and repaired to film a second section of you trying them on, combine the two sections into one video and have it go up a few weeks later than when you initially received the items.
It’s kind of like when you were speaking about the effort one would put into properly photographing and washing clothes you’re selling on depop. It’s extra time and effort but it increases the quality of the product. Hope you’re having a good week.

I'm wanting to branch out to sell clothes of my own on depop and I like what you said about how there's an element of branding to your packaging. Where would you recommend getting packaging? I think it's a good note to have the clothes as pristine as I can get them and even spritz my cologne on them. I try to brand my instagram in yellows, golds, neutrals so I want that to even be in the selling on clothes because my style is what people come to my instagram for and I want even sold clothes to feel that way.

Poppers are on a lot of vintage dresses and tops from the 40s & 50s. They would clip their bra & shapeware inside them to prevent any slipping or visibility or their undergarments.
I collect vintage clothing as well as hand make/reproduce many silhouettes & details that vintage clothes use that are not really used anymore.
I also only just found this video and your channel. I love your style and love the fact that you want to help prevent fashion waste and help sustainability.
I make the majority or my clothes & accessories. Or I only purchase clothing with natural fibers from clothing shops that a have similar style as I do. Clothing that I really cannot make with my sewing machine, I will either purchase from Etsy or other vintage/second hand websites or I will go out to charity shops to look for that item.
I've found it very important to know my way around a sewing machine, as I do fluctuate in weight because of the medications I require for my chronic pain illness and other illnesses I suffer from. Plus I have a very hourglass silhouette (my bust and hips are a size 12-14 & my waist fits into a 10, nearly an 8). So being able to alter my clothes that I don't make is money saving for me and if there are any little details I don't like or I want to add (live lace or appliques etc.) I easily can.
Plus at Christmas I was up to a size 18-20 but I have so many nice clothes, so I can alter them myself.
Suffering from Fibromyalgia Syndrome also prevents me from wearing certain clothes especially jeans or items that are too tight. All my skirts I make have elastic in the waistband for comfort & extra 50s hourglass look and I only wear clothes that aren't too restrictive... even a bra can hurt and I can only wear comfortably one Australian brsbd of bra for a few hours.

i really love you making this video bcs i got a lot of criticism because i bought (branded) things that are second hand. i used to fall on a trap of buying everything branded. i almost got broke of that habit. then i try to look on alternative like this, buying second hand clothing and it literally changed my life & financial. i recently bought a authentic used levis jeans jacket which actually cost more than RM200 ($50) but i got it for only RM 15 ($7). im very happy of my purchase.
tips on how to buy second hand things online :
1. ask for more pictures and ask for specific pics like the pockets and buttons. some sellers do get annoyed and it indicates on the quality of it. if they are selling things that doesnt have defects on it, they wouldnt be annoyed to show it to their future customer.
2. look at reviews. seems really straightforward.
3. ask them more questions such as where you bought them, why are you selling them and stuff. you will be surprised on the info you get.
4. ask if you can refund it if youre not happy with your purchase. it will help you im promise!

I'm new to your channel and its super cool. I'm also new to depop and my style is a retro, but one of the problems I'm having is that I don't know how much to sell for. Like ive got a butterfly dress with a lace up back and is ombred. The colours are sunset, so theres a lot of work in it, but I always have trouble with pricing.
