- ⚠️UPDATE ON THE RAM⚠️
Jamie Davis towing attempted to recover it but the snowfall that night was too much for their trucks.
A few days later BC started getting hammered by atmospheric rivers (insane amounts of heavy rain). We lost all highways heading out of the Lower Mainland including all the FSR you saw us travel on in this video.
Due to this there were no more roads leading to where the Ram was. My brothers insurance company decided to just write off the truck and bought him a new 2019 Ram 1500 a few weeks later.
So all in all it worked out for the best.

How'd he get insurance to pay while he was offroading? And wasn't the RAM going to be recoverable once the weather improved during summer?
Insurance covers you off road. It covers use of the vehicle, doesn’t really matter what you are doing with it. Any vehicle sitting on a mountain side for all of winter you wouldn’t want back due to the exposure to the elements for that long. His insurance has a policy if they cannot locate or recover a vehicle within 30days they write it off and replace it at value
@@DrivenHard ok thank you for the reply!!
Hi there, just catching up with these videos after being a new subscriber. I must say I am surprised your brother went for another Dodge ram, after seeing the capabilities of the LR products.
Hahaha even his wife questioned his decision 😂
Beautiful scenery, great visual's and drama! I also really enjoy your narration........ And really surprised how well the basic Sport did!
Same man. Impressive as hell!!
I was on a North Georgia/North Carolina trip that started out beautiful and ended in a "S-Show" too... Little DA brother rode his Chevy down a ravine and rolled it twice 5 minutes after hitting the snow right at the GA/NC line... We barely got to a hospital with a 3 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, ruptured spleen, and internal bleeding in time. I still go Off-Roading but he won't... If he should want to go again I drive my rig and he runs the CB radio and tunes, Hahaha!
My god! That’s nuts man. Ya definitely need to be prepared for the worst just in case!
Amazing content
Thanks bro!! Appreciate it
@@DrivenHard I would love to join you on one of these expeditions!! I have an Ml350 2015 diesel 4matic with winter tires
Hi emrika absolutle loved this video i understand danger involved nd safty was scetchy what tyre was the white discovery using nd what wat his views on there performance
Hey Lee, the disco was using Cooper M/T totes I believe. They performed well for the most part. Really good in the sand
@@DrivenHard chers yea watching video did see how they did well on the sand slope im becoming more pushed to the disco5 lately
What did you think?? Let me know in the comments!!!
Fellow Rover off-roader here! Great video, truly appreciate the transparency/authenticity. That was one CRAZY trip. Started perfectly with beautiful weather then the unexpected happened. Been in that situation myself where it goes from fun to sketchy but it definitely pays to keep your cool. Keep up the good work showing what Rovers are capable of in the dirt. If you’re ever wheeling in Cali, let me know. It would be interesting to see my L322 vs your RR Sport. Glad you guys made back safely, RIP Laramie, and keep driving hard!
Hey man, yes that would be awesome. What part of Cali are you from?? There are so many places I want to hit up over there. Appreciate the support on the channel!
@@DrivenHard I'm located in Southern California, LA area. Lots of good trails down here. DM me if you want and keep it up man!
Are you on IG?
@@DrivenHard yep. Add 14 to this username
Bro my respect to the rr sport with zero offroad assistance
It blew my mind how well it did!!!!
I thought all RRS had off-road assistance?
I woulda absolutely headed back given the change of weather, lack of cell service and loss of daylight (not to mention the “gateway to hell” hole 🕳). I think you guys should consider investing in some camping material⛺️ if you’re gonna do more extreme off roading videos…just incase. Camping out in a blizzard in the RRS could also make for some additionally exciting content.
Just went to kiss my 2016 RRS and renewed my vow never to Emeka her. 😂
Also how come the the guy in the white RRS had absolutely no issues? Was it just luck?
Keep up the good work bruv. Love your videos. 👊🏽
Hahahahahaha “Emeka her” that’s pure gold.
100% lesson learned on having more supplies for situations that can creep up like this. That’s already done and will be adding to it for sure.
Regarding the White RRS that just goes to show you what snow tires and Land Rovers basic 4WD system can do. Incredible!
When you see it in video it doesn't seem that impressive.. then I look out the window to our ford that could barely drive up someone's driveway
But the ram has better tires than yours how lost the ram
No the Ram has M/T I have actual snow tires. For these conditions snow tires were a better choice. Plus the truck is way to light on the back end for the climb even with 4WD hence why it kept getting stuck
Good work. I know that feeling of when you’re having fun, then it gets a bit tricky/scary and suddenly you’re not having fun anymore haha 😂
Haha exactly
@@DrivenHard I have a red l494 like yourself. Good to see you using it and enjoying it. Keep it up.
Ah that’s sweet man. Thanks for watching
It is crazy that the RRS without low range could get out of it! I got a 2020 RRS HST trim, which doesn't come with the low range option, making me feel sad for a while (Don't understand why JLR dealer didn't get the low range option, which was only around 850$CAD! So cheap). Great to see what RRS can do without low range and diff locks.
Why didn’t you just look for one with it? But yes low range helps a ton with technical stuff but even without it the RRS is absolutely incredible due to its TC programming. You will have fun with it for sure!
Thanks for sharing this. I could feel your anxiety through the screen 😕 crazy how a whiteout can completely change a day 😅🤦🏽♂️
Yup. Jumped on us out of nowhere
Curiosity did you have a shovel? Kinetic and recovery straps etc? Really you video...easy to say you should have done this and that when we're watching a video in front of the fire. Brilliant video.
Yes. We had a shovel I always have during winter time. We also had straps 2 sets. Thanks for watching man!! Appreciate the support
Down here in America in Jeep clubs, we have this... Leave no one behind, which also includes don't run off and race ahead. We also have a minimum of 2 winches in the crew as well.
It’s called being a decent human being. I guess some people just don’t understand this.
Aké tam máš pneumatiky A/T alebo zimné
RIP Ram!! lol gotta love how unpredictable BC is. trips almost NEVER go as expected.... See you out there buddy!
100% man. Thanks for all that you do in the off road community 🙌😎🇨🇦
Bring a Landrover defender
Haven’t been able to find anyone who has one area my area who don’t using them for mall crawling yet
I have the same 2017 Sport in the same spec. I occasionally take it off-road on hunting trips. Does well. Proud 😊 great content. Cheers from Australia 🤙🏻
OMG The montage at the end 😂😂😂😂😂 RIP Larimie
Hahaa yup it gave itself for the channel 🙌
I'm glad you actually use Landy's for what they are made for! People think the ads are fake, but I knew a guy who worked for Landy and said all the ads and stuff are 100% real.
It's amazing you are doing this in stock cars too. Yeah there are limits, but I can't imagine taking my mom's Rogue out there!
Jeep and Landy will always been a fun pair too. Love em both.
I would come prepared with camping gear, dry food and recovery gear.
Haha, dude, you guys are so crazy! Recovery gear, medial kit, snacks and water!!! Haha I died when you said “it’s not fun anymore”. That’s exactly what I said 75% into Hells Revenge in Moab…
Hahahaha. I think most people who have pushed their rigs the way we like to have experienced that moment in time on the trail hahaahahah. Made my day you took the time to watch the video, appreciate it man! 🙏🏾
Simply an insane episode! I know it was coming but WOW!
Hahaha glad I didn’t disappoint
Loving these videos! You guys should definitely should look into getting a Garmin InReach. It's a very affordable, and RELIABLE Satellite communicator, that comes with deeply discounted options for Search and Rescue Insurance. Doesn't matter where on the planet you are, you're always going to have reception as long as you have a view of the sky.
I've gotten myself into situations as bad as this and it was still fun knowing the SOS teams could communicate with me easily, and see exactly where I was stuck, which gave them info on the best way to save my unprepared self. You can also communicate with friends/family to let them know you're okay.
Hey Ali, yes I have heard of that one, its the one we are most likely going to get. Seems like a no brainer investment!! Thanks for your thoughts on it as well!
Great vid I would love to bring my range out I have the same as the white one I notice he has camera does he do vids also I wanna learn more about mine so I can get out and start learning when the weather gets nicer AGAIN THANKS I LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDS
Hey there. Ya man for sure get out there and see what it can do. Enjoy it to all its 4x4 greatness lol 😂
Looks like a good run for me
It was epic! And my brother got a new truck out of it!
Two things really impress me: capability of the unexperienced white RRS e the small number of follower of this great channel!!
Thanks bro!! Yes the white RRS kinda stole the show so to speak due to its effortlessly being able to keep up and Never missing a beat
Awesome! Reminds me of when I was off roading around Lake Powell. I got lost on the way back because it was too dark and got my wheels stuck into sand 🤣🤣! All the fun faded away!
Hahaha sounds about right man. Thanks for watching and keep pushing that thing
LOVE all the Land Rover content! I have a Range Rover Evoque but never even got close to off roading, I baby the crap out of that car. Nice to see other using them to their full potential tho! Keep up the good work 🤍👍
Thank you for the kind words man! 🙏🏾
Awesome day out! You guys will be telling that story in numerous bars and family gatherings for years to come.🤣
Shame there wasn't a happier ending, but at least you all made it home - eventually. 👍
Hahaha that is fact bro. Going to be talking about it for a while for sure. It all worked out in the end. Insurance bought him a new truck lol
That was awesome man. Channel is underrated needs more subs. I watched Jamie Davis here in the UK!
THANK YOU!!! Glad you enjoyed it man!!
In which mode are you
Snow mode for all snow parts
That was crazy, and VERY informative. My family has two LR3s, very lightly modded and a Gaptool with both on. I'm in the Okanagan, and the snow up here is champagne stuff...waaaay deeper than it looks. The more I find out about Rover abilities, the less I find they were built for snow and cold climates. We have the cold weather package on both, and the hvy duty package on one. They BOTH got stuck on my brother's property on NYE in a field. Had to use chains on one, and backhoe a path to get the other one out. I would not drive them in snow without chains in the back, a good shovel, traction boards, and as you found.....a winch! Glad you made it out safe, that was a really good judgement call, albeit a bit late. :->
Looking forward to more videos!
That’s so interesting. What type of tires were you running? M/S or actual winter tires?
@@DrivenHard I'm going on the tires that were on the vehicle when I bought it 6 months ago, Falken Wildpeaks, AT Trail.
The wife's has Duratracs on it.
Great video!
It was beyond fun filming and doing this! Thanks for checking it out
Happy Birthday
Aww thanks 🙏🏾
Do a video showing us all the damage from off reading
I’ve done one in the past. Can’t remember if it’s a short or a full video. But I’ll be doing a 100km review and I will for sure break down all off road damage in that
That was a whole lot of drama at the end, Emeka! Glad you weren't stuck there forever. Any news on getting the Dodge out?
Insurance wrote it off since all the roads we travelled that day have been washed away. So it’s either sitting there waiting for someone to find it or it’s at the bottom of the mountain. My brother got a much newer and better truck when it was all over and it didn’t cost him anything really. Lol 😂
@@DrivenHard Bloody he’ll! That’s a thing! They were all washed out in the recent floods? Thought your trip happened after all that drama. Ooof.
Tell me he’s bought a Landy!?
Haha our trip was about 1.5 weeks before those storms. The first week it was mountain snow that prevented the rescue of it. Then the rain storms came and boom. As soon as it was safe to head up there they found all the roads and a few bridges had been washed away.
He bought a 2019 Ram 1500. It’s way better then the last one.
@@DrivenHard Ahhhh! I see. That’s a shame; would have been a good time to push him to JLR! Lol
I’m sure the Dodge will work out for him. I had a brand new one, once. You’d have to push me really hard to go back in to a truck.
driving up snowy mountains. love it
Some of the best times in life involves mountains roads and snow ❄️ 😎
RIP Legend you will be missed
R.I.P
Drop the dooms day music!
Hahaha thanks man. Can’t wait to see what you guys think
your content is awesome. I went with a sport car instead of an RR sport, but videos like this make me wish I went the other way.
Lol what car did you get bro?!
@@DrivenHard 991.2 911 Carerra (one my dream cars) But I still REALLY want the RR sport HSE Dynamic, especially living in NYC with the harsh winters.. That V8, interior and overall aesthetic is just too clean. Hope they run the current model forever, because I do NOT like the new Range Rover's.....
Oh bro. Massive Porsche fan here. Dream car is the 911 Turbo S and I want to do the whole German delivery experience. One day my friend!!!
What spec did you get yours?
@@DrivenHard Same! Lol. I've got a base model, PDK in Sapphire Blue with RS wheels! Plenty of power, but wish I opted for the PSE. Might go aftermarket on an exhaust, but if cash permits it might be looking to go GT3 in the medium term.
The new GT3 that just came out had me rethinking everything. Absolutely blown away with what Porsche did with it 🤯
So the ram is no more?
Insurance wrote it off and my brother paid out due to the fact the roads had all washed away and there was no way to recovery it. He’s in a much newer and nicer truck now 😎
@@DrivenHard wow!
@@DrivenHard dude you didn’t do your job right!!!! Why isn’t he in a Defender???
Hahaha he loves his trucks 🤷🏾
Huge benis
💯💪🏾
