The best thing about this game is that any time you hear it from here on out you'll start crying nearly immediately. My favorite part is that the ending song is called "I was born for this" and that's literally how the game starts. You're born to take the Journey.
Despite it's short length, this is one of the best games ever made. And the term "walking simulator" is just a buzz term people like to throw around and isn't honestly a real thing. Over 80% of video games have walking. This is an explorative game.
Always good to see new wayfarers playing this game. I played it for the first time nearly two months ago and it quickly became one of my favorites. I’m glad you got such a good companion.
Journey is a game about being lost and scared in the desert with a complete stranger, then you climb a mountain with your new best friend, and at the top of the mountain, you realise you've fallen in love with someone you just met 2 hours ago. And sometimes, you only find out they were a real person after you finish the game. It's amazing what you can do with low poly graphics, internet access, one of the best composers in the world, a jump button, and a sing button.
This one always makes me leaky... Plus I love it when DD finds out it was a real person with her the whole time but to also have that person in your stream is just the cherry on top
1:44:00 even though you're told you'll perish and won't make it to the top, you still decide to go ahead and try. Because maybe you're different, or maybe you'll get lucky. That stubbornness is so deeply... Human. I played this game like 2 years ago and I'll never forget how at first I refused to accept my fate. But as the game continued, that end became inevitable. It was so humbling and beautiful. That part stuck with me
It's the strangest feeling of sheer joy and utter heart ache when leaving a companion. Meeting a soul without judgement of the age ,gender, race or creed and sharing this emotion is something beautiful. Jenova Chen gave something very special to a lot of us out there that have been touched by this experience:)
I played this when it was new in 2012. Think I played it over 10 times over the years. I can not erase the memory of this great Journey to experience it for the first again, that is why I have watched many people take this Journey and enjoyed watching their reactions. I have to say that your emotions and reactions are the some of the best and most beautiful I have seen so far! Instant Subscribe and follow on Twitch. A few game suggestions: Horizon Zero Dawn, and if possible Horizon 2 Forbidden West after that. World and story building in these games is some of the best I have ever seen. Long games though. Have you played the Cat game called: Stray? Basically Journey with a cat in a cyberpunk like setting, great story, takes about 6-8 hours depending on how much exploring you do. Another good and sad emotional game is: What Remains of Edith Finch. It does have some sensitive topics though but nothing to graphic. It's about 2.5 hours long on average. See you next time, this was great! ☺
Much love to Lisbeth Scott's hauntingly beautiful voice trying to capture the tones of Greek, Latin, Old English, Japanese, and French. Wintory has released a new version of _I Was Born for This,_ the aria that plays at the credits, with the LSO to celebrate the 10th anniversary with native speakers of the parts, with the exception of Latin and Old English, of course. I'll end that it is touching that when we, as humans, strip away the candour and pedantry, love is all we express to each other. Love wins in the end. Let love win you completely, wholly, and absolutely. EDIT: Latin has thwarted me again, it seems.
Amazing game, I hope you play it more in the future! It is so simple yet so beautiful and the music is perfectly choreographed. I have been watching many people play it for the first time it's just a fun to see and I love your playthrough. Glad you had an amazing journey and journey buddy!
1:29:59 This is an amazing game from a fellow traveler. You can fall by some combination of movements or keys. It's an amazing game. Especially when playing for the first time. Although new Trips with new partners bring something new
You should try Sky :Children of the light it’s a mobile originated game that’s the dream child of journey with similarities but also many differences that makes it a whole experience of its own and you would love it
If this has not been suggested to you yet, then I think the game Lost Ember would be something for you. :) Awesome playthrough and I played Journey a zillion times and from time to time I just made myself the task to guide travelers through everything. The end always makes me tear up. Greetings from Germany^__^ PS.: I picked up some german words there :D Was ist das?
I was lurking in your live stream for Journey, knowing full well it was Snow travelling with you. Great reaction to an amazing game. Though for some reason the game audio sounds like there's a boat motor distorting the sound in the captured video?
@dapperdamevods Just tested at work and the it's pretty noticeable starting in Paradise, 2:08:47 perhaps? Though I seem to remember hearing it in other levels as well. Might have been compression when you were speaking? Edit to add: seemed much more noticeable at home than here at work on my laptop. Could be some issues with my sound drivers at home as well :)
i was wondering what the white robe was about and the long scarf, i've met 2 player's that had this and wondered about it as other players i met were like me a normal character. sometimes they are busy doing trophy hunting and go off in a different direction, i'm yet to get it where both companions walk through together at the end lol it might happen on one playthrough eventually.

@@dapperdamevods Austin Wintory is a genius. Only time I ever cried playing a game was finishing Journey.

I fill sorry about people that played The Journey alone.
@@change2224 just finished the game solo, I wish I knew its a mp game. I was disappointed by the ending.

@dapperdamevods just a lil one?
I should hop back in this game soon. Being a White-Robe has it's perks.
I've never led someone through a Journey! could be fun
