Hey, would you mind elaborating on how you do these videos? Do you record audio and video separately and then combine them? What software do you use to combine the videos? Do you mix the audio at all?
Hi Jerrod, I just now saw this comment so I'm sorry for the late response! What I do is plug my microphone into my Macbook Pro, which is setup with Logic (my DAW of choice for now). I use Photobooth to record one long video, and then record the audio with the camera facing me. Ideally, I get a good take playing and then I'll use that part of the video later to sync up with the audio from that take. I'll record all of the tracks on Logic (with the video going so that I have it for later) and then edit the sound to make it sound how I'd like for a particular style or what have you, and then finally I use iMovie to sync the video and audio up. For the soli videos specifically, since there are multiple videos/instruments, you have to upload one video into iMovie and set it to only take up a part of the screen, sync up the audio, then export the entire video. Then you open up a new project in iMovie and import the last finished video and add the next video clip to it, also making it only take up a certain part of the screen. It's a bit of a complicated process (especially the movie stuff at the end because I'm not super knowledgeable on iMovie or video editing software), but I hope that that helps!
