- This is from 8/28/22. It's very rare, but sometimes I get a guest appearance from an actual musician, and not just someone who thinks they can play or even find the right key. This guy started playing off to the side in my blues jam. Then I motioned him to come over and we did two takes of 'The thrill is gone', all improvised. He was on a break from his cruise line gig heading to Alaska. Boats are only a few blocks away. This sure beats drunk harmonica players! At the end I'm talking to the same guy who watched me play for an hour on my July 1 video on corner of Robson street. He had his two dogs with him. He's still talking the usual BS about getting me on one of his sessions.

I was about to say the same - this sax player is a true musician. Guarantee he’s been playing 10+ years with feel like that!
Except one musician was amplified and the other wasn't - he must have bust a gut trying to play against that.

@@piezocat Was just thinking, I miss some back and forth flow. Felt like the guy with the sax had a hard time getting in. Would have been nice with some quiet cords in between, to make room for the sax.

@@10pm63 I think the sax player was being respectful and maybe a bit timid, he had his openings. Nothing a few practice sessions wouldn't iron out. I hope he comes back on a future video.
The sax player had some unusual, great sounding progressions in his solos.

I like how the sax player just eased into the groove with no grand entrance required. Then, as the guitar wove a melodic foundation, the saxman proceeded to bust loose and unleash his blues vocabulary. Very tasteful duet collaboration with neither maestro hogging the scene, and each complimenting the other.
Love the respect between these two artists. Saxophone comes up, says hello (in music language, with a couple of notes), but waits until the guitar player lets him in, and then they rock out together. Awesome stuff! ❤
The sax player seemed like a class act. Respectful in how he approached and how he played. Loved the interaction between you to.

Now this is absolutely what it’s all about, Music being a universal language. You could be approached by someone from any part of the world, who might not speak a word of Your language but they’ll understand exactly what you’re trying to say when they play along with you like that.

These mall cops are getting on my nerves. Already made a complaint about the guy who hassled man in wheelchair. Have yet to hear back from the company. That company name is Paladin.
Also have problems with the mall cops and pseudo-security in my area. It's important to remember that they signed a contract to protect PROPERTY, not people and because of that they aren't owed any respect as far as I'm concerned

as someone who just recently picked up my first guitar, and being in a family of musicians I have great love, appreciation, and utmost respect for what you do and provide to the world.
