    Anyone can build big - it takes true skill to build small. This is an excellent starter boat, although for someone who's not a gear head (like me) those engines might make me worry, and I would get an expert to take a good look at them. They're probably perfectly fine but when I see rust on an engine I pause. Thanks so much for showing the lower part of the price range as well as the top end and everything in between!

    Having read some of the comments further down, I agree with a lot of them. That's a lot of money for a boat that doesn't look in the best of condition but as you state they're a broker. I personally wouldn't go for this but if I did I'd be looking at around £50/55,000 for it because of the work required to get it up to speck. Once cleaned up and the engines given a good service' overhaul and clean up it does look like a good starter boat for a couple.

    I didn’t know that Cranchi made boats in the early 2000’s; I thought they were a new yacht builder! But either way it’s great to see what they were making 20 years ago and it looks like a great first or second boat! Lovely tour thanks Nick!

      Adding on to say that if you want to be more "Italian", the "I" in "Giada" is pronounced more like a double "e" as in "heel". So "Gee-ah-da" would be more accurate. But I imagine the Italians would still forgive you regardless.

    • @BillWalkerSD
      @BillWalkerSD 2 роки тому

      @@9VARZ Yep. In Italian, a g followed by an i or an e is always soft (like a j in English). To get a hard g, you have to put an h in between, as in a Maserati Ghibli. And Nick, it's not that hard to learn! I learned enough from an audiobook course I took before a trip to Italy. Well, enough to know how to pronounce things, anyway. Also enough to get myself in trouble by giving Italians the impression I spoke a lot more Italian than I did!

    Interesting Nick.
    I am surprised that it hasn't been tidied up if its for sale.
    For a small outlay the engines and outdrives could be smartened up. As it is now it looks unloved an un maintained, putting doubt in the mind of potential purchasers.
    As an ex motor-dealer, you would never present a used car like this!

      Have a glance at Marine Sales Scotland, they sell a lot of boats like this but they get them showboat glistening first, I mean they really scrub them up to the point they look new. It's a tiny firm - one salesman - but they have two full-time specialists who do nothing except detail the boats.

    • @AQUAHOLIC

      This was a brokerage boat, the yard doesn't own it, they're storing and selling it on behalf of an owner. So it's a bit like an estate agent situation, the condition is down to the owner.

    • @sirmalus5153
      @sirmalus5153 2 роки тому +1

      i bet the owner thinks of it like selling an older car. Why bother to spend money 'doing it up' when they just want shot of it for as little hassle as possible. Owners like that usually still want loads of money for it though. They get a bit cheeky on the price of second hand 'offloads'.

    Neat little boat, Nick! I had a question about the head...on your Motoholic channel, you've shown some smaller motorhomes where sink and the splash panel behind it turns to the side to create a shower stall rather than having the whole compartment get wet when the shower is used. Other than durability, is there a reason they aren't used on smaller boats? Thanks!

    Interesting boat, but as others have said, why would you sell a boat with work clearly needed?! Obviously the vendor rather than broker, but a lick of antifoul, service to engines (and clean!) and outdrives and it’d sell much easier. Sure there’s a reason, but still.

      @@darthkek1953 That's a very good point.
      But if they live in a city with an insane cost of living, it could be a temporary solution.
      I saw a video before on I think two brothers that live in on a boat in LA, and it turns out that living on this much larger boat, was considerably cheaper then renting an apartment of similar or I think maybe slightly smaller, size, if I remember correctly.
      Plus, if you're really desperate then you won't care about making it move by it's own power. A fiberglass hull apparently is fine by itself. I do know that warmth and hence condensation, will be a problem in cold weather. But its far better if the alternative is living on the streets.
      But very good point though. Plus, this would have to be a charity thing. Also I saw an Amazon Barn building company, offering an installation of a tiny two story insulated house for $16,000 US. But it had no running water, and everyone needs a toilet and shower...which is also a thing in boats with grey and black water tank disposal.
      So yes, this could really only be for the working homeless category of people.

      @@davidodonovan1699 Tempoary solution = pay twice. There are a lot of empty properties in the UK. The trouble is the homeless are not just without homes, if they were it would be an easy fix. The trouble is you quickly find the likes of mental ill health, alcohol addiction, drug addition, and occasional outright personality disorders. Without assistance for that a fixed location is just somewhere to hide during a downward spiral rather than being of uplifting benefit.

      @@darthkek1953 Yes. Unfortunately yes.
      Homelessness, poverty, drug addiction, etc, is far more a mental health issue then a physical one. The effects of this mental illness comes out in the physical conditions they live in.
      Everything from a nine year old picking up smoking, to a 13 year old losing her virginity and becoming a slut in secondary school, to a guy stabbing another guy after he paid him the weed he owed him, because he had already made up his mind to murder him.
      I could have gone down similar roots in my teenage years and later in life, but I know that God always made something come up where it all changed.
      Like being asked to steal a car and wait for further instructions and God showed me that this morally wrong, as opposed to the above people I've met that didn't have that snap back to reality.

      @@davidodonovan1699 The point is all you'll do by giving them a £50k boat is blow £50k of taxpayer's money and a couple of weeks later you'll have less than nothing of your profligacy with others money.
      Why not invite some homeless people to live in your home?
