Her voice could bring a song to life like nobody else, and she really did inspire me to make singing my passion. I figured it was about time to try a @TheCarpenters song for #Claireaoke. This is one of my favourites, #RainyDaysAndMondays. Holy Jesus Mary Joseph and the wee donkey, this song (and many others) by only the Carpenters made me sob alot - no one EVER has sang a cover Carpenters song and made me cry. Claire Richards, you just did😮 God bless you and your priceless voice. ❤

I can’t believe I’ve found this! I’m 38 years old and, like Claire, saw the same movie on tv when I was a kid and instantly became captivated by Karen’s voice.
On my wedding day, I signed the register whilst having her songs playing in the background.

Claire,..I hope you read this ..this may tickle you...i spent 10yrs in prison (92-02) and have always been a huge steps fan. Which to be honest ain't that cool in that environment.🤣but I don't care what people think.
So...back in 2001, me and my girlfriend and two friends went to power in the park in Southampton which you were headlining. the only problem is I was on a Day release from prison as I was due to go home the following year and had to be back at the jail at a certain time. it tickles me to say this but I was clock watching all day because no matter what you cannot be late getting back to the jail.. but I was desperate to see my favourite band steps !! I remember you come on- I think last - performed and Im now desperatly rushing back to prison before I'm in trouble.
it seems funny now because at the time I was a pretty big guy and having worked out for 10 years solid seems funny that I gambled getting into Deep shit just to see my favourite band steps.
Anyway I thought I'd share that with you. as I still love steps and and love 'your' voice best of all !!! Xx

Hi Claire I saw the same film when I was young and was simply amazed at the quality and clarity of Karen’s voice, so smooth and clear. Like you I was hooked but for listening rather than singing. You sang this amazingly well, a fitting tribute x

Beautiful and I Adore Karen . I am also ABBA. Obsessed and have said before I hold consider ABBA girls and you as equals . Agnetha did an Album she also produced herself of songs of artistes she respected and had influenced her called “My Colouring Book” my favourite track on that Album was the Cilla Black classic and number one hit “If I Thought You’d Ever Change Your Mind” firstly I would love to here an album of artistes you admire from you , secondly the track I have mentioned would suit you down to the ground in my opinion “ I would bring you happiness wrapped up in a box and tied with a yellow bow “ the best line in that song , I don’t know music but the note “ tied “ is very high and your high notes give me goose bumps ( real ones!) Thank you fit this Claire you are the whole package immense talent , kindness , modesty and no ego mwah xxx
