Thanks for this. I'll be doing this job on my 2002 America with TORs. Hoping it'll cure the popping on deceleration (which is really loud and invasive).
It definitely helps for the small amount of popping, making it smoother but if you're referring to louder bangs on decel, sounds like you may need to tune up the carbs if you haven't already done so. It can either be the mix screw being off or even different set of jets for the TOR's since it has more flow over stock pipes. Give us a ring M-F 9am-5pm PST and we can discuss further; we may have some jets if that's the case.
My Thruxton 2006 (carbs) has this mod. done and aftermarket silencer with nice sound and it is very thirsty ( 0.8- 1.0 liter) but it runs perfect! I suppose I have to change the nozzles for lower fuel consumtion?
How many miles are you getting ? With a full system setup, air box removed and riding hard, we can get about 70 miles or so and it’s at reserve. Considering it’s an older carb model too, we recommend doing a compression/leak down test to ensure engines not “tired” with rings/valve seats/etc.
I removed the SAI according to the instructions. I find acceleration improved, but at a constant speed of about 80-90km/h or lower around town, I find the bike (breathing) twitches slightly. Could this be due to SAI skimming?
Highly doubt it since it's unplugged from the bike if the instructions were followed accordingly. Twitching can sound like a tuning issue, dried up manifolds where you have a slight air leak, etc. What bike year/model do you have and what mods/tunes ?
My 2013 T100 has the SAI removed as per this video. Cured pipe bluing as expected. However I also have this "twitching" at steady throttle input, all speeds, all gears. Tried different fuel maps but had never really gone away. Unsure if it is due to SAI removal, but someone recently suggested it might be the ECU expecting leaner reading at the O2 sensors when SAI is present and letting more air into exhaust. So ECU tweaks timing/richness etc to compensate but if no extra air is added b/c SAI removed, then maybe ECU is over correcting things? Might try re-installing SAI to see if things improve.
@@britishcustoms Hello, I'm sorry to answer so late. My 2014 Bonnie has no tuning modifications other than SAI. After driving about 400km, I installed SAI back on the bike and I have to say that the 'twitching' has almost stopped, or is really very slight compared to when SAI is uninstalled.I read on the Triumph forum that the 2014/2015 models react to removal like this (may or may not be true), that the controller settings would have to be changed, but I don't dare. Since I won't be changing the exhaust or airbox I'll stick with the original setup when the bike behaves best with my riding style.
@@TornadoCAN99 over the years, we’ve had a few bikes twitching and it ended up being the valves which needed an adjustment/servicing or even o2 sensors since it’s on the lower percentile too (hence we remove them unless we’re going with a power commander)
@@jandvorak2725 that’s strange as SAI doesn’t protrude nor has a hole in an exhaust system (which would interrupt the overall flow if modified). Removal of the air box removal kit will render the air injection useless as the air that’s injected is from the air box. The air injection removed will allow the bike to run smoother with less heat therefore less “bluing” of the pipes.
I have bought a fair amount of after market products for my triumph and this is hands down the best how to video on how to install the parts
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback.
Well done, very educational with out all the blah, blah, blah. thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

If deleting AIS only you don’t need to remove battery, side panels and even tank. Just pull tank up and secure it. All together took me 7minutes ;)
Thank you, great video👍big help.
Glad it helped
Is this kit needed if you have the airbox removal kit?
Yes, this kit is needed. Please see the steps here: ua-cam.com/video/ahrMw6vyB_U/v-deo.html&lc=UgydvlMkObkbiH-T-fl4AaABAg
