- Early May we had a short one week family holiday in Corsica.
We stayed in two mountain villages and from there we explored with the kids the nearby beaches and surrounding mountains.
Locals told us that as a consequence of climate change, during the last three years the number of birds had dropped and butterflies
almost disappeared.
Identification of birds to the best of our knowledge.
Excellent video as usual, I enjoyed it! I wish that you had gotten video of the Corsican Nuthatch as well as the Corsican Finch! I would like to see them some day. At 14.21 that's a Northern Wall Brown, Ravens at 16:44 perhaps Common Buzzard at 17:00, Peregrines feed and soar differently.
Always look forward to your videos, especially the natural settings and bird songs. Very much appreciated Guy!
I thought this was the most beautifully put together bird video. Thanks for not being boring and talking over it! Very evocative. Just to say though that your two flying hooded crows were ravens, and I don't think the soaring peregrines were peregrines, looked more like buzzards, but thats me being pedantic. Thank you for transporting me!

Very nicely done as usual Guy and Rita just two small corrections your Hooded Crow at 16:44 are a pair of Raven and your Peregrine Falcon at 17:00 looks to be a bigger bird of prey possibly Buzzard but I'm not 100%. Great video though I look forward to seeing the next one for you two.

in and in the mountains surrounding the villages mentioned (short walks starting in the villages)
the coastal images were shot on the ' route des douaniers on the east coast.

16:46 these are ravens!
17:00 these are definitely not peregrines. Most likely they are honey buzzards.

16:46: Initially I also thought these were ravens, but with the binoculars one could clearly see the black and grey colors of the hooded crow. 17:00; these were small birds, not the size of a Buzzard, with a striped chest on binocculars (observed later on but not filmed) . it can still be another species!

I went back to my original footage and yoy are right, these were ravens. I
17.00 Not Peregrins, but som kind of Buzzard, as Job `t metioaned before. Falcons have a rather small head, long tail and sharp edge wings. Your bird is diving like a Peregrin, but it´s not a Peregrin! The Jizz tells us Buzzard!
This gets me excited for my trip to Corsica this August. Any luck seeing Corsican Finch or Nuthatch?
As mentioned ,this was a family holiday and not a birding trip.
We explored only a small part of the island and unfortunately, we did not see them.
However in June it was a magnificent place to stay!
Great, what camera are you using?
the camera's we are currently using are both from Sony: the videocamera is a FDR -AX53 and a RX10 type 3.
