It is disheartening that the legacy she leaves implies the acceptability of racism, discrimination, hate speech, and vitriol. Claudine Gay, it should not be so hard to condemn antisemitism.

They scream Intifada is an Arabic word literally meaning, as a noun, "tremor", "shivering", "shuddering". It is derived from an Arabic term nafada meaning "to shake", "shake off", "get rid of", as a dog might shrug off water, or as one might shake off sleep, or dirt from one's sandals.

Harvard endowment is $60 billion or something, they invest in everything and their network is vast af. So they’re not going to be blackmailed by money, they’re swimming in it and can have their own code of ethics they themselves enforce without external pressure (Harvard board are the real power players, not the dean )🫡
Oh she does, she doesn’t want to publicly admit that harvard, like a few other ivys is working directly with the Qatari gov to build campuses over there, in exchange for HUGE amounts of money and limited Qatari influence in some select classroom curriculum.
I do not like any restrictions on speech at universities. But I do believe that it cannot be conducted in a way that makes it impossible to respond (loud speakers, chanting, drowning out the reply).
Anything that “can” lead to actions of hate and racism. Is this so hard to understand? Do you think that calling death to Zionists, etc…, doesn’t bring violence? What about screaming “death to Russia”, would that not lead to violence? I think it’s obvious what kind of language leads to “actions”! If in doubt, maybe desist? Maybe universities should stay out of one sided controversies? To report both sides, to do cold historical research, is SO important rather than creating hateful rhetoric. If we’re just opinions about Zionism or peaceful debate, it’s actually encouraged. When writing a one way letter condemning Israel at the time that Hamas killed over one thousand people without condemning Hamas, it’s beyond not acceptable!
The central question starts and ends at 6:14 The university presidents have the responsibilty outlined at 8:31 The universities seem incapable of differentiating free speech from hate speech, or are unable to police it. Worse, they seem reluctant to enforce the university's position and govern student behavior when transgressions occur. The chairwoman states that the university atmosphere and culture seems to be rotting, not welcoming and inclusive, partly due to poor choices in faculty members.

Since you singled out Dr. Gay, I assume you're referring to her skin color. So Hitler should not be lectured until he commits crimes? I guess I need to become an Harvard graduate to understand this.🤪
So, let me get it straight.
They don't do a process of examination and declining speakers that are being invited to their universities.
At most they will issue a statement against rethorics they do not agree with but will still give them a stage and time to educate their students in those subjects.
So, it seems to me that if someone were to invite Hitler to speak at their university they wouldn't deny him his stage and in the best case they will just make a statement that they don't agree with his views.
But will still provide him with the stage and time to educate and poison their students with his views.
No wonder they are a thriving ground for the epidemic of antisemitism and hate.
They sure don’t. Did Kim Kardashian give a speech at Harvard last year?
Disallowing speakers roles radicalism more than hearing the insane ideas of idiot speakers. Let an idiot speak and it will be clear why people should not following in step.

Yep, Gay admits to the antisemitism on the Harvard campus, but she can't admit it when questioned, and she refuses to say that she failed to hold those students accountable for their actions. Free speech does not allow for the call of violence against others. Violence doesn't solve anything.
Claudine Gay - "it depends on the context" - How about if we change the question to read "Blacks". instead of "Jews"? Under what context is it possible to call for the genocide of Blacks and not violate Harvard's standards? "If it becomes converted into action?" So you it's"just words" until someone gets hurt? What an embarrassment> I didn't notice if anyone asked how much money each of these schools receive from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and other oil rich countries. I'm wondering if these schools are "owned" by the Arabs.
Yes the question was asked and they had no answers but the Congress person who asked had them. These "administrators" ought to be ashamed of themselves.
What a great point.
False equivalence
The "call for genocide" refers to "from the river to the sea" or wtv
There's no opportunity to place the word {black} or {gew} anywhere
So
Facts
Sorry I wasn't clear. "Lynching of Blacks" in this context, IS equivalent to "killing members of an ethnic group BECAUSE of their ethnicity". In my example, members are "Blacks" but in the question posed to Gay, "Jews". They are either both morally reprehensible or both "context dependent." Waiting until that escalates into conduct is equally morally reprehensible. I was just bringing the subject a bit closer to home for Gay, since she didn't seem to get it when it concerned Jews. As suggested by Steve Pinker, Gay holds her position at Harvard because of DEI. Full stop. It's an embarrassment.. @@OctavianAsix

The university presidents have the responsibilty outlined at 8:31
The universities seem incapable of differentiating free speech from hate speech, or are unable to police it. Worse, they seem reluctant to enforce the university's position and govern student behavior when transgressions occur. The chairwoman states that the university atmosphere and culture seems to be rotting, not welcoming and inclusive, partly due to poor choices in faculty members.
if Congress actually wanted to improve the situation, that is, counter bias in society, it would promote unbiased hiring, unbiased admissions, and most importantly, encourage quality high school history education and support free speech everywhere in society.
