Mon-El's maturity is hard won. He's old enough to have known Jor-El, and spent a thousand years in the Phantom Zone. He's the oldest of the Legion no matter how you slice it.
This guy has been around for so long with such a great convoluted history any appearance is cool be it Lar Gand Mon_El or my favourite series Valor LOL it was good though.
I like Mon-El he was cool with me! Picture him coming into the Marvel universe as a inter dementional alien and he teams up with the X-MEN for a while? It'll be like another Longshot but with Daximite superpowers, plus it would make Gambit jealous when Rogue starts flirting with him just like she hit on Longshot!
Hi Case, even though it's the year 2022,great video about the Most Powerful Member Of The Legion Of Super-Heroes or should I say The Legion of 3 Worlds, also The Pre-Zero Hour Classic, Retroboot Mon-El (Lar Gand) is (as of 3033): a member of The Pre-Zero Hour Classic/Retroboot Legion Of Super-Heroes and a former member of both The L.E.G.I.O.N. and The Justice League Of America, he's also the On-again, Off-again Boyfriend Of Shadow Lass(Tasmia Mallor, Pre-Zero Hour, Classic, Retroboot), Lar and Shady have since fully reconcile but also settle their differences, also The Post Zero Hour Mon-El(Lar Gand,Post Zero-Hour,New Earth,Prime-Earth) who(as of 3033): is a member of The Post Zero-Hour Legion Of Super-Heroes (Post Zero Hour,New Earth, Prime-Earth,Earth 247), also the boyfriend of The Post Zero-Hour Shadow Lass(Tasmia Mallor,Post Zero-Hour,New Earth,Prime Earth), also The Threeboot Mon-El (Lar Gand,Threeboot, Earth-Prime), is a member of the Earth-Prime Threeboot Legion Of Super-Heroes of Earth-Prime, and the Bendis-Boot,Post Rebirth Mon-El (Lar Gand, Post Rebirth,Prime Earth) is a member of The Post Rebirth Legion Of Super-Heroes of Prime Earth, also Mon-El is still one of my best but favorite Characters ever also thank you for sharing Case or should I say POV Media keep up the good work stay safe out there and have a nice day and as always Long Live The Legion and stay Super Man.🙂👍🟢💪🇺🇲🦸😀👊✌️
I think the design is pretty good and it's an interesting take having him be a descendant, but it is getting away from the original idea that made the character unique. Bendis's run hasn't really sold me yet, but I'm open to more! - Case
@@certainpovmedia I know very little about legion stuff but I honestly felt it was quite unnecessary to make him a descendant. I always enjoyed the genetic offshoots that the daxamites are haha. Appreciate your great videos ☺️
lol, it somehow sounds more pulled out of a hat than Mon-El! Still... a relationship and an aspect of the character that was really special when looking back! - Case
Newer comics have mon el be jon kent's 6 times great grandson talk about convaluted. My take on it hel kar is mon el ancestor, daxam keeps its origins as a kryptonian colony eons ago before maybe even seg el ever came to exist. Mon el gets sent into space but like supergirl ends un the phantom zone and arrives on earth slightly before kara does but remains dormant he gets found by perhaps lexcorp of even zod during his figjts with superman tries to convince hin to join his side but ultimately refuses and gets lead poisoning and must be sent into the phantom zone some time past and he gets cured. He meets supergirl and becomes honorary member of the house of el but chooses to keep the name lar gand to forge it into a new more herois legacy as the hero valor. Half a millenium later we get mon el his descendant of him and kara and is the ancestor of andromeda and laurel kent who is becomes the founding member of the united planets along with a descendant of thanagarians and martians representatives
I dig it! Wouldn't be the first time we have 2 versions of Lar Gand running around! Honestly, I was not thrilled with the Bendis Legion in general and his concept of Mon-El could work but is also just a completely different character. - Case
@@certainpovmedia recently ive beeb brainstorming my own take on supermans mythos mainly as a thought experiment of how diferent the dc universe would be if kara arrived on earth first becoming superwoman not powergirl and clark be the superboy developing his electrical and psychic powers as a mutation due to kryptonite and the phantom zone. Though ill afmit bendis run on superman is hit and miss that said im not agaisnt the superman books slowly building up into the leguons future due to the close relationship the house of el has with the legion in a similar way batman comics are slowly leading into the batman beyond future. Would be surprise if green lanteen did the same. Lar gand choosing to keep his name since he wouldnt feel he earned his new kryptonian name but rather would slowly over time build a legacy of heroism for daxam like sodam yat and later on andromeda, by having mon el in this case be a descendant still keeps the whole mon el and andromeda family ties but also helps build the timeline since the superman dynasty and house of el across the multiverse is huge which helps in my take fill some of the gaps in time.
These are all adaptations of twitter threads I wrote starting in 2018 and ran semi-daily until mid 2020 when life kind of got crazy. I have more to do (some very big obvious examples) but... life. There are a lot as it is... a couple hundred. At some point I'd like to ramp up production and get these out faster than one a week but that's when my day job becomes less crazy. @@certainpovmedia Great to know that you have so many more Superman analogues to do these for! I'm looking forward to seeing them! Mon-El's best costume is the 90's short sleeve retractable cape costume.
Mon is so underrated.
Agreed!
He should appear on Superman and Lois every once and awhile
He should make appearance in season 4
Where Mon El as his full powers and he helps Superman beat Doomsday

Brainiac-5 developed an anti-lead serum for Mon-El, effectively removing his only physical weakness.
