I spent most of my adult life believing that my SSA couldn’t be overcome because I was “born that way”. My atheist family were delighted. Only after converting was I totally healed of this sin and started to see people in an entirely different way. I wish I had met someone who had witnessed the truth for me before.

I’m a teacher in a Catholic primary school. Pope Francis *needs* to make a pronouncement on transgenderism! He needs to say that God made you and therefore you are perfect, he doesn’t make mistakes and no one is born in the wrong body.

@Anthony - no one is condemning anybody. And no one is suggesting we don’t accept those that are different. Do some people have homosexual desires, yes. Do some people feel they are a different sex than what they are born as, yes. Are some people born with abnormalities as you described, yes. All are God’s children and are loved. That does not mean we should “adjust” the word of God and change our beliefs. There are more people born with some number of digits other than 20 than people in the entire alphabet mafia, yet everyone would agree that there is only one right answer to the question.
A real Christian would never demean a trans gender person. They would accept them as a child of God and pray for them. However, they would not buy into their behavior. There are several truths that the word of God tells us. Some of them are:
1. Any sexual behavior that is not between a man and a woman is unnatural and a sin. The desire to commit such acts are not a sin, but acting on it is.
2. There are only males and females which are determined by biological features such as chromosomes and sexual organs. Any deviation from this or mentality that you are other than your biology suggests is a disorder.
3. The bibble does not tell us not to judge, rather it tells us to only judge after we have judged ourselves in the same manner. I am a sinner… these acts of unnatural sex are sins. I pray for all who perform them just as i ask for you to pray for me.
I hold no Ill will toward anyone, but I will not change my faith to succumb to the far left. I will not appease someone who wants to play dress up and talk to children about unnatural things. I will not placate to those who think they can “choose” pronouns. Pronouns were meant to broadly describe a noun, not actually be “personal” or change every five minutes.

I’m in social work school and I met a middle school social worker that encourages students to explore their sexuality and gender identity. It makes me rethink putting my future children into public school.
Saying public schools are a risk to your future children is like people saying they’re avoiding Catholicism because of its chronic problem of clerical sexual abuse. Prejudice is to be avoided.

Prejudice is definitely undesirable, deconstructive, and against Christian teachings. On that I hope we can all agree.
Recognizing a prevalent institutional failing that has a real possibility of harm isn't prejudice, and the stance that public schools are the only or best option for educating psychologically healthy kids is not supported by the evidence in many districts (and not just because of race, sexual-orientation, or gender-identity issues, but also general decay of academic rigor, course quality and diversity, behavioral norms, etc.)
That doesn't mean any individual school district is bad, but school quality and indoctrination concerns are certainly valid issues for any parent to investigate and are more than valid reasons to seek alternatives.

Actually I'm grateful for this transgender thing that's going on. It's made me research on the physical and emotional differences between men and women. I've been able to gather a lot of information about the differences between the two sexes. All this has established and proven that what is written in the Bible is very true. God made us male and female and He made us in His own image. We can never change that fact no matter how many surgeries we have and no matter how many drugs we take. Our manhood or our womanhood is written in our very DNA which was ordained by Almighty God from the very beginning of our existence.
This transgender debate has actually drawn me closer to my Creator rather than the opposite. It's reiterated the fact that we live in a fallen world where humans are in active rebellion against their Creator. But no matter how much they try to change what God has created, they will never succeed and they'll just end up making a fool of themselves.
All they have succeeded in doing is proving the sovereignty of Almighty God.

@Anthony intersex babies is an anomaly. Specialists define it as disorders of sex development (DSD). That fact alone should drop any false theories. God made us Male and Female, and that's it.

Norma Temp love is willing the good of another or the best in me sacrificing for the best in you. Encouraging children to ascribe to an ideology that is not only contrary to science and natural law, let alone a moral ethic rooted in Christianity, (which I get has been abandoned today) is not loving. Doing so does not will the good in another. Taking kids who are more or less mas or fem and then convincing them they can be either sex, neither sex, fluctuating sex, a furry etc is absolute insanity. Please convince me how prescribing young children hormone blockers ($ to drug companies) and removing and adding body parts ($$$ to doctors) is willing the good of another. And we do need more compassion and empathy, again, this narrative that sex is a social construct is not supported by science or the natural law. I would also say the data outlining the fruit of this ideology (that is not promoting love and acceptance but rather mass adoption) would make anyone concerned for human well-being alarmed. The suicide rates in youth and those in those who have “transitioned” today particularly young females has exponentially increased and is directly related to this irrational ideology. Again, science does not support the notion that one’s sex can change in a whim anymore than one can by fiat determine they’re a cat. Both are equally irrational. To force the rest of society 99.999% to ascribe and adopt such unfounded, and unscientific ideologies is not willing the good for the .00001% or society as a whole.

I watched a podcast with a great Nun recently. She stated that anyone who stays silent about sin and this particular sin is now pushed on our children in schools will not get to Heaven. It really got me thinking, standing up for Christ and against the evils that satan are behind in this world is a small price to pay for an eternity in hell.

I am a Deacon out of the diocese of Lubbock and I just preached on this subject this pass Sunday. I was preaching on the Holy Spirit and how it is a gift from God to guide us through this journey of life. I use the example of the ridiculous idea of all the types of genders we are seeing today and how they come from men. They know nothing about God or just refuse his plan for us. They lack the Holy Spirit in their daily lives and if we go along with this nonsense we are doing more than just inability people I believe we are damming ourselves. Why do I believe that because we probably know better but because we don't want to upset anyone we just go right along. I'm not going to apologize because I feel this is something I will have to account for on my day of judgment. I'm not worried about those that can destroy my body but more so the one that can destroy both body and soul. May God be with us and continue the good fight.
Trans people can be holy, can be filled with the Holy Spirit - all expressions and attachments to gender norms are from human beings. Be open to the wonder of God's creation - God made me trans! Why should I fight God - I won't fight God. I will accept 'His' plan for me and be a holy trans person to the best of my ability.

enlightenment must begin in the Church. There are so many Catholics who do not even listen to the Church unless it favors them. This is one big problem right now. too many priests and bishops have become afraid to do what they vowed to do for God. I pray that courage will once again be restored in our Church.

Father Murray is my favorite priest who speaks and writes publicly about the true Faith and against the errors of the bishops and the pope. In another papacy, he would be ordained a bishop and a Cardinal. However, God will reward him with honors far greater than those in heaven.
Back in 2005 I asked Bishop Stephen Blaire (bishop of the Stockton Diocese in CA) why we, as Catholics, didn't hear homilies on Sundays about how evil abortion is. His answer shocked me. He said that he didn't want the priests in his diocese to offend people from the pulpit. He actually said that...

I don't agree with the stance, but I'm glad he was honest about it. It's easier for someone to make a decision and/or to have an actual discussion when honesty is part of the equation.
I am not Catholic, and I do agree with *most* of what I heard here, but I fully agree with your sentiment about honesty and forthrightness. Disagreements are inevitable, but the only way to coexist healthily depends on mutual understanding, which cannot be achieved if we withhold our honest good faith understanding from each other or refuse to listen when someone else is sharing their understanding.
My Catholic priest speaks out against all of this B.S. that's going on. Today he gave a great sermon on this very subject and the ridiculousness of the way people think today.
In the last few weeks our parish priest told the congregation off for being transphobic - I'd rather have my parish priest than yours. Your parish priest will be the death of some poor trans person.

Paragraph 1 of the Basic Law in Germany reads: "Human dignity is inviolable."
Since insults in Germany fall under this law... he was charged, sentenced to a fine of 3000 €, acquitted in the second instance. He has meanwhile apologized.

Of course, in Germany EVERYONE is equal before the law.
Although the church is given some preference, since its employees (mainly priests) who have sexually assaulted countless altar boys and wards have left the enlightenment to the church and it has covered everything up.

You know with what type of individual you are dealing with based on them. Maybe it's just weird because in my country people swear a lot and noone is fined for it. Like calling those bad priests by their name may seem like an insult, but if they've done such and such, then insulting them is justified. We've been polite, tolerant and patient for a little too long. We have failed. Not in opposing just abortion, but in acting as we are commanded to do, to stand against Evil, spiritual, moral and physical! We are commanded to do so little:
1) Love one another, as Christ has loved us.
2) Love our neighbors as ourselves.
3) Despise Evil, reject Evil, fight Evil.
4) Deny ourselves, take up our Cross and follow Christ.
5) Preach the Gospel, endlessly, whether it be convenient or inconvenient.

@@jonathandoran2623 for starters, most Catholics/conservatives/etc. don't even understand one of the main talking points made by trans people- that a trans person doesn't suddenly flip-flop from one gender to another on a whim, but rather that a trans person has *always* been the gender they identify as, even if they were labeled otherwise at birth based on apparent biological sex.
I understand now why I was so much moderated I was actually doing the right thing without knowing it!!!

I don't know honestly, the question of "are people born gay" is such a difficult one because it brings into question what really is homosexuality and how does it occur in a person. The leading identifiers that's have been seen are that of pre-natal hormone exposure mixed with a form of trauma at a young age, especially of a sexual nature. The idea of the "gay gene" is almost nonexistent now as we've never found a sign of its existence. Most I'd say just go with "it exists, I don't know why, but it does and we should accept it, which I also don't know why we should do that, but we should."

DNA says if you're male or female, not anything else.

What changes is the cultural language and constructs (the localised understanding). As for referencing biology - there is still much disagreement as to what part of biology allows for 'certainty' regarding bodily sex. Let me tell you a story about my friend. This is a true story. She’s lgbtq and Christian. She told me When she was questioning her sexuality and crying she prayed to god to give her a sign that being lgbtq wasn’t a sin. After another breakdown she fell asleep.When she wokeup the next morning she went down stairs into the kitchen and the sun had hit the window just right, casting rainbows that covered the whole kitchen. There was her sign, being gay and trans isn’t a sin god loves you no matter what
