How to update Fujifilm camera firmware? - simple instructions

- It is always a great idea to keep your cameras firmware up to date. In this video I show you how you can update the firmware of your Fujifilm camera. First you have to check if updates for your camera are available. Then you need to download the available updates, put them on an SD card and then install them on your camera. I will show you step by step how to install the updates on a Fuji camera. The process is easy. One has to remember that you need a firmware package for the camera body and also for the lens.

Hi, thanks for the video really helpful 👍 I have a question for you if you can help me, I own a Fuji xe3 (brought 3 years ago) , I never did a software upgrade on the camera but I would like to do it right now. The question is have I to do all the updates available, also the "Old" one, or I just need to do the last one available? If I do also the "old" one it will be fine or could I have some problem with my camera?
@@liv0003 Hi LiV! Thank you for asking, I'm happy to hep you. When you do upgrade just use the very latest release that the Fuji website offers. You don't have to do the intermediate ones. If you for some reason did not use the latest release but did an earlier one, that is still OK. Your camera will work no problem. With older upgrade releases it may be that you do not have some of the very latest fixes but your camera will still work fine. Kind regards!
thank you so much, I have the same issue when trying to update my lenses as others here saying firm ware not found. The files look different to the body file which was successfully updated. Lens F18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS.

I'm trying to update my fuji xf16-55mm firmware but I have two. DAT files, do I drag both of them to my sd card or what?
Hi! You typically need just one .DAT file. It's difficult to say which one is better for your XF 16-55mm R lens. I just download them but I do not have that lens so I cannot try it myself. Of the two files the XFUP0019.DAT is 10 min newer than the other file. So maybe try that first. Let me know how it goes. Kind regards!

@@greenunrama5712 Hi! You can use the camera itself as a memory card reader to the file on the SD card. Connect your camera to your computer using a USB cable. Make sure that the camera is turned on and set to a mode that allows file transfer (usually, the camera will prompt you or automatically go into a USB mode). Kind regards!
I have gfx 50s ii and try to updates lens gf 80mm 1.7, not working, try everything, Camera mesage FIREWIRE NOT FIND PLEASE TURN CAMERA OFF , I even exchange lens , and it's a same mesage, please help
Hi Roman! Thank you for asking. This message indicates that the camera is not detecting the lens or the connection properly during the update process. Maybe try cleaning the lens mount and reattach the lens. Try updating the camera firmware first without the lens attached. Once the camera firmware is updated successfully, then try updating the lens firmware separately. Also ,double check that the firmware version is compatible with the camera. Also, have the camera format the card before you use the card for running the upgrade. Let me know how it goes. Kind regards!

camera keeps saying "no firmware found"
Hi! I'd like to help you to solve this issue. Pleas provide more information. What camera are you updating and what steps have you completed prior to seeing this message? It could be many things such as incorrect firmware version, corrupted file, un-formatted memory card, battery or hardware issues. Kind regards!

I was able to update the body on my Fuji XS10 from 1.05 to 3.10. Now I'm trying to update the lens which is the XF16-80mmF4 R OIS WR. I did the same steps as you described in your video. But whenever I go to the lens update on the camera it always gives me the same error, " New Firmware not be found. Turn off the camera." I even bought a new SDXC card to make sure. But I'm still have the same issue. @@tom_photo
@@GRIMBYNIGHT Hi! Thank you for your clarification. I checked this and the file you are trying to use is very fresh. It became available on on Feb 20 this year. May there is a bug in it and they haven't fixed it yet. My advice is to try again a month from now. Kind regards!
