Thank you my friend!! This thing truly is absolutely amazing for this price point! ! I actually have the Misha Mansoor signature USA Jackson HT7 Bulb with her “P” for periphery inlay on the 12th fret and it’s mighty damn close to the feel and playability. Surprisingly the fret work is better on the Jeff Loomis like WHAAAAAT?? 😱
Thanks for pointing out the lean forward. I don't see enough talk about this issue with the Kelly. I wish there were an easy fix. I've seen some people suggest humorously to raise the strap and use your belly (or get one).
The Pro Model is a very nice guitar. The USA Custom shop as a full body, better grade ash, locking tuners, MOP inlays, titanium Floyd hardware (not the whole thing) and the carbon reinforced two way truss rod.
@@thepetemetalshow It is, and he was. The whole band was tight. Truly one of the greats and the guitar looks abdolutely brutal when you see it in real life.
I love mine, but the pickups feedback too much. I'm confident after some adjustments and string/spring dampeners and maybe claw, spring and block upgrades that it will blossom into what it is intended to be. Jackson cheaped out on the claw and springs, but the Floyd 1500 series isn't bad compared to an OG original German one. Killer playing too sir!
I prefer the original Floyed and yeah the pickups are annoyingly loud 😂 I might swap them out or trade in the entire guitar for a USA king V since I already have a Jackson Kelly Custom Shop and I absolutely love it
This is exactly the review I was waiting for all that time! Nice playing man! Are you going to try the new Brandon Ellis’s signature Kelly? I would very much like to see the review of that axe too!
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed the video and the review. The Brandon Ellis is nice however, I don’t like the fact that it only has the bridge pickup and no neck pickup.
New video just went up. If you loved the Jeff Loomis you’ll DEFINITELY want to watch this unboxing. It’s not the Brandon Ellis but you’ll have to watch the video 🤘🏽 🔥 🔥 🔥
This is my first Jackson Kelly and it sits weirdly when it just hangs there. I have the Misha Mansoor USA HT7 Bulb and that one is fine and I’ve also owned 2 king V’s and a Jackson USA KV7 from Corey Beaulieu from Trivium and that had an insane neck dive. I do miss that guitar tho 🤦🏽♂️ but I’ve never had that lean forward thing that the Kelly does which is a first for me
@@thepetemetalshow I hadn’t thought about it actually… were you referring to the V or the Kelly? I’m probably not as good at guitar as you so it wouldn’t be the best video lol
@@thomasjameson5761 you don’t have to play good. Make a video about your likes and dislikes of the gear you currently have. I’m not that good at guitar either if you ad jume! I just have fun with it
I just got one and love it. My only question is the pickups. I don’t hear but a very slight difference when toggling between them. Is it pretty noticeable going between the pickups, or does it pretty much sound the same? I can usually hear the difference, but don’t with this. It’s driving me crazy haha. Thanks.
Trust me you will not be disappointed!!! They sound amazing together however? My Jackson HT7 Bulb sounds the best with this amp as far as rhythm playing goes
That is my favorite body shape. But.. if you have any belly at all you have to relocate the strap button to the upper horn. If that is not enough you can also relocate the bottom strap button to the back of the body. It worked great for my xiphos. I also leave the existing buttons on to try different combinations.
@@thepetemetalshow if you got used to it then that's awesome! But I had an opportunity to get a snake bite at a great price but unfortunately I was too fat for it :-(
I played it yeserday in the store. It's set up well from the factory. Action is low at about 3/64" and neck is almost straight resulting in very even action. The binding is top, the fretwork is good (felt smooth), the tuners feel good and despite the action being low it doesn't buzz much. The only thing that I absolytely dont like are the frets. They're not wide enough. I don't like tall and thin. I like tall and wide or thin and low. Don't ask me why. So if I ever buy this guitar, I'll take it straight to the shop for a refret with Jescar 57110.
I absolutely get it. It’s all a matter of preference because it’s not one size fits all so I completely understand your complaint. It’s not 100% perfect for me either because I think the pickups are extremely hot and because if that they buzz. I have to roll back on the volume. I was thinking of switching them out but not sure for what yet
@@thepetemetalshow Yeah that's also another thing. They're quite noisy. I'm not much of an active pick up guy but there's better ones that the Loomis pups. The emg 57 are solid.
I was confused about this too. I emailed Jackson and they replied saying the stock strings are 10-46, which was incorrectly listed as 10-49 on their site but they have since updated it.
@@steamedyams18 that’s odd. I know that the strings that came with it were very light gauged. I don’t look at the strings that come with it or pay attention to that because for every new guitar I get I always have a fresh set of NYXL’ s ready to be replaced almost instantly when I receive it
Wicked playing and review. This guitar seems killer. Is the neck overly thin or is it alright? I tried a Jackson DK2 and found that the neck was quite thin and narrow. What are your thoughts? Looks like the Jeff Loomis guitar is working for you. Thanks.
Thank you so much! The neck is definitely thin and if your not a fan of thin necks your not gonna be a fan of this one. The guitar plays amazing and definitely exceeded my expectations for a pro model. I guess Jeff wasn’t messing around when he wanted the pro model to be great. I have a USA Misha Mansoor HT7 and this pro model feels more solid then the USA.

Thank you so much and I appreciate the feedback. I can totally agree with your statement fir the most part. I’m gonna do a side by side comparison with my USA Jackson Misha Mansoor Bulb HT7 this passes with flying colors. The fret work is actually better on the Jeff Loomis Korean build .... like whaaaaaaat??? 😱 I think Jeff Loomis was being serious about his Korean built Jackson because this thing checks all the boxes. There’s not much of a difference between the USA model and the Korean built other than Ash wood (USA) and bass wood (Korea). It has the same trem system as the USA model and if you check one of my other videos I go in on the trem with dive bombs, and pull that sucker all the way back Dimebag Darrell style. It checks all the boxes for me as most of my guitars are high end models. You should try one because now a days most places have a return policy and you can chose a different one if your not happy. Thanks for swinging by and checking out the channel brother 🤘🏽
@Alessandro B I can Agree. I am starting to think about either getting my Misha Mandoor Jackson USA fixed because the fret edges are extremely sharp and for my ears I am not a fan of the pickups even though the younger generation folks absolutely love the Bare Knuckle pickups.
