Of the 5 Jackson guitars that I currently own, only one has an FR bridge. All the rest are fixed bridge. If I could replace the on FR bridge model with a fixed bridge version, I would. It's hard to do with Jackson. They just don't make enough fixed bridge varients.
Me and my brother play guitar. He's a die-hard Jackson and floyd rose fan and I'm an ESP and a hardtail/tune-o-matic fan and that issue with Jackson not putting enough hardtail guitars out is something we always agree on. Personally I'm finally glad they made a hardtail Jeff Loomis Kelly because I've been wanting one of his Kelly's since they came out.
@evenzeroescanbeheroes6875 , I typically play Jackson, Ibanez, Schecter or ESP/LTD....And of all those brands, Jackson has the fewest fixed bridge models. Schecter has the most. They are really good about catering to both camps. But my fave guitar is my fixed bridge Soloist. I wish, wish, wish Jackson made more.
@@BazonBlades maybe we are finally seeing the light at the end of the hardtail tunnel. I hope they come out with more soon and not just 7 strings like the recent Pro Plus Dinkys
I like having one with a Floyd and one without. The one with the Floyd is my main guitar but I also like to be able to quickly change tunings when I want to mess around and play cover songs
Totally. I have a few with hipshot bridges for that same reason. That being said, if Simon still had his FR equipped Kelly and wanted to trade, I'd probably do it lol.
Okay cool! Now we’re cooking with fire!!!! Let’s goooo!!!! Now I’m interested in a Jackson again for the first time in like 20 years! I’m not a signature series fan but I am a Kelly fan. But it’s been difficult to find a nice one without a Floyd rose.
I just got the Loomis Kelly with the Floyd, suprise i had Foam in the Springs! I grew to like the Floyd on that Guitar, stays in Tune pretty well and i had no issues after initial Setup and Intonation. I also didn't have a lot of noise, my Normal Noise gate Settings for Passive Guitars clamp down on the Blackouts noise Floor very nicely. So Far i really love the Jeff Loomis Kelly with the Floyd.
It's a fantastic guitar! My only issue when putting foam in the springs is IME sometimes when you do really big dives, the foam will get between the springs on expansion and stop it from going back to neutral all the way. The red noiseless springs work pretty well, but there's always a little bit of spring noise.
@@TaylorDanley That is true, i might invest in the Noiseless Springs aswell. I am very happy with my purchase overall, its really a fantastic Guitar. The Floyd 1500 is also pretty good!
YES! Watched Loomis video on this and urs goes further! I love small explorers and I love string through! Now lets get this made 7 string, with reverse headstock 🤣. And lets get an HT Ellis model too 🤣
I don’t understand the pricing of this vs the original. Despite having the exact same specs other than the bridge, the hardtail version is £180 more. Surely a hardtail bridge and a body with less routing, plus less time to set up in the factory means lower cost? Bizarre.
Yeah for real. I think most manufactures have some ass pricing these days. The only brand that stands out is Schecter. They offer more options on guitars that are $900 versus other brands that don't even offer the bare minimums at $1.2k. If Jackson makes a line of HT Warriors below $1k, I'm sold.
I ordered it the moment I saw it. It arrives next week. And only today I realised it has nickel jumbo Fret instead of stainless steel extra-jumbo... I am sure it will be fine...
@@BazonBlades Yup this one has a caramelized speed neck. The pictures on GC make it look like total garbage. Looks much better in person. The top looks kinda cheap though. I would imagine the js32 are mostly the same quality neck wise, but I have not tried one.
@@BazonBlades yup, that's the one. One of my favorite guitars to use for daily practice. It's the guitar I take on trips as well. EDIT: Oh yeah I added a JB pickup in the bridge.
Take a close look at the binding around the frets for me if you could, please. I received TWO of these guitars that appear they do not have proper tools for fret dressing leaving gouges in the binding.
Listen, I’ve owned several Floyd’s. I enjoy them as a novelty for doing dive bombs and dime squeals, and I’ve never had an issue keeping it in tune or changing the strings, but just being brutally honest- I’m not a good enough guitar player to incorporate one into my playing. So, I never used them when I owned them. So I sold them and bought TOMs and Evertunes lol
With pickups like that, I wonder if Jeff is the kind of guy to use a 4-cable noise gate Also I know there's probably a lot of vids and guides out there, but do you think you could do a short on adjusting pickup height for the dummies like me? You're probably one of the best explainers out here lol
I would not overthink setting pickup height. For the bridge humbucker start with fretting the highest low e fret and use a 2.00 mm pick to measure the gap (you can use coins as well, look up their thickness. or stack a few picks you have.) between the string and pickup. Adjust the string 1-3 side to be slightly higher. You can use a 1.5mm pick as well on the high e/string 1. From there just play and adjust by ear. EMG's seem to like to be pretty close to the strings. For single coils things are a bit different. they need to be further away from the strings to not effect intonation. Pretty much just look at what Dimarzio or SD suggests on their websites as a starting point.
I love gear and gear videos. But there comes a point when we all have to realize and understand, no matter the high gain amp, pick ups, amp, what ever, it all sounds the same.
When you play Metal, you don’t need a tone pot. All those effects, and gain, negate tone. I’m finally beginning to understand how my grandfather felt, when I cranked up Hendrix. 🤣
Supernova. Supernova goes pop! Thanks for the powerman5000 riff there
I'm SO happy someone noticed!!!

Yeah that's one of the reasons why I stray away from Floyds. The ease of changing tunings on a hardtail is hard to beat in my opinion.
Once a week, every week should be Jackson open boxing day for Taylor!
I'd 100% do this, but it would fill up my house super quick lol
Man, if they had this is a 7-string model I'd be all over it.
Loomis' old schecter 7 string is still a bad ass unit
While I personally never had any issues with Floyds, more options are always good.

I suggest looking at Solar guitars because I doubt that’s gonna happen

It's called money grab. They know the demand is there, so people are gonna pay for it.
That's incredibly strange and annoying. It's like they went "we had to listen to our customers and that's infuriating. Now pay more for it."

Awesome that it is made in Korea!!!!
Basswood body!!! I expected more for the price. The old Jackson X series KEXTMG had Basswood body too.
