My start was in a charity crochet/knitting group at my local library! I didn't have anything to start, but the library rented out hooks and the group received donated yarn. With a simple hat pattern from a fellow crocheter, I started crocheting again. After a month I came across the first pica Pau book and spent the next two days making bonny puffin! I made a lot of mistakes, but I was so proud! I shared it with the group, and they loved it too. 3 1/2 years later, and I've made around 50. I even entered a design contest this week, with only a week to prepare my entry! It's been quite a journey already, but I have a feeling my love for toymaking will last for several more years to come.

My mom taught me to crochet and knit when I was young.. we have both done both throughout the years... about 5 years ago I introduced her to amigurumi and now she is retired and is 100% addicted to making toys for the grandkids 💞 it's a fun passion for us to share, sharing our current projects and inspiring eachother
I got started in Arigurumi during the initial covid 19 lock downs and was never so grateful that I had a decent size yarn stash as the stores were all closed. I got started crocheting playfood for grandkids for their market and bakery a few years ago. No patterns - just a lot of crocheting and ripping out until I got the shaped I wanted. I've crocheted most vegetables and fruits and the kids love them. They can't hurt the kids, can't break like plastic, they're washable, and substitute for a ball when needed ;-) I only started crocheting animals when I stumbled across your channel earlier in 2021 and now LOVE to make little animals that the grandkids LOVE to play with. Only wish I could knit.
I love making toys. I made a horse many years ago, didn't know what I was doing, but a horse fell from my fingers. He was done in cheap yarn, stuffed with old panty hose, but all the kids loved him. Now, his tail and one ear have been loved off, but he still makes me smile. He was "born" around 1986, and of course, there's no pattern! Since then, I've knit and crocheted many "creatures" For my nieces and nephews, and for other children too. I used to belong to the old yahoo tiny bears group, and absolutely lover Berta Hesen-Minten's designs. Her bears have such character. I've designed some of my own bears, since, and making toys and collectibles, like you said, brings me joy

I started crochet at 12 when my mom taught me to crochet. Last year I started a second business, I’m a private music teacher of 30 years. My new business is crochet. I started by making and selling items for the house. Dish cloths, mop covers etc. made out of Cotton yarn and focusing on eco friendly. I want my new business to be successful so I started doing amigarumi this year and I have seen sales at markets improve with the addition of amigarumi. I really like how it is easy to finish a toy in a few days or a week. I enjoy doing larger projects but don’t sell them nearly as often as I do toys.
Fun fact! My history with crochet/amigurumi started with a bunny as well. Back when I was in middle school, my friend was crocheting a bunny during lunch. And I was completely fascinated. She kinda did a teasing "haha you can't do this." So I was like, "bet," and was on UA-cam that night. My first amigurumi was a very small and somewhat crappy Cesser from JoJo's Bizarre adventure. I gave up trying to follow the video and winged it. Lol. After that, I got serious and learned the different type of stitches and the necessity of the gauge. First crochet project I made that I was super proud of was some fingerless gloves for my Garnet cosplay. First plush I made that I was proud of (and actually followed the pattern and used the right type of yarn and hook for... mostly) was Bob from Despicable Me. Now here I am 10 of so years later, currently making a Wolf Link Plush and loving every second. So that's my story. It all boils down to bunnies and spite. 😆

Well, my mum always loved crocheting and sewing. So, one day, during july of last year, I asked "hey mum, can you teach me how to crochet?" and since that moment I fell in love with this art. I'm not a pro, but I take it easy and I'm learning as much as I can (your videos are helping a lot!) And my first approach with amigurumi was with a simple video where it showed how to crochet a perfect ball that can be used as the head for some projects XD since then I almost never stopped. Now I'm crocheting an orange, wooly head band!
I am almost half way through the body of my first bunny from your beginners pattern. I am having joy again. But now that I know you're designing a kitty I can hardly wait!

This was before I knew amigurumi was a thing, never even looked at a pattern for such a thing. Needless to say - the cow got scrapped. I have coveted amigurumi for years! I too thought I couldn't do it. It seemed too difficult to create such wonderful little things. However, I've been crocheting now for years after learning with the help of my mom, and I'm probably an expert crocheter at this point. Not fast, but expert, lol. So I eventually tried and I am hooked. I'd rather do this than any other type of crocheting, quite honestly. Everything you mention about being passionate about it applies to me I think! I am obsessed. I have given away quite a few, and kept a couple for myself. I go back and forth between cross stitching and crochet. I have no time to scrapbook anymore! Sometimes I think it would be better if I only knew how to do ONE craft, but I also sew little primitive dolls too now, which is a recently discovered craft, so between that and working from home, I'm all booked up! :D I am obsessed though, really.
Haha- that’s how I got into knitting toys 😂😂😂. I got onto youtube and rest is history…. Love making toys. I put so many good emotions and love into it. Just like for you- knitting is my therapy. This is a great video. I've been 'crafty' for as long as I can remember but mostly into sewing, patchwork and folk art painting. I even started a arts and craft patchwork store when I was 24 years back in the mid 80s. I trained as a designer/dressmaker then went on to be a teachnical and further education (TAFE) teacher. In my craft business I stocked all sorts of craft materials and taught classes both during the day, weekends and usually four nights a week. I did that for 13 years then went off doing other work. I've done lots of jobs throughout the years and currently live on a small farm in central west NSW in Australia where I have a small herd of breeding cows. BTW I still haven't found a Amigurumi cow pattern! An idea maybe for your pattern planning. I'm taking leave from work presently and thought I'd get back into crafts as I've been rather stressed of late and over thinking a complex work issue. In recent months I've been learning woodworking and in particular woodturning. I completed my first ever bowl last night. So I'm very excited to have that finished. I have so many WIPS!!! Years of them...Too many to count. I usually rfer to them as UFOs - unfinished objects but I'm going to use WIPs now! This startred when I decided that I would get back into patchwork and also downcycling fashion dolls (@treechangedolls in Tasmania) so that meant tiny crocheting/knitting which I haven't done for years. I thought I'd start bigger, test my fingers and hands out as I have some arthritis, so knitted a beanie for my daughter. As I trawled online I kept seeing the word Amigurumi in the descriptions for yarn. So I researched.....then I found @littlecottonrabbits and @maryjanestearoom, then the patterns on Etsy and Ravelry and the YOU on youtube. I'm hooked!!! I've watched many of your videos, renewed my subscription to skillshare and started collecting some yarn which was on sale at the local craft store. I get frequently paralyzed by researching and planning but the way you have presented Amigurumi toy making has me so enthusiastic already. Thankyou.

I learned how to crochet in 2006, and shortly after I made a amigurumi octopus called “Octopode”, which I found on the internet. It was for my then kindergarten daughter, and over 15 years later she still has it, took it to college with her and even sleeps with it! I’ve had to restuff it a few times, but it has held up!
My mom taught me the basics of crochet when I was in my early teens (maybe younger) and I didn't really take to it.. I did 2 projects and didn't even start up again until 2019-2020 ish. I've been crocheting on and off since! What really got me into amigurumi has been Whistle and Ivy's Nativity Set and watching your videos has helped that spark to continue!
Wonderful video again, with so much knowledge. Before I started crocheting amigurumi, I was making hand woven wall hangings. As much as I love making them, this is quite a messy hobby, with lots of yarns needed to be cut, trimmed, really lot of tidying after each session of weaving. Plus I couldn't take my loom anywhere with me, as it is too big. Then I started thinking about crocheting, as I thought it would be wonderful, not so messy and .. portable hobby. I found your channel, made my very first simple Hamster/catster toy and here I am, totally addicted to all the patterns now. Thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration, Elise!

I had never crocheted before but in 1979 Woman's Day or Family Circle magazine had a crocheted Teddy Bear. So cute! I taught myself to crochet (no YT then) and it turned out beautiful, so I made like 10 more in all colors to give away as gifts. I have no idea what happened to the teddy bear. I haven't crocheted since, but now retired, I will be taking it up again.

I don't remember what I crocheted first but I have entered the cuddle me puppy from Amigrumi to go into our fair, and I placed first place Blue ribbon, with it. I really enjoyed this episode. I must agree with you, I do like making "critters". For last Christmas I made all my kids and grandkids little mice, one boy and one girl, for part of their presents. Very simple and very satisfying. The pattern was all boy but I crocheted a ruffle around the bottom of the sweater part to make the girls. Had a lot of left over yarns, grays, white, tans, etc. The stripes for the sweater area were whatever color I grabbed. Looking for something to do for this year. Love your vlogs. Thank you.

Learned a lot of new stitches doing those. Not bad for someone that was self taught. Have a baby sweater going right now, three of three. To many new great, great nephews being born this year. Makes me relax while watching TV in the evenings.

What an interesting history! I got my start when I decided to crochet a unicorn head and continue around a neck pillow for my little granddaughter. They traveled a lot so it was much better than a toy. But it hooked me into toys- except I find it difficult to work with fine yarn MUCH to my disappointment! So technically I guess I do plushies from Amigurumi patterns. Still very cute but would love it if I could do the little guys! Love your videos!
Your green and brown frogs remind me of Frog and Toad. Me and my mom would read those books ALL THE TIME!! I started crocheting because I saw Stitch Soak scrub and realized I could make my own dish scrubbers! Mind blown 🤯! And somewhere in there, don’t remember how, I found amigurumi. My first amigurumi was a little angry coffee cup from False bubbles. Gave me the courage to try Graham the S’mores from Wonder Crochet and have been hooked ever since. ❤❤ the funny thing is, I’ve only been doing this since February 😂😂. Never saw myself doing crochet. Always seemed… domestic 😂😂 but I love making amigurumi plushies. The yarn, softness, the ability to see my skill grow! It’s all so gratifying!

Amigurumi came to me after I was sick and had several surgeries. I understand you so much! It brings me so much joy, I suffer from depression and this is the thing that help me go through the day. This is so amazing how something can be so helpful and give so much joy and peacefulness 😊
I started crocheting with amigurumi! My mom had offered to teach me to give me a pandemic hobby and in June 2020 I said "Maman please teach me!" Because I had seen a tiktok of this giant plush crochet elephant and I fell in love! My mom taught me the basics with a granny square (still have it!) and I was off to the races! I made so many elephants, a few other animals and I'm also in love with Yan Schenkel's books, I only have volume one but volume 2 (and now three! I didnt know that was happening so thank you!!) are now on my Christmas list! I absolutely understand and feel the same way about crocheting a little creature, a friend, and seeing their personality come through! Love this video! :D

I picked up crochet again after my first grandchild was born and discovered all the new to me patterns and projects that weren't known to me earlier. Amigurumi was one of them. The grandkids loved them. Making them also gave me a much needed distraction during my Mom's final illness. The kiddos are grown up but I still make them! Thanks for the informative video.

Like you, I was a little ambivalent to try it, but fell in love with all the little animals you can make and now have such a large crochet animal collection they’re taking over my home lol
Hi Elise. Great video. I love the kittens, can't wait to see them. I started amigurumi a few years back, making loveys. I was afraid to make the whole body, but was encouraged by my daughter. Today, they are my favorite thing to crochet. I love making all the pieces and watching the critter form. The finished product is always my favorite, until the next one. Hi Elise! I’ve been crocheting for about 13 years. Started out crocheting scarfs, hats and shawls, then onto blankets and pillows. I would see armigrumi and think it’s too hard for me to do. But about 3 years ago my niece sent me a photo of the cutest octopus and I asked if I could make it. Of course, I couldn’t say no and that’s when I started. I must say it was a challenge but I did get done and turned out so cute! I must admit I haven’t done a lot of armigrumi since then, a little here and there. But since finding your channel I’ve gotten the bug to do more. I love all the sites and information you share. Your channel is such a joy!! Take care!!😊

I learned crochet basics as a child but didn't do a lot with it. I'd make scarves for coworkers at Christmas or a blanket for a friend having a baby, but would go years without picking up a hook. In 2009 I found myself unexpectedly expecting lol. In Sept 2009 my youngest son was born with Down Syndrome and a very serious congenital heart defect. Learning how severe his CHD was, I decided not to return to work. As he grew and needed less attention I decided I needed to revive my hobby. About the same time I decided to join Facebook and started seeing pics of other people's makes, and discovered amigurumi. My first critter was a little snake that I sent to a new friend in Pennsylvania who I "met" in a DS Facebook group. Her son is the same age as my little one. From then on I was hooked, lol, pun intended

Hi Elise, What a great history of Amigurumi! I love all of your videos and the different projects that you've completed. I've been working on my amigurumi for a little while now and my finished work seems to always show the stuffing. I've tried working with smaller hooks and I still have holes between my stitches. Is there any advice you could give me?
Try using a yarn with a little "halo" or fuzz. That may help hide those holes!! Also make sure your tension is a little tighter, that could help too! Good luck! ❤️

Fun fact crochet was originally a male thing. It originally was for making nets in the fishing industry and then the possibilities for what could be used was discovered. Now we are here making loads of things from webs to amigurumi to clothing
I learned to crochet from my grandmother when I was a girl - some 50 years ago! I haven't stopped since. I love making presents for people I love, and nothing makes a child happier than a cuddly toy. For me, some amigurumi patterns are too tightly stuffed, too smooth and not cuddly enough - I tend to prefer the softness of Kerry Lord's patterns. Your bunny is lovely, and so is the frog. Have to get out my hook now :-)

The very first amigurumi toy I every made was the "Catster/Hampster" tutorial you posted awhile back. Since then I have made several more from books you have recommended and they are all cute even with their flaws. Attaching heads to bodies is still so hard! Ha! Thanks for the video :)

There are so many beginner projects that are simple and don't use much yarn! Search for beginner amigurumi and you'll find lots of tutorials! That's a wonderful thing you're doing! 🧶🧶🧶

I made a lot of mistakes, but I was so proud! I shared it with the group, and they loved it too. 3 1/2 years later, and I've made around 50. I even entered a design contest this week, with only a week to prepare my entry! It's been quite a journey already, but I have a feeling my love for toymaking will last for several more years to come.

I got started in Arigurumi during the initial covid 19 lock downs and was never so grateful that I had a decent size yarn stash as the stores were all closed. I got started crocheting playfood for grandkids for their market and bakery a few years ago. No patterns - just a lot of crocheting and ripping out until I got the shaped I wanted. I've crocheted most vegetables and fruits and the kids love them. They can't hurt the kids, can't break like plastic, they're washable, and substitute for a ball when needed ;-) I only started crocheting animals when I stumbled across your channel earlier in 2021 and now LOVE to make little animals that the grandkids LOVE to play with. Only wish I could knit.

I love making toys. I made a horse many years ago, didn't know what I was doing, but a horse fell from my fingers. He was done in cheap yarn, stuffed with old panty hose, but all the kids loved him. Now, his tail and one ear have been loved off, but he still makes me smile. He was "born" around 1986, and of course, there's no pattern! Since then, I've knit and crocheted many "creatures" For my nieces and nephews, and for other children too. I used to belong to the old yahoo tiny bears group, and absolutely lover Berta Hesen-Minten's designs. Her bears have such character. I've designed some of my own bears, since, and making toys and collectibles, like you said, brings me joy

I started crochet at 12 when my mom taught me to crochet. Last year I started a second business, I’m a private music teacher of 30 years. My new business is crochet. I started by making and selling items for the house. Dish cloths, mop covers etc. made out of Cotton yarn and focusing on eco friendly. I want my new business to be successful so I started doing amigarumi this year and I have seen sales at markets improve with the addition of amigarumi. I really like how it is easy to finish a toy in a few days or a week. I enjoy doing larger projects but don’t sell them nearly as often as I do toys.

Fun fact! My history with crochet/amigurumi started with a bunny as well. Back when I was in middle school, my friend was crocheting a bunny during lunch. And I was completely fascinated. She kinda did a teasing "haha you can't do this."
So I was like, "bet," and was on UA-cam that night. My first amigurumi was a very small and somewhat crappy Cesser from JoJo's Bizarre adventure. I gave up trying to follow the video and winged it. Lol.
After that, I got serious and learned the different type of stitches and the necessity of the gauge. First crochet project I made that I was super proud of was some fingerless gloves for my Garnet cosplay.
First plush I made that I was proud of (and actually followed the pattern and used the right type of yarn and hook for... mostly) was Bob from Despicable Me.
Now here I am 10 of so years later, currently making a Wolf Link Plush and loving every second. So that's my story. It all boils down to bunnies and spite. 😆

Well, my mum always loved crocheting and sewing. So, one day, during july of last year, I asked "hey mum, can you teach me how to crochet?" and since that moment I fell in love with this art.
I'm not a pro, but I take it easy and I'm learning as much as I can (your videos are helping a lot!)
And my first approach with amigurumi was with a simple video where it showed how to crochet a perfect ball that can be used as the head for some projects XD since then I almost never stopped.
Now I'm crocheting an orange, wooly head band!

This was before I knew amigurumi was a thing, never even looked at a pattern for such a thing. Needless to say - the cow got scrapped. But I am thrilled when I see a hand-crafted toy and I intend to learn more and more until I feel confident to try again.

I have coveted amigurumi for years! I too thought I couldn't do it. It seemed too difficult to create such wonderful little things. However, I've been crocheting now for years after learning with the help of my mom, and I'm probably an expert crocheter at this point. Not fast, but expert, lol. So I eventually tried and I am hooked. I'd rather do this than any other type of crocheting, quite honestly. Everything you mention about being passionate about it applies to me I think! I am obsessed. I have given away quite a few, and kept a couple for myself. I go back and forth between cross stitching and crochet. I have no time to scrapbook anymore! Sometimes I think it would be better if I only knew how to do ONE craft, but I also sew little primitive dolls too now, which is a recently discovered craft, so between that and working from home, I'm all booked up! :D I am obsessed though, really.

Haha- that’s how I got into knitting toys 😂😂😂. I got onto youtube and rest is history…. Love making toys. I put so many good emotions and love into it. Just like for you- knitting is my therapy. I get so many good emotions from using different kinds of yarn, making cute things myself.

This is a great video. I've been 'crafty' for as long as I can remember but mostly into sewing, patchwork and folk art painting. I even started a arts and craft patchwork store when I was 24 years back in the mid 80s. I trained as a designer/dressmaker then went on to be a teachnical and further education (TAFE) teacher. In my craft business I stocked all sorts of craft materials and taught classes both during the day, weekends and usually four nights a week. I did that for 13 years then went off doing other work. I've done lots of jobs throughout the years and currently live on a small farm in central west NSW in Australia where I have a small herd of breeding cows. BTW I still haven't found a Amigurumi cow pattern! An idea maybe for your pattern planning. I'm taking leave from work presently and thought I'd get back into crafts as I've been rather stressed of late and over thinking a complex work issue. In recent months I've been learning woodworking and in particular woodturning. I completed my first ever bowl last night. So I'm very excited to have that finished. I have so many WIPS!!! Years of them...Too many to count. I usually rfer to them as UFOs - unfinished objects but I'm going to use WIPs now! This startred when I decided that I would get back into patchwork and also downcycling fashion dolls (@treechangedolls in Tasmania) so that meant tiny crocheting/knitting which I haven't done for years. I thought I'd start bigger, test my fingers and hands out as I have some arthritis, so knitted a beanie for my daughter. As I trawled online I kept seeing the word Amigurumi in the descriptions for yarn. So I researched.....then I found @littlecottonrabbits and @maryjanestearoom, then the patterns on Etsy and Ravelry and the YOU on youtube. I'm hooked!!! I've watched many of your videos, renewed my subscription to skillshare and started collecting some yarn which was on sale at the local craft store. I get frequently paralyzed by researching and planning but the way you have presented Amigurumi toy making has me so enthusiastic already. Thankyou.

I learned how to crochet in 2006, and shortly after I made a amigurumi octopus called “Octopode”, which I found on the internet. It was for my then kindergarten daughter, and over 15 years later she still has it, took it to college with her and even sleeps with it! I’ve had to restuff it a few times, but it has held up!

My mom taught me the basics of crochet when I was in my early teens (maybe younger) and I didn't really take to it.. I did 2 projects and didn't even start up again until 2019-2020 ish. I've been crocheting on and off since! What really got me into amigurumi has been Whistle and Ivy's Nativity Set and watching your videos has helped that spark to continue!

Wonderful video again, with so much knowledge. Before I started crocheting amigurumi, I was making hand woven wall hangings. As much as I love making them, this is quite a messy hobby, with lots of yarns needed to be cut, trimmed, really lot of tidying after each session of weaving. Plus I couldn't take my loom anywhere with me, as it is too big. Then I started thinking about crocheting, as I thought it would be wonderful, not so messy and .. portable hobby. I found your channel, made my very first simple Hamster/catster toy and here I am, totally addicted to all the patterns now. Thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration, Elise!

I had never crocheted before but in 1979 Woman's Day or Family Circle magazine had a crocheted Teddy Bear. So cute! I taught myself to crochet (no YT then) and it turned out beautiful, so I made like 10 more in all colors to give away as gifts. I have no idea what happened to the teddy bear. I haven't crocheted since, but now retired, I will be taking it up again.

I really enjoyed this episode. I must agree with you, I do like making "critters". For last Christmas I made all my kids and grandkids little mice, one boy and one girl, for part of their presents. Very simple and very satisfying. The pattern was all boy but I crocheted a ruffle around the bottom of the sweater part to make the girls. Had a lot of left over yarns, grays, white, tans, etc. The stripes for the sweater area were whatever color I grabbed. Looking for something to do for this year. Love your vlogs. Thank you.

Learned a lot of new stitches doing those. Not bad for someone that was self taught. Have a baby sweater going right now, three of three. To many new great, great nephews being born this year. What an interesting history! I got my start when I decided to crochet a unicorn head and continue around a neck pillow for my little granddaughter. They traveled a lot so it was much better than a toy. But it hooked me into toys- except I find it difficult to work with fine yarn MUCH to my disappointment! So technically I guess I do plushies from Amigurumi patterns. Still very cute but would love it if I could do the little guys! Love your videos!

Your green and brown frogs remind me of Frog and Toad. Me and my mom would read those books ALL THE TIME!! I started crocheting because I saw Stitch Soak scrub and realized I could make my own dish scrubbers! Mind blown 🤯! And somewhere in there, don’t remember how, I found amigurumi. My first amigurumi was a little angry coffee cup from False bubbles. Gave me the courage to try Graham the S’mores from Wonder Crochet and have been hooked ever since. ❤❤ the funny thing is, I’ve only been doing this since February 😂😂. Never saw myself doing crochet. Always seemed… domestic 😂😂 but I love making amigurumi plushies. The yarn, softness, the ability to see my skill grow! It’s all so gratifying!

I started crocheting with amigurumi! My mom had offered to teach me to give me a pandemic hobby and in June 2020 I said "Maman please teach me!" Because I had seen a tiktok of this giant plush crochet elephant and I fell in love! My mom taught me the basics with a granny square (still have it!) and I was off to the races! I made so many elephants, a few other animals and I'm also in love with Yan Schenkel's books, I only have volume one but volume 2 (and now three! I didnt know that was happening so thank you!!) are now on my Christmas list!

I picked up crochet again after my first grandchild was born and discovered all the new to me patterns and projects that weren't known to me earlier. Amigurumi was one of them. The grandkids loved them. Making them also gave me a much needed distraction during my Mom's final illness. The kiddos are grown up but I still make them! Thanks for the informative video.

Today, they are my favorite thing to crochet. I love making all the pieces and watching the critter form. The finished product is always my favorite, until the next one. Hi Elise! I’ve been crocheting for about 13 years. Started out crocheting scarfs, hats and shawls, then onto blankets and pillows. I would see armigrumi and think it’s too hard for me to do. But about 3 years ago my niece sent me a photo of the cutest octopus and I asked if I could make it. Of course, I couldn’t say no and that’s when I started. I must say it was a challenge but I did get done and turned out so cute! I must admit I haven’t done a lot of armigrumi since then, a little here and there. I learned crochet basics as a child but didn't do a lot with it. I'd make scarves for coworkers at Christmas or a blanket for a friend having a baby, but would go years without picking up a hook. In 2009 I found myself unexpectedly expecting lol. In Sept 2009 my youngest son was born with Down Syndrome and a very serious congenital heart defect. Learning how severe his CHD was, I decided not to return to work. As he grew and needed less attention I decided I needed to revive my hobby. About the same time I decided to join Facebook and started seeing pics of other people's makes, and discovered amigurumi. My first critter was a little snake that I sent to a new friend in Pennsylvania who I "met" in a DS Facebook group. Her son is the same age as my little one. From then on I was hooked, lol, pun intended

First of all love love love your channel I learn something every time I watch i just start doing amigurumi a year ago, the book Crochet Cute Critters I got it for my birthday and I am hook I have made three friends already working on my fourth it is very beginner friendly i like it a lot.

Hi Elise, What a great history of Amigurumi! I love all of your videos and the different projects that you've completed. I've been working on my amigurumi for a little while now and my finished work seems to always show the stuffing. I've tried working with smaller hooks and I still have holes between my stitches. Is there any advice you could give me?
Try using a yarn with a little "halo" or fuzz. That may help hide those holes!! Also make sure your tension is a little tighter, that could help too! Good luck! ❤️

Fun fact crochet was originally a male thing. It originally was for making nets in the fishing industry and then the possibilities for what could be used was discovered. Now we are here making loads of things from webs to amigurumi to clothing

I learned to crochet from my grandmother when I was a girl - some 50 years ago! I haven't stopped since. I love making presents for people I love, and nothing makes a child happier than a cuddly toy. For me, some amigurumi patterns are too tightly stuffed, too smooth and not cuddly enough - I tend to prefer the softness of Kerry Lord's patterns. Your bunny is lovely, and so is the frog. Have to get out my hook now :-)

The very first amigurumi toy I every made was the "Catster/Hampster" tutorial you posted awhile back. Since then I have made several more from books you have recommended and they are all cute even with their flaws. Attaching heads to bodies is still so hard! Ha! Thanks for the video :)
That's amazing!! I'm so glad you tried Bubble the Catster!! 💓 And I really don't like sewing on heads for amigurumi either!!! That's why when I design a toy, the head is crocheted right onto the neck, no sewing!! 💞
