- I spent three days up in British Columbia with my dad and oldest sister skiing Kicking Horse and Revelstoke. We lucked out with conditions and seemed to have some fresh snow every day we were there. The terrain up there is no joke and rewards precise, sound skiing. It really is unlike any other terrain that I have skied before down in the US at a resort. Super thankful to be able to go on a trip like this with my family and I hope you enjoy the video.

this is best viewed on a desktop or TV - thanks for watching!
OMG! I’m so excited for this one. Just gotta get though the work day and then I’ll be making some popcorn and watching it on a big screen. Miss ya bro! Stoked for the stoke!!!
I really enjoyed the episode. The build-up made this one that much better. We selfishly have grown to expect the frequent quick hitters. But we also understand you need to mix it up to stay engaged creatively. Joe on the walkie-talkie and the sister are always cool to see. That being said, i sense some scrambees in Luna in the parking lot of (fill in the blank) resort coming our way. Keep up the good work LC! Love the channel
"I have a 116 groomer ski and a 116 powder ski " is the most west coast skier phrase ever spoken...😂😂😂
Return of the STOKE! Will be viewing on a TV with surround sound, my neighbors will end up subbing after watching this one. Let's gooo!
haah! best comment ever
2 weeks of no stoke squad vids had me feeling sad.. Can’t wait to watch this!
A Lucas Catania video in February!? What a delightful surprise!!
Kidding... glad you're back and excited to watch :)
Your old man is no joke either... guy is a legend
I have been missing my dose of stoke but if this is the type of content we get... Well worth the wait!!!
This! This is ski filmmaking at its finest! Keep up the great work! We all love it!
Dang that couloir papa joe spotted from the bottom was the sickest run! what a fantastic way to spend time with your dad!
Finally got around to watching this one. Great trip Lucas! You’ve definitely transcended and 60+ Joe is such an inspiration :). Keep it up!!
Did revelstoke the last couple of days in kicking horse today. Amazing mts!
If only papa Joe was working the long lens shot at the bottom! Love the video
I was waiting for these Canadian videos to drop. Definitely wasn't expecting a 43 minute video but I'm here for it. Stoked.
Another excellent Team Catania ski excursion. Gr8 episode 🤘 Mad respect and appreciation as always! Beautiful on the 80” 😮
thanks breaux! stoked you watched it on the big screen!
@@LucasCatania17 I listen to my stoke squad leader 🙋♂️🤘😎😉 Thanks for the stoke bro! Amazing family time ❤️ Salute! Cin Cin!

We apologize for the snow conditions over the last stretch. Looks like you made the most of it!
My 11 year old daughter and I are motivated to keep challenging ourselves and improving. We loved the technicality needed for the runs. This type of video really enhances and compliments the fun of your other videos. It is great to have these contrasting styles of skiing and videos.
So sick! I love the way you did this video. The Horse is a Beast and thanks for giving it the love it deserves. Also I've been really enjoying the other POVS from other skiers this year. Definitely something I hope you continue to use.
Loved the narrative cut style of this video
Well done Catania family, well done 👏🏻
thanks steve
Thank you for sharing your stoke from the family trip. It looked like you guys were really getting out of your comfort zone and having a lot of fun doing it safely and building those family bonds at the same time. Amazing movie Lucas, Thanks for bringing us along for the adventure.
thanks brother - definitely felt like it was a level up for my skiing.
nice vid! Anamorphic aspect ratio hits different
Absolute BANGER. Love the content where you show the whole process of you getting to the mountain and what not. Just makes that stoke more real through a camera! Love the videos man keep doing what you’re doing!!
This is one of your best videos! Love this format. Keep up the good work, Lucas!
Just when I started to think, I hope Lucas is doing well, he hits us with this MASTERPIECE. Fantastic story and cinematography bro. Hope you are feeling rejuvenated and ready for a great rest of the season. Also your dad continues to amaze me with the way he skis.
Stoked you made it up to the powder highway and enjoyed yourself with your family. I'm blessed to call BC home and cherish playing in the mountains here. Come back anytime and bring the stoke! Will be coming to check out those cottonwoods someday soon.
I know I’m way late but killer video. Papa Joe was ripping like a someone half his age. Wild. Love the style of this one, especially the raw skiing pov. 😮
Looks wild! Seems like a lot of hard crust under that fresh...
Loved it. Missed the stoke/uploads but this one was sick! There’s no way you can compare some of these real mountains (esp resorts on the Rockies) to PC or DV but some places in US (like Alyeska, Alta, ABasin (for now), Taos at southern end of Rockies) still has some of that wildness
very true! maybe its just because of the familiarity with the mountains here, but they dont come close to BC!
Great stuff! Loved watching you guys tackle the mountain on the last day, some very gnarly lines. Well worth the wait to get content like this!
appreciate that josh - thanks for watching!
Awesome movie bro!! Been waiting for this one ever since I saw ur story from kicking horse. Great work as always
Awesome video! Good advice and insight.
Well done! Loved the documentary feel 👍🏻
Like the longer format and the soundtrack was great. Hope you do more of these longer format posts. Watched this drinking hot chocolate and awaiting an imminent blizzard in Southern New England. Did one BC trip years ago to Silver Star for spring skiing. One of the great skiing experiences of my life- I just about had the whole mountain to myself.
Hell Yea Lucas! This was sick! awesome filming
Looks like you had a great time! Thought that KH was very challenging but also very rewarding. Kept an eye out for you but never saw you. It's strange to see you skiing on so many of the runs we hit. Loved Whitewall, Feuz Bowl, the hits off the right of the lift and Super Bowl. Terminator seemed endless. Snow could have been better, but the mix of powder and scrapey ice kept us on our toes. Visibility. Wow. Tough. Was far worse right before you got there and the fresh snow made a big difference. Think you got there for some of the better days they have had. Ha, I ended up in the video- at 23:14 where you're getting off the gondi my group is taking a picture in the background. I'm in the yellow coat and orange pants. Maybe next time we ski a run together!
23:40 ish. Ha.
Really cool video man! loved the team work.
WOW! The 'not recommended ' run was most gnarly, way to make it work! Papa Joe Rocks!!
PS I hope that was some Blue Rodeo playing in the background...sounded like it!
Love the documentary style of this. Awesome work, this was a cool one to watch!
thanks drew!
Sick vid, awesome skiing, love the new longer style rather than a vlog. Good Job Lucas!
thanks trester!
Such a sick edit totally worth the wait
This is an absolutely incredible video!
Sick content as always
Over the top Lucas! Been a subscriber for a long time. Your skiing and cinematography skills are growing man, it's fun to watch. Level of charge peak season is impressive. Seems like getting the radio audio into the video would be tough, but it made the video! Keep up the good work.
BC Boogie !
Fantastic trip . . . !
This is dope Lucas!! Keep it up
love the long format!
It just keeps getting better and better oh yeah great story
Welcome back... It might take me a little while to watch all of this.. I can relate to not being able to see... Today was a snow globe day and even though we didn't get much snow it sure effected my speed.. It was way down.. Even the groomers I had to be really cautious..
I can relate to Papa Joe.. He skis more of the way I do.. Also we both have Enforcers.. It is nice to see you on the ELKS
It is so cool seeing people on the bottom of the bowl when you are on the top.. They are just specs..
very great video, get to ski Revelstoke as my local hill and would agree it takes a lot of exploring to get it all sorted out. Lots of line and lots of fun. Snow this year has been tough though...
hows the conditions looking, heading there feb 29-mar 8
Worth the wait for sure! Yew
thanks chris!
Natalie has the line of the video: “You are so frickin’ sensitive” 🤣😂🤣😂 I would have enjoy to watch Natalie make some turns as well 😊⛷
This video is more so a mini movie, love it!
aye thanks matt - good to see you!
Amazing video man, nothing else to say, just amazing video
Super sick editing man.
so sick lucas!
So funny! I often tell nonskiers one of the best thing about skiing is the lawlessness!
Loved the editing and format.
I forgive you for leaving us hanging for 2 weeks 😅
Such great content. Love it! So cool to ski w your pop. Was he rocking a spine protector? If so good idea. Gnarly terrain.
yeah he wears a chest/back protector
I love POW and these videos
hey, ik that beaver mountain doesnt have any really advanced terrain, but i think it would cool if you stopped by
LETS GOOO its filmed in 21:9
Would be cool to hear a little about you and your dad's conditioning at this point of the year (your sis' has to be in phenomenal shape too!). How many ski days total and how do you feel strength wise from the beginning of the season till now? Those (day 3) runs were not only technically demanding, they required a ton of consitioning as well to run top to bottom with thicker, variable snow conditions. What else beyond skiing are you guys doing to stay in shape at this point in the season or no need?...
we have always been big advocates of working out my entire life. we dont do anything specific for skiing, but we are in the gym lifting weights about 5 days a week. i follow a traditional body building type workout. its not just a ski season activity, but a lifestyle that is paired with healthy eating. high protein, no alcohol, no smoking, no junk food etc
Let’s Go!
Love the video! Curious on your skiing camera choice. Between the traditional gopro style vs 360s if you could only have one to start with which would you choose? I'm in the market on a new ski action camera and would love your take.
kicking horse is the most difficult in BC
You outdid yourself again Lucas!
glad you liked it ray!
Revelstoke is one of the greatest mountains I have ever skied. Had the good fortune to go back again a few weeks ago. So many layers to that place. Lucas you could do a few days there and make another brilliant dedicated video. Great work here. I have Kicking Horse on my list next.
lucas sending it
Wow. See any telemark skiers on that wall?
W dad
Can't tell what's going on with this video but the camera edges felt super distorted. i can't tell if it's a steep wall or truly a chute because when the camera moved it started to warp the left and right sides a lot. Great content as always though.
what walkie talkie were you guys using?
Humm, it sounds like you need to get into the backcountry. The way you're describing what you like about these BC resorts, is backcountry skiing. You're missing a lot of what the Wasatch has to offer, and some of the best pow runs in the country
yo lucas where are ur bindings mounted on the arv 116 jj?
Hey Lucas, the armada jacket you are wearing right now… does it fit slim or more modern? Debating if I need to size up for layers
i would say its a pretty normal fit.
Welcome to Canada.....lol 😂 Yes, there are consequences. So common sense prevails skiing here every week. You have to understand where you're going, what you're doing and be prepared
What days did you ski? Was up in Canada Jan 31 to Feb 3 and it was awful (mostly rain, then froze with no snow...).
Feb 5-7
@@LucasCatania17 Weather starting cooling down on the 3rd with snow on the 4th. I am glad you got some decent conditions.
What radios are y’all using? BCA?
Rockie Talkies
we need 4k catania
It is 4k Joey
Premieres are only in 1080
@@LucasCatania17 oh what thanks for the knowledge! Idk why I haven't noticed I love seeing the premiers !
Now that you've spent some time on the WW 116, do you prefer them or the JJ? They both look fun!
i prefer the WW in softer conditions. the caruba core is too soft in my opinion to handle variable conditions found at resorts. the JJ is more versatile imo.
@@LucasCatania17 I have the JJ UL. I think getting the WW 116 would be very similar. I love the JJ, but I don’t need to that heavy of a ski anymore. I think I’ll check out the ARV 106. I can demo that ski. Unfortunately, they do not demo high end skis like the WW 116. I checked everywhere. My biggest issue with the 106 is they only make it in the 180 and 188cm. The sweet spot for me is the somewhere in the middle, like a 184cm, with my 5’10” frame at 160lbs. Anyway, great videos. I love your attention to detail. I’m vicariously living through your videos. Broke my clavicle and I’m out of commission for the remainder of the year.
Was that a padded layer Joe was wearing? 13:31
Yup, already seen him wearing it in another video :)
Yeah he wears a chest/back protector
I dig your videos, and I've seen all of them. But the camera, or setting, you use in this one distorts the terrain so much it's hard to watch.
Great video. I can’t believe your sister didn’t watch papa joes line! 😂⛷️🏴☠️
haha! some things never change
The camera angle never does any run justice… until you look back up 😊⛷
Your old man is no joke either... guy is a legend
