I really dont wanna be that negative, but whats up with women snowboard? I mean the Level is what it is, but there is no progression at all as well. Every other category is improving over the last years, i dont see it in snowboard women, no cliffs , no Tricks, no fast riding. The competition is so weak, that the current level is still enough to win. But if you look at other competitions, like natural selection, there are women out there who can seriously send, but in FWT its honestly kinda disappointing by now. Of course i dont want that athletes push beyond there limits and get hurt and i really believe that they give their best, but imo it should be the highest Level here, but i dont see it.
Think it's more pronounced because of the god-awful conditions here. Even the men's snowboarding category looked weak at this event. Too bumpy and icy, nightmare conditions for a snowboarder. At least on the skis you can hit the big features and absorb the bumpy run offs. Honestly this is the worst FWT event I've ever seen, the conditions were so bad I'm surprised they even went ahead with it. This is coming from a snowboarder, I love back country but I would not touch this run in these conditions lol.
@@homedogoli yeah of course conditions were shit, but i see it like that for a longer time now. Even with good conditions the runs cant convince me. I belive they have a tight time schedule, so when the Ozone face got unridable, they didnt really have alternatives. But i agree, the face wasnt worthy for such a competition, on the other hand still better than nothing🤷♂️
@@larifari1812 Think that's just how it is with back country, the strength difference really shows. Not easy to stick those landings even in decent conditions. And yeah better than nothing I guess! They could have postponed for better conditions but maybe that wasn't a possibility.
Like in the last natural selection event, you could really see the fatigue kicking in with the women's category. A few of them could barely stand by the end of the day!
FWT could learn a thing or two from Natural Selection. Go further back country in search of deeper pow, larger faces and longer runs. Also, the drone follow cam throughout the whole run gives the fans the best POV ever.
his line score woulda been really low, and all the other scores are based off that, so even though he did 2 sick backflips and skied in full control, his score has a ceiling much lower than some of the other riders
Agreed, not to discredit the immense skill it takes, but I honestly can not from my heart say that I would ever appreciate a run that favors a mellow line packed with tricks, as compared to a very technical freeride line where you're fighting the mountain and displaying skills such as pathing, terrain management, speed and fluidity, big exposure airs, etc. It's called FREERIDE world tour for a reason, not X Games in the wild. Certainly having sick air style and tricks is an awesome addition to separate the really good from the truly great. But it should imo always just stay as that: addition. Not main course. Otherwise what's the point of choosing the most technical line, when you are far better off going for airs that are easier to set up and prep for. I would also love to see "Creativity" be added as a measurement tool in the voting.
@@Real_MisterSir You kinda have a point.. But in all seriousness. How many riders can hit a cork 7 in a spot they`ve never ride before?. I get your point that is not about the freestyle.. But the word freeride contains more than skiing big mountain terrain. I believe the combination of both, is the goal. If Aymar Navarro would`ve landed that double jump in the first stop, that would`ve entered in the top 3 for sure, even though he doesn´t do tricks. I think there should be a competition like this but with no tricks. Hell ,maybe there is one but i don`t know about it. Anyways, i`ll keep enjoying both type of riding.
@@acedaytona1884 I agree. Takes the most exposed line virtually perfectly and sends a trick with a tech landing at the bottom. It should beat these slopestyle cross court runs all day
Because of a Windwarning they changed the location from the usual Ozone to T1 at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. They changed it less then 24 before the first Rider went down
To me to be frank it is so boring to watch them ski and snowboard. It’s no comparison to the men’s skiing and snowboarding. I simply fast forward to the men’s and skip the women’s all together.

FRWT needs to hire the Natural Selection drone pilot. These drone shots making me dizzy.
" As his fiormer coach.." 💗
Awesome!
Where’s Aimar?
He have covid
He was robbed, not COVID

To be clear when I said them, I mean the women’s snowboarding and skiing.

bruh what did he do that was so spectacular?
I'm looking for a song title that starts at 16:46. Anyone can help me?
I think the judges were very hard with Victor De le Rue...
It's a shame that he is out of the competition !
His run was so fun 🙂
Avoid the gnar and do park tricks is the new FWT.
I'll never understand this take, everything the top guys did was gnarly
Ski men was nothing but gnar
I would disagree, this venue as a backup just provides features where tricks are more manageable. The freeride world tour is certainly still gnar

Nah have to disagree. Literally Maxime tricked the same upper cliff, did a 720 and bigger backflip after that as well. Where was Wadeck robbed?
the impromptu Swedish celebration when Max came down was so wholesome and amazing
Anyone know the track at 3:34:47?
