- Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot multiple times in an assassination attempt after a government meeting Wednesday and is in a life-threatening condition in hospital. The shooting took place after an off-site government meeting in Handlova.

He was shot 4 times, 3 in the chest and 1 in the stomach by a 71 years old man from the nearby town Levice. A report said he was briefly conscious while was taken back into his gov limousine by the bodyguards. He was flown from city Handlova, where he was shot, to the hospital in a close-by city Banska Bystrica,. The latest said he was in life threatening condition.

I'm from Slovakia, i didn't vote for Robert Fico, but I'm completely horrified this happened to him. He was elected in a fair democratic election, therfore he is my representative. I hope he recovers soon.
