now THIS is the restoration I like, a lot of the restorations I watch, the people put just a perfect shine on there and customize it, I know the shine protects form rust but you got to leave some of its past on there
Very cool! Witty at times also, like when the heat gun is fired up before finishing the handle (I caught the rhythm). I would have liked to see the removed stump of the old handle though. It sure held on!
You have no clue how happy I am that you have a striker. I see people light torches with lighters, matches, pretty much everything else but a striker and it gives me a mini heart attack.
You don't know much about restoration, if you say this is a perfect restoration. The hammer head still has pitted holes in it still, it's far from perfect. I've seen better restorations than this and this isn't perfect at all.
@@ForgottenShineRestoration thank you. I love watching you work. I have PTSD and anxiety and I find your vids really therapeutic. They always help me sleep too. Not that I find it boring 🤣🤣🤣. I also like the little funny things you do. Like wiggle your fingers before poking one in a hole 🤣🤣🤭. Glad to be a subscriber 🏴❤️
I really hate to criticize someone, especially since I know how much work went into making this video, but it just looks like a slightly sanded old hammer with an etched design. I'll check your other videos in case this was just an aberration for you. Best wishes.
Hey Curtis D, that's right, an extreme amount of time goes into a video like this. This hammer has extreme pitting from the rust, of course I could have completely sanded it away, but then there wouldn't have been much left. Furthermore I think that the hammer looks more mystical and interesting. In the foreground of this video stand, how do I make with simple things the logo on it without laser...
@@ForgottenShineRestoration while many of your restorations are restoring an item to functionality, there is something to be said about form as well. You're absolutely right about the pitting lending the metal character, giving it history that a polished smooth hammer doesn't have.
1:30 乱暴なやり方ですが、私の父は火の中にくべて、残っている木の柄を少し焼いて緩くしてから取り外してました。 Roughly, my dad put it in the fire, burned the remaining wooden handle a little, loosened it, and then removed it.
This has to be the coolest restoration video I have seen in a long time! Great editing and I really dug the music. My ancestors would play this as they marched into battle. Count me in as a new subscriber!
Very nice work and video filming/editing bro !. I know the time it takes !. Also i like you leave on the object the signs of its past times. Congrats !
Nice restoration dude, I especially enjoyed how you used chemistry/physics for the new logo 😄 We did something similar in chemistry class at the university, but I actually never saw anyone do that UA-cam ! Very nice job! 👍🏼🙏🏼

Nice engraving design on the hammer. I am all about saving the history of any tool but not removing the pitting from the striking surfaces sets this hammer and user up for failure.
This was epic, especially the end when all came with the music and hammer hits)) like a teaser of a new movie))
Superbly directed and edited as well an incredible restoration. You are a true artist!

Hello Alex Restoration. Thank you very much and have fun with it, I think it's totally great how it works...
very inspiring, gracias!
Thanks very much! 🐢
Nice work! You should try a craft knife to cut stencils, the kind with a tip that turns when you go around a corner.
ok, thank you for the tipp! 🐢
Okay but why does 2:56 have me feelin some type of way 😳
first, a coffee knife, now a flambé hammer handle??? sir you are OUT OF CONTROL!!/j

Great tip for the temperature of the heat treatment. Sodium chloride has a melting temp of 801C. Spot on 👌
Thanks for your great feedback!
I love watching these kinds of videos
Thank you!
Another really calming and relaxing watch. Thank you. Is that a sand blaster you use to get the rust off or is it just air? Forgive my not knowing.
No problem, yes it is a sandblasting cabin that works with compressed air. But you need a blasting medium, in this case it is corundum.

I wouldn't trust the gloves to block the sandblasting... I'd throw it in a pair of vice grips or something so "I'm" not holding it directly.
