This is a great informative video. Nice and calming and to the point. Thanks.
My thoughts exactly
My cuttings are just starting to take root. Should I keep them in doors over winter? They will only be 5-6 months old when the snow starts.
Great video! Thank you!
can we do it any time of the year or in summer, rainy season, or...........?
Knowing WHEN To take cuttings is crucial. Anyone have somme good suggestions anyone?
Where do you find large clear plastic bags with ties
I've had the cuttings in wet sand now for 6 weeks. Leaves aree still green, but no roots? Please advise
Very descriptive! Thanks
Can you put the cuttings in a damp basement?
HI,YOU ARE DOING GREAT,I HAVE A QUESTION,CAN I USE CUTTINGS FR A GUAVA TREE THAT ARE GROWING WAY IN THE BOTTOM AND WILL IT GROW FRUITS?THANK YOU
Thanks Donna
How long does it take for the cuttings to actually grow to the size of the parent plant? A year or two, or much more then that?
Aneta Kudasik , it takes two months. if the leaves are alive, you got roots.
"to grow to the size of the parent plant"
well, now, that would depend upon the size of the 'parent' plant.
Martha Stewart mentioned ten years from cutting to full-sized hedge.
K S now, ain’t nobody got time for that!
Years and years. Boxwoods grow slow, but if you have a big yard and you what to fill it with a formal garden of boxwoods, a little patience is a lot cheaper than buying hundreds of boxwoods at a local nursery.
Ya if you're 65 might as well buy em big
I wish you would show results.
Does it matter when cuttings are taken?
Teresa Williams, for this kind of evergreen plates, you can do this in most of the time, winter should be avoided unless you have greenhouse.
My son just knocked off a pretty good sized branch from my boxwood :( Can I get it to make roots without root stimulator? for example, sticking it into a glass of water or wet soil?
Boxwood
Amy Rajnoor , yes, you can. however, you must keep the water cleaning, and often change the water to avoid fungi growing, 99% cutting plates were killed by fungi.
@@JJr-ce3vv hahaha. I don't think that branch was still good for planting by the time you replied :-D
How long does it take them to root
She said 4 to 8 weeks.
My cuttings are dying after 4 weeks. They are inside in a seed starter tray with a lid in indirect bright light. Should I just start over?
Died or just brown dead leaves
In California I plant directly in moist to swamp like conditions in hot summer days
As long as the main stem is bendable, its trying to grow, if it snaps its dead
Your plastic advice caused my cuttings to burn. Still hoping to save them...forget the plastic bags....
How did they burn in a “shady protected location”, which was also her advice?
@@DrewTheConqueror He probably put them in the microwave
😎💯👍
Where is the process of sanitizing the cuts? bacteria and fungi will eat the stake.
As far as ik, callusing prevents that but so does using root hormone which they did use
@@JYvanna hahaha some angry folks in the comments
