The little flame detailing isnt necessarily my favorite but if you're wearing jeans or pants you cant really see it they skate well right out of the box id say they are best after you break in the kickflip and heelflip zones good grippy vulc shoe if you really wanna hide the flames you can just paint them with a marker or dye youre shoes black like i do i just leave the soles white all you do is make a enough black dye to dip your shoes upside-down holding the sole away from the dye mixture whatever color you want have fun with it
I’m on my second pair now and LOVE ‘em. Only negative for me is my heel slips out constantly and can’t get the laces to look nice with also preventing heel slip. Any tips/recommendations?
hmmmm...i don't remember having problems with my heel coming out much, maybe because i have a wide ass tall foot? lace em up all the way would be the only thing i could think of
skated their Logan model, and the tounge kept getting stuck in the shoe which was super annoying, but besides that, it's a pretty solid shoe with good flick and durability. That shoe has the ollie patch on it which made it last 10x more than a lot of other shoes. Might try out the Antwuan's soon lol

Loved the Vulcan around 2007-2009, where they were still fat shoes with padded tongues, these remind me of those. I think these are sick but I had a pair in 2017 and they were too wide and weird sized for me

Its actually not really a pro model. More like a modded version of their shoe called the logan. Also Jamie is not involved with them anymore. He's actually starting a brand new shoe company lol. Angel C was the one that made the straye. I forgot his last name lol but he was also involved with supra.
you're not wrong about the pro model thing. it's rare for skaters to get an actual pro model like they did back in the day. mostly just colorways. At least his name is on the shoe

Straye is a Jamie Thomas brand, associated with Zero. But in all honesty, 85$ for these, that’s very expensive. You’ll find that these get soft very quickly.
I have a pair of the Boo J slip ons (yin yang). Can’t skate in them. They hurt my feet too much but they’re good loungers. I live in Tehachapi so wanted to get some to support the hometown boy.
You really gotta have a distinct style for these to really be a good look. I do think I like that though. I like distinct shoes that might not be for everyone.

Because they're so wide, if you skate in them untied, your feet slide around and I sprained my foot because of it on go skate day this year. They dont look good tied. Still searching for the perfect skate shoe. I think they need to attach and elastic band to both sides of the puff tongue to keep your foot in place. When that happens, perfect skate shoe. I'll keep buying them and rocking them- I'll even keep finding ways to skate in them. I ordered some ultra thin insoles today to put under the acid drop insoles just to see if it would help it be tighter around my foot and better to skate in
