This was a lovely interview. The rude and lazy commenters below clearly didn’t watch the video and can’t stop trolling and being jealous. She addresses nepotism, she acknowledges her privilege, she just wants to do something after 20 years of raising children and putting her dreams on hold. We can all relate to this. I appreciated this interview.

@@ta4256 It's all right. Children are grown up. She got enough time on hand to explore her talent now. If she wants to make career out of it, then, why not? Creative writing is God gift, you can't buy it or sell it, only because you got famous parents. Readers will give her thumps up or down soon. Fashion label is art of collecting worldwide fine pieces and put it in your showroom or create your own piece out of that available knowledge. Common girls struggle is , even if she writes a novel, she will not get publisher so easy and if she got interest in fashion, she will not get a chance to sit in a first row of any fashion week ramp.

An objective opinion here - first of none of us have a choice to pick our parents, when we enterthis world. So, the star kids didn't as well. Rich and offspring of famous people may have some advantages and yes they have the confidence from support structure to speak and act like they are brilliant. But we also don't have to rush to judgement that they aren't brilliant because they are rich and famous. It's tough for most of us to fullfilll our dreams because it's a hell of a hard work. That's why we respect SRK, Aishwarya and Kangana to name a few as where they are today with their hard work and talent. Also, I get us wrong to making people feel they are brilliant. Stop watching useless films with family friends acting in it, looking like a bollywood rich people's party (Karan Johar movies, for example); or silly moives of Salman khan where acting means silly dance steps and putting sun glassesin the back. If you like their style let them be models, not actors. So, audience need to take reesponsibility for this. Allow Shweta Bachchan her time and let her show her ability. It's not fair she pays the price for her family being a famous one.
Her father worked very hard to give this benefit for his children. Instead of crying on rich children, work hard and give that benefit to your children.
In this generation, it's easy to publish, if your content is great.
"I see myself as some one related to famous people". That's what make me like her the most. She is so humble and down to earth.

I wonder what it is in us Indians that makes us want to belittle/pull down anyone who is in some way superior to us ? If the reason given is not nepotism, it is some other, similar reason....... the long and the short of it all being that we are all equal, wallowing in the same muck, and no one person ought to have the audacity to claim that he/she is better than the rest of us.

She did say she didn't feel worthy of the show and didn't want to do it. But the channel wanted her; Burkhas said that Shweta was hard toget. So, why are we blaming her? It's the system. Not just in movies; a big industrialist's son get big position in his company, though the father knows the son isn't better than the other talent out there. Let not our disappoints of not being where we deserve to be 'dictate our opinions on others chances at adventure.
I loved this video.....got the real picture of Shweta .....she speaks from her heart. She has a lot of low self esteem and an inferiority complex. On the other hand I would say, she speaks so well and once she conquers her stage fright she will be at par with successful women. I wish her all the best for the future.

I think the children have turned out to be better than the parents! I find both Abhishek and Shweta to be soft-spoken and not one bit arrogant considering the lineage. I had watched Shweta's interview on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal and she came across as a humble person. Years later, it's refreshing to see that she is still grounded.

Debates about nepotism and everything is fine, but guys please don’t become bitter about it.
Nepotism does exist and we need to stop it. But it doesn’t mean we just hate and bash everybody who’s related to someone famous. At least hear her out.

She accepts the privilege of coming from a renowned and a well known family. A coin always has two sides and judging someone by just an interview or an appearance is not justified. To me, she was impactful and I would want to give her book a read and then decide or rather frame an opinion about her.
