I couldn't easily find the torque specs for the o2 sensors on XJ's. We just got them snug. Don't want over tight! If you find the torque spec, please leave it in the comments. Thanks!!

Good video, honestly i skipped around some and so I didn't know if you had mentioned anything about what brands typically are good. I replaced my inline 6 a few months ago, including the entire exhaust in my 98 and used name brand aftermarket O2 sensors. They ended up tripping the codes again before I was able to get emissions, reset and they repeated tripping the codes a few times. I do not remember what brand they were, however I ended up replacing the aftermarket with factory sensors and have had no issues after this. It was one code at a time, if i recall correctly it was the upstream code before the downstream. So, I did them one at a time, but the Cherokee was just not happy until I ended up doing both sensors. Just my experience, thank you for the videos.

These were Denso. Linked them in the video description. We'll see if I have any issues with them. So far, so good...

Yeah. Gotta start with small steps. Give them small victories. Like “hey babe. I can’t reach this bolt. Could you help drop that in place…”. Make it fun. Be patient. Let them help when you can and explain what you’re doing.

My '88 doesn't have a MAF sensor. It does have a MAP sensor, though.

Any tips on getting an oxygen sensor to stay in place in the bracket? Mine always pops out of the bracket and disconnects then it hangs down

hello friend, I have a 1996 cherokee and I can't find the sensor anywhere, in the place where you have it my exhaust pipe has nothing, is there any other location? It should be noted that mine right in that area is quite bent due to a big accident I had years ago, but I also don't see any welding points to assume that the hole was filled (and the accident was 15 years ago and it has been working fine until 2 months), I recorded a video, could I pass it on to a contact so that you can help me locate it?

(shrug) ... I'm on my original sensors ... 315,000 miles since new. Don't see any reason to touch 'em if it's happy with 'em ...

@@JeepSolid yours got really carboned up for some reason. Y'all should look at the cracked exhaust too; they all do it.
There's a zillion different headers you can buy; I used the APN 4.0 Header (Google it) on mine. The caution here is it's only for 98 and older as the horseshoe style newer intake won't fit on it.
Yours, as a 97, should be fine.
It's a straightforward but long install, and you will get very very very very dirty.
